  1. He needs to take notes from Agbaji and work on his game another year before thinking about going to the league. He could fuck around and become a player of the year candidate next year. What happened to that wing who had the spin move clutch dunk in the waning seconds in yalls win vs KU in Lubbock. Tech has so many rangy and athletic wings it's hard to keep up with them.
  2. When it comes to basketball I see every KU loss as a good thing. Fuck Kansas!!
  3. That's what I get for attempting to spell emasculates with an I.
  4. Jerry immaculates his head coaches and compromises their authority. Even Bill Parcells had to accept Terrell Owens despite wanting no part of coaching him. How can a couch discipline his team when the team knows he's not the boss of them?
  5. I understand that, but AAU only exist as a byproduct of our ridiculous obsession with amateurism. For 50+ years the money couldn't go to the kids directly so it goes to all these extraneous parts of the sport in lieu of going to the actual talent that could actually use it for development. American soccer is slowly starting to adjust to a European model. One day maybe basketball will as well.
  6. They dont play AAU becauee Euros are allowed to play professionally from the age of 13 on because they don't live in countries where amateurism is glorified to the point of absurdity for the expressed purpose of allowing everyone else surrounding the "amateur" game to make as much money as possible.
  7. “Our (University Interscholarstic League) rules say that you’re not eligible for varsity competition unless you’ve been in attendance in that school for one calendar year, so he actually played JV for us as a junior. … But, obviously, you can imagine he tore up every JV (team) that we played, along with our varsity defense as a scout-team player." Is this new to the UIL now? It's been over 25+ years since I played high school sports, but I don't remember that ever being an issue. We had transfers and even a foreign exchange student play for us in high school and that was never an issue.
  8. Has Tom Crean done jackshit since D Wade took him to the Final 4?
  9. In Jake's specific case he doesn't give a fuck. Being younger he got a ton of reaction, criticism, and negative feedback early on in his career on Twitter and it toughened him up. Bob on the other hand had a specific type of sports centered feedback when he was on Bad Radio and hasn't dealt well with the criticism he's received since moving to the Hardline. Part of it is a sign of the changing times with politics dripping into everything, but a good deal of it has to do with engaging with a somewhat different type of audience on 3to7.
  10. Bishop's hands are suspect as hell.
  11. I know Tech fans complained about Beard in close games but from my perspective he had an uncanny ability to grind out games and make them close and competitive when his teams' play in said game had no business making those games close or competitive. Our loss to Oklahoma St earlier this year was a prime example. We played poorly yet still had a chance and were a run away from winning it.
  12. Fucking A!!! We're a hesitant team. We went from coach "Sir Jack a lot" to Coach "don't you dare shoot that muthafucker"
  13. Great move by Mitchell. He just got a little off balance in the end. That quick post entry in the initial offense is our best chance to score with any level of consistency.
  14. What good is a back cut when all 5 offensive players are within 10 ft of each other?
  15. I'd get Kitna back. Kitna year was the turning point with Dak going from an overly cautious game manager to actually pushing the ball downfield and over the middle.
  16. While none of them are elite Ramey entered this season with a career 3pt% of 37% and both Febres and AJ1 entered the season with career marks of 36% (admittedly both AJ1 and Febres in particular have always seemed to be much more volatile with their 3pt shooting and could just as easily knock down 6 or 7 in one game while going 0fer 8 in the next game). I like @shadow_operative's idea of stretching out Tre Mitchell (and Disu for that matter) more often. We need to create difficult choices for the defense which will happen if we combine the movement we already have with better spacing. Permanently placing 2 guys in the lane with a 3rd guy in close proximately just makes things too difficult for our already unathletic guards to create any space.
  17. Our inability to shoot is exacerbated by our poor spacing. If we're going to insist on running Knight's version of the motion offense at least spread it out and align guys where we don't have 3 and 4 guys inside the 3 point line at all times. Davidson and even Gonzaga at times run a motion or continuity offense, but they've advanced it beyond the 1981 framework that never called for your guys to move outside of 15 feet from the basket. There's no room for anyone to shoot in rhythm.
  18. Yes, but it was clear that we rated Will Baker ahead of him.
  19. Muthafuckers essentially tried to turn Dr. King into Santa Claus.
  20. Surely you're not serious......
  21. Isaiah Taylor couldn't really shoot the 3 consistently, but he pushed the hell out of the rock and was decent scorer from the PG position.
  22. I believe we were supposed to play in either the early season NIT or another New York based holiday tournament (coach's against cancer maybe?) this season, but our participation was canceled and the hastily put together Abe Lemons classic took the place of those games. Every offseason around May or June @Lobo or someone else typically post newly scheduled games or tournaments for the upcoming year's schedule.
