  1. They're not the only ones. Even purportedly knowledgeable college football people like Stewart Mandel made ridiculously inane points like Donnie and Norm.

  3. You're right they didnt win a game in the the NBA Finals after Kyrie after winning only 1 game in the Finals with him the year before. 😕
  4. Kyrie is this generation's Stephon Marbury. Teams get worse when he gets there and better when he leaves. Back in the early 00s Marbury was traded from the Nets to the Suns for Jason Kidd. The Nets immediately became title contenders while the Suns record plummeted. Fast forward 3 or 4 years later and the Suns let Marbury go, signed Steve Nash, and suddenly became title contenders again.
  5. Or maybe it was just an area of concentration back then within the Liberal Arts Department.
  6. https://www.texasstandard.org/stories/conference-celebrates-50-years-of-black-studies-at-ut-with-eye-toward-programs-future/ The name has changed through the years, but UT began offering the major in 1969 according to the article above. I think the confusion on the name of the department is due to renaming it after Dr. Paul Warfield in 2008 or 2009
  7. He'd worth a lot more than that. He took a team friendly deal.
  8. One of the drawbacks of the recent focus on the Tulsa massacre is that the attention put on it leads people to believe it was a unique or rare occurrence, both with respect to the success of black folks at that time and the resulting riots brought on by white resentment. That shit happened numerous times all over pre depression era America.
  9. That's definitely not true. I knew several people who majored in African American Studies at UT when I was in undergrad during the mid to late 90s.
  10. He also took it because it was substantially more than he was making as a producer.
  11. Wood's 2022 stats would've led the Mavs in blocks, total rebs, & defensive rebs this year. And as far as the number of teams he's played for I'm not sure that's totally fair for a guy who began his career as a G leaguer. He didn't hit his stride as an NBA player until his last year in Detroit, If for instance, 2 or 3 years from now, Theo Pinson suddenly developed into a worthwhile asset people lamenting the number of teams he played for would be beyond ridiculous.
  12. Trade won't go through officially until after the draft because of the Stepien rule (can't trade picks in consecutive years). Mavs still owe next year's pick to the Knicks for Porzingis, so this trade will technically go into effect after the Mavs draft a player for the Rockets.
  13. The word on Woods according to the Locked On Mavericks guys is that while he's not a good rim protector he is really good on switches. He's a really mobile defender and can hold his own against guards. So this actually bodes well for our defense being at least as good as it was last year post-Porzingis trade. We can play him next to both Maxi and Powell because of his shooting and ability rolling to the basket, so hopefully he comes with it in what will be a contract year for him.
  14. These sorts of comments always make me laugh. As if David Duke didn't love his black nanny or Strom Thurmond didn't love his daughter. Human beings are complicated creatures who are adept at employing the right amount of cognitive dissonance to suit their needs whenever necessary.
  15. How is that any different from Danny?
  16. Davey over Sirois seems like it has Corby's hands all over it, that or Cat's relationship with Davey overrode all the work Sirois has put in over the last 15 years years. Which is fucked up.
  17. This doesn't apply to the Dalton Schultz situation, but it's apropos for most Cowboys negotiations.
  18. Why not? He knows he's dealing with a dummy in the front office. Might as well see what he can get.
  19. Listening to Donnie when Sirois made his announcement you get the sense that Donnie was thinking his radio career was walking right out the door with Sirois.
  20. Reminds me of that Kendall Brown kid Baylor had this past season.
  21. Why are yall surprised by this? This topic has been discussed ad nauseam numerous times on this thread. Guys like Mino and 50+ year old Ty Walker make somewhere between 27k and 35K.
  22. Matt Hill, who was part of Kevin Durant's and DJ Augustin's 2006 recruiting class is on the Hawks' coaching staff.
  23. Trading Brunson away would be stupid to begin with, but it's even more egregious to do it in a sign and trade this offseason considering all the limitations trading him this offseason would constrain us with. We'd literally only be able to get 50 cents on the dollar if we were to trade him this off-season in a sign and trade. The Mavs should do everything in their power to sign him and reevaluate trade options regarding him in the future if need be.
