  1. Well fellers, let's just say that a big box in the closet revealed more than I had previously outlined. Nephews have picked through. The remaining treasures will be posted here when I get time and a few beers in me. The only teaser I will provide is that the Texas Ranger boots posted above are no longer the prize of the stash. 8 pairs to go--some even have the cow shit still on the soles so you city slicker types can own at least one set of manly footwear that has been off the sidewalk. Here is the only pair that fit me. I am plenty happy to add them to my collection. Tony Lama lizard.
  2. These are 10.5 Most seem to be 11 I may offer up a few pair. Gonna hold back a few pair for his grandsons. For the others--I'd be glad to know they are being worn by you assholes.
  3. Check this out. Cleaning out the residence of my recently deceased father-in-law. He was a panhandle DA that was in place for a long time and had a reputation of putting people away. Anyway, he was the larger-than-life type of lawyer that would have worn boots with his suit daily. So I am going through his closet and come across boxes and boxes of boots. He was a bigger guy than me so I wasn't able to pinch any but one pair of lizards. Anyway, scope these. Not sure of the story, but I have looked and I can't find anything about Tony Lama ever mass producing a Texas Ranger branded boot. He had all kinds of "swag" around including some stuff from a governor or two. But these boots interest me most. Wife was going to put them in a garage sale this weekend, but I held them back.
  4. Kid and I tired of being cooped up. Kid decided that Grand Canyon would be a fun trip. I have never been and would like some advice on where to stay and then any must-dos if you have any. Looking to go July 13-18 and probably spend two full days there. And yes, I know to bring a jacket that time of year Thanks in advance
  5. Draw any random Red Hot Chili Pepper song from a hat.
  6. It can be monitored. It just needs to be connected via wifi I assume as opposed to through a landline. The company I called quoted about $250 to get it going. Seems like I can replace the system for cheaper/same price as that. Emailed SimpliSafe for a quote. When they sent me back a link to see the quote, my computer flagged it as malware. Lol.
  7. Daughter just moved into a rental house with an older, wired in home security system. She has asked me to help her get it working. Seems like it might be better to just get a new system--maybe one that I can install myself. Anyone have any experience with this stuff? Recommendations?
  8. Watched Parasite last night. Really enjoyed it.
  9. Tiffany's Restaurant at Lake Fork Marina Motel is a good stop if you're out for a drive. Don't leave without eating some of Tiffany's pie. https://www.lakeforkmarina.com/tiffanys-restaurant/ <teed-up-for-next-poster> But seriously, this place is pretty good--or at least it was last time I ate there.
  10. Recently inherited a farm house and four barns full of stuff south of Amarillo. I know nothing about farming, but there is a 2010 model (not year) John Deere and a old Oliver. Both are in great shape. The John Deere runs. Not sure on the Oliver. Also several box blades, etc, and a ton of tractor parts. I need to get this stuff sold. What is my best option? Call up a local auction house? Is there a good BBC-type place for tractors? Any direction would be appreciated.
  11. I knew Brent. He got the biggest kick out of holding that clipboard. He never took himself too seriously. I almost posted his name on this thread but assumed no one would remember.
  12. Youngest daughter requests paella every year for her birthday. This photo was about 10 minutes before it was done and the rice had absorbed all the liquid. Should have got a second shot.
  13. Bryant-Denny erupts every time that play is shown on the Jumbotron. And no one in Bama calls it "The strip." It is universally dubbed "The Play." True story--I had a George Teague autographed football that I acquired when an old Bama fan died and his sister sold off his entire collection for $100. Anyway, when I was shopping for houses a few years ago, I did a tour of the house from which I am currently typing this. On the initial tour of the property, I notice some Bama memorabilia and it is all from the early '90s. So I go home and work up an offer on this house. I offer $10,000 less than the asking price and I inform my agent that I want to write into the offer "a signed George Teague football." My agent is from Lubbock and is like WTF, who is that. I say "Just tell me if we can put it in the offer." He tells me that I can put any thing I damn well please in the offer so in goes the football and out goes the offer. Next day, my agent gets a call that the seller agrees to the deal and that his wife is pissed because they had received better offers that they had not accepted, but that the husband read about the football and laid down the law. Thanks George. And for defending the star as well.
  14. Cornbread salad is a crowd pleaser and one that people don't have very often. Double the "dressing" part on just about any recipe you find.
  15. Bass tournaments all cancelled because of COVID. Was supposed to have the championship two weekends ago. Qualified in the #2 spot and am itchin' to get to it. Guess we will hold it sometime this summer. Bag limit goes to 3 fish for summer-time tournaments here so I will need to think through a strategy that differs from the usual best-5 approach. May just throw a gizzard shad swimbait on deep breaks and swing for the fence. I don't think a bag of shakey head fish will do any good. I'll try to post a few pics from practice if I get any.
  16. Second attempt at deep dish pizza making. Getting better but not orgasmic. Ate those mofos up though. Pepperoni, bacon, Italian sausage, ham, purple onion, jalapeños, bell pepper, mushrooms, cheese. Hand crushed tomatoes with some basil from garden.
  17. Much better than I remembered it when it first came out. Maybe now that I have had some distance from Appetite... I can appreciate this effort more now than I did 12 years ago. Dug it up last week and have listened to it through 3 times. Still vibing .

    Bidet Meta Threas

Stardate April 7, 2020 mid pandemic. Captain’s log. Bidet has changed my life. Surly instigated the awakening. Three weeks in and I am at mid-power of the stream. Initially low pressure was only barely tolerable. Now, half way on the dial. Within 2 more weeks, expect to be at 100 psi.
  19. Those bell peppers are real sleepers. I highly recommend (not as ‘Rona cure although).
  20. Ships that Don’t Come In is a damn fine song and shows Diffie’s impressive vocal range. I always liked it but dang sure can’t sing along.
