  1. You're essentially trading him for THJ. What's not to like about it?

Is all Longhorn paraphernalia for sale now going to be adorned with that gaudy ass SEC emblem? Or can we still get items without that shit?
  3. We were top 40 in the nation in assists per field goals made last year with a team that didn't really shoot a lot of drive and kick threes. That stat and the lack of 3pters as a percentage of shots made doesnt really reflect an iso based system. We got a lot of assists off of backdoors and movement based cuts. This isn't the NBA, quit holding college players to NBA standards and you'll be much happier.
  4. But some programs have attacked the portal in huge numbers. As mentioned above, Florida State managed to climb to 7th in SP+ (and higher in the polls) before Travis got hurt. And Ole Miss, a team even more reliant on transfers (almost 50 in the last two cycles), finished 12th in SP+. SCHOOLBCR WITH TRANSFERS Ohio State 86% Alabama 82% Georgia 77% Oregon 71% Texas 70% LSU 66% Clemson 64% Oklahoma 63% Notre Dame 63% Texas A&M 63% Florida 58% Penn State 57% Miami 56% USC 54% Michigan 54% Florida State 53% Florida State is the largest positive mover, by far, when incorporating transfer ratings. The largest fallers are Texas A&M and Oklahoma, who took 40 and 30 transfers in the last two years, respectively, most of which were not high-end players.
  5. Speaking of which, Bud Elliot put out his blue chip ratio. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/blue-chip-ratio-2024-these-16-college-football-teams-can-actually-win-the-national-championship/ Enough talk, show me the list SCHOOLBCR Ohio State 90% Alabama 88% Georgia 80% Texas A&M 79% Oregon 76% Oklahoma 73% Texas 72% LSU 70% Notre Dame 67% Clemson 64% Florida 63% Miami 61% Penn State 61% USC 59% Michigan 56% Auburn 53% He starts discussing it at about the 32:40 mark.
  6. Yep, especially with the dismantling of public schools part. One thing that struck me when I first lived in Louisiana to work in my early 20s was how so many of my coworkers went to private schools from elementary through their high school years. Growing up in Texas, I always associated private school with rich kids, because, for the most, the private schools I was aware growing up in DFW were of the 20 to 30k a year variety. But after working their for a number of years it was clear that most of those private schools were just there for segregation purposes and the fact that Louisiana didn't fund their public schools for shit. A lot of the Louisiana private schools were nominal in their tuition cost and functioned as little more than day care centers.
  7. Perk gets a bad rep for supposedly bad mouthing Luka, but I've seen Perk big up Luka just as often as I've seen him criticizing Luka.
  8. I believe his Dad came DFW to help setup and eventually be a general manager for a car dealership before changing careers.
  9. He was in Frisco from like kindergarten or 1st grade through 10 or 11th. Then he went to one of those basketball prep schools (Findlay same school as Cory Joseph and Myck Kabongo), but his family has always remained in Frisco. So DFW has been home since he was 5 or 6 years old.
  10. Green card holders and permanent residents pay taxes as well. You don't have to be a citizen to be required to pay federal taxes.
  11. That's not really a great example of Ant playing poor defense. Kyrie received the ball in transition with Ant trailing him by 10 feet.
  12. You have to think about things situationly. Take for instance the times when Luka or Kyrie are blitzed in the backcourt. I'm much more confident in Lively's decision making and execution receiving a pass 20 feet away from the basket than Gafford's. And they're going to blitz the hell out of both Kyrie and Luka in the upcoming games now that they realize that their drop coverage is going to get destroyed by them.
  13. Lively is better defensively than Gafford and much better when catching the ball on the move and making quick decisions on whether to shoot or who to pass to, however Gafford is more consistent when finishing shots around the basket that aren't dunks or easy layups. I'm glad we have them both.
  14. Is there any entity outside of MLFootball and basicbluesnation.com reporting this? If so, you'd think this would be a bigger story.
  15. https://www.instagram.com/p/C6133rmORR2/?igsh=MThicnB3cWwyd243eA== Are we in on Kesean Pryor?
  16. Given the fact that similar comments were made about Mitchell at this exact same time last year, and that despite all of the criticisms of him, he has demonstrated nothing but a positive attitude and seems to be a good teammate (ie driving down to support Jabari Rice at Gleague games), I wouldnt be surprised to see him back if the Toppin recruitment falls through.
  17. The most poorly managed team in the NFL. I'm beginning to think that Ickes is on to something.
  18. I forgot who made the point but I thought it was a great one (I believe it was Wosney Lambrey of the Ringer basketball podcast). But to paraphrase part of the reason women's basketball couldn't draw fans in the past is because they couldn't match what was popular in the men's game, which of course was ridiculous feats of athleticism. However things have changed in the men's game and while athleticism is still a feature one could argue Step's half court bombs and deep shooting in general is just as much of an attraction, if not moreso than high flying dunks. And low and behold we have a women's star who can match that sort of excitement shot for shot with her male counterparts hence the women's game followed suit and increased in popularity.
  19. Looks like the WNBA is turning a different direction in marketing their talent.
  20. Note how early into the game Luka was already limping. Hollinger is right. If Luka was looking like that already after 4 games off then his injury is much more serious than the team is letting on. Contrast this with how Nelson and company treated Dirk after he tweaked his knee going into the 2003(or 2004) playoff series against the Spurs. Had this happened under the Nelsons Luka isn't playing.
  21. Taking Josh Green over just about anyone drafted behind him in that draft is almost as stupid as doubling down on that mistake and signing him to a 3yr $41million deal.
  22. Denver literally can't breathe right now on the court without someone on Minnesota stealing their air.
  23. Minnesota is a fucking problem. I know they were the #1 seed for a good portion of the season, but I didn't realize they were this good.
  24. Dan on the William Pace Show just might be the funniest thing he's ever done. Starts around 1:09:30
  25. He should definitely get minutes like the few minutes before the end of the half timeout where neither Luka nor Kyrie were in the game.
