  1. The team is actually just the backdrop used by Nebraska fans to highlight their own self idolization. Nebraska fans worship their sellout streak more than their national championships, because that puts them in the spotlight. My wife's coworker came to work in Nebraska with a PhD in Agriculture from Purdue. She jumped at a chance to go to the Nebraska Purdue game at Lincoln in 2018. She said said the Husker fans were nice before the game but acted like sh!theads after they lost. She said she would never go to a game at Memorial Stadium again. I love Nebraska football, but I despise the majority of the fan base.
  2. Pelini's biggest sin was not buying into any of the Nebraska fans' self proclaimed "Best Fans in College Football" hype. That exact moment happened when Nebraska fans booed during halftime of Bo's comeback win against OSU. He disgustedly waved off the boo birds and went on to win the game, but that led to his secretly recorded rant and an irreparable schism that never healed. Nebraska fans see themselves as the centerpiece of Nebraska football and are okay with the likes of a Mike Riley quality coach as long as he kisses their collective @sses as a perquisite for staying on their good side. Me? I think Pelini often lets his temper and lack of self control get the better of him, but he is more genuine than the "Best Fans in College Football" up here. He wanted out of Nebraska but wanted to keep Nebraska's money, so he packed the U-Haul and baited Eichorst into firing him. He then settled down to coach at Youngstown so his kids could attend school there while he sucked up Husker money. To this day, most Nebraska fans don't realize Pelini gave them the finger AND the shaft...as well as nine wins a season. But those nine season wins don't count if the guy who gives them to you doesn't like you.
  3. DeSousa picking up a chair and brandishing it is the difference.
  4. I will wholeheartedly agree with that.
  5. MLB baseball says it was. So I guess you will just have to disagree with it. We can't argue opinions, so I guess we are done.
  6. Dude, do you even do reality??? It's not a "notion". It's a fact. "Notions" don't carry a $5 million price tag and suspensions and losing draft choices.
  7. I am saying what is right is right and what is wrong is wrong. Can you get a grip on that premise? (Obviously not if you are arguing against it)
  8. Absolutely they can. Being a cheater amongst a bunch of other cheaters doesn't make one any less of a cheater, does it? Cheaters gain no advantage against other cheaters. That is just a push, more or less. Cheaters seek to gain an advantage over those who are honest and don't cheat. Cheating pays off against those who are those who ARE following the rules. Also, saying "I am no worse than all of the the rest of the outed sleazeballs!" isn't a very flattering way to define oneself throughout a career or even a life.
  9. I guess what the apologists are saying is that they cheated just for the sake of cheating, not because they thought it would give them any sort of an advantage. Kind of like it's okay for rich people to steal because they really don't need the money in the first place.
  10. Only there really was a coven of witches and they were all caught. At this stage, we are just figuring out whether drowning or burning at the stake is more appropriate.
  11. Yep...because all "those" people can't be expected to be honest like the rest of us...right? </sarcasm>
  12. Okay, now your persecution complex is on full blown display. Look at your quote and then tell me that the 2017 Houston Astros are the "only ones taking shit for it"? Lance Armstrong, Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, and the New England Patriots never had any blow back on their cheating? As for the "they all do it" excuse, it doesn't hold water. "They" all don't cheat. If all but one cyclist on the Tour de France doped, then that means that one honest guy was cheated by Lance Armstrong AND the other 99.9%. Being one cheater in a crowd of cheaters doesn't make one any less of a cheater...right?
  13. 2017 Astros didn't get the scrutiny for their wins. They got the scrutiny for their cheating. Maybe Hinch and Luhnow can now take long bike rides in the country with Lance Armstrong and discuss how fickle fate can be.
  14. Who would have predicted that the conference would lose two more teams after Nebraska left? I had said that Nebraska went to the Big 10 for more money and WAY more stability in the conference. Lots of replies on the money aspect, nary a peep on the conference stability issue. I guess that point is conceded?
  15. Actually, that was Nebraska's then chancellor Harvey Perlman and AD Steve Pedersen. But if it makes you feel better about the break up,then by all means, go with that and tell it to all of your friends as well...even to all of our friends. Maybe even tell that the Big 12 was the best thing that ever happened to Nebraska and nobody will ever treat Nebraska as well as the Big 12 did while playing the Connie Francis song "Who's Sorry Now?" over and over. Nebraska is over the Big 12 and moving on. Everybody else should be over it by now as well. Last word is yours.
  16. Is this about that "Texas pipeline" thing?
  17. Well then, let's look at wins and rivalries. Are you saying that we would win more games in the Big 12 than we did in the Big 10 over the same years? If so, why? As for rivalries, when we could no longer play Oklahoma every year, we became strangers in our own conference. Nothing to hold us there anymore. The B1G offered some more money and WAY more stability. What were the advantages for Nebraska in staying with the Big 12? I will see your two Nebraska fans you know who live in Texas and want to go back to the Big 12 and raise you several HUNDRED Nebraska fans that I know in Nebraska who say "No way in Hell!" Where you are doesn't change who you are. Nebraska will be relevant if and when they start winning big games. Period. Personally, I think Frost has hit the bottom of Nebraska's miser index, but just like the "We're BAAAAACCCKKK" there last year in Texas, the optimism of fans can be dashed by reality. So I guess we will just have to wait and see.
  18. Nothing works out when a team goes 13-23 the last three years. However, thinking that we wouldn't have nosedived just as spectacularly if we would have stayed in the Big 12 is a head scratcher. Among other teams that haven't done as well since Colorado, Missouri, Texas A&M, and Nebraska have left is...Texas. Just because two events happen concurrently doesn't mean one caused the other.
  19. You DO mean Oklahoma when you say "main rival"...right? Because that was who it was LONG before the Big 12 was even a thing. Oklahoma / Nebraska often had National Champion implications during the Big 8 years which added to the hype. Much more so than the Texas / Texas A&M game means to you guys even. As far as shitty coaching, staying in a league that pays less with a bunch of guys that drove their last conference into the ditch doesn't trump moving to a conference that pays more and is infinitely more stable. Mike Riley and Bill Callahan's staff would suck wherever Nebraska found themselves. We just are getting paid more to suck.
  20. Nebraska is getting paid a lot more in the B1G to be equally mediocre...so there is that.
  21. The good news is that you won't be faced with that decision to make.
  22. Nebraska: All of our exes live in Texas. If Frost doesn't work out, he will probably end up in Austin with Beck and Eichorst. You guys do monitor Eichorst's son there, don't you?
  23. Georgia should be banned from any post-season play or bowl games for five years after thinking that they could shut down Joe Burrows with a three man rush. I was offended in having to watch such jackassery from their defensive coordinator. Burrows just sat back there reading the paper and smoking a cigarette, occasionally glancing up until somebody inevitably came open.
