  1. Just got back from London----->Manchester---->Liverpool for an 8-day work trip. Great cities all three and have been to London tons as well as Manchester. This was my first time in Liverpool and liked it. Distinct culture there for sure. Drizzly, rainy, snowy week though. Bit of a beating trudging around in that stuff--but was a nice break for a Texan.
  2. Went to the Tranmere Rovers match in Liverpool on Saturday where they took on Sutton United. First ever match of any kind/anywhere I have attended in person. Was a ton of fun watching the passion even at the minor league level. Froze in the rain and sometimes sleet. Great memory formed.
  3. I am just looking for a reason to watch. I make nothing on this. Obviously.
  4. I started a Venmo Squares game at $10 per square--pays $250 per quarter with 4th quarter being final score if it goes to overtime. I have only 11 squares left and would like to get them sold. PM me if you want a clear path to riches.
  5. Surly usually has a squares game going for the super bowl. This year or nah?
  6. Oddly enough, this song is eerily similar to The Best Yoko Ono Ever.
  7. Crocs? Does that right one have a tail?
  8. Hit play on that and then watched Homer on your avatar vibe along. Biggest smile of the day. I recommend it.
  9. I am in London regularly for work. In fact will be there again in a couple of weeks. It is less interesting every time I go. I wouldn’t spend more than a day or two there. Manchester has really grown on me and it feels much more real than London. Manchester Science and Industry Museum is a good one BTW. York is cool; Lake District is nice—especially in August. The Tattoo as suggested is unique. Edinburgh as been really crowded the last few times I have been there. Like people-every-square-inch crowded—and the Tattoo will make it worse. Still a beautiful city, but the smaller Scottish towns hold tons of charm. Last time in Edinburgh, I escaped the crowds one evening by going to Port of Leigh—a few miles out of the city. Great beer places and nice restaurants on the sea—and it seemed like all locals. Much more chill. Enjoy the trip.

  11. Joke didn't hit. Go get Bond back and the go find the center and teach him to snap the ball. Good first day.
  12. Did some looking and that vintage is worth a bit. So maybe the signature, might be worth something.
  13. So, I have this friend who was a chef in Florida and owned her own restaurant. Nice place. Anyway, one day Tom Smothers ends up there. Likes the food. He chats with friend about cooking for him at his tasting room and running the hospitality side. She is a bit of a hippie and wants out of Florida "where people don't appreciate her food" (her words) so off she goes to Sonoma County. Lives there on property and works with Tom for years until I think it sold or she quit--not sure. Anyway, when she left Tom gave her a case of wine where he had signed the bottles. A few years ago, she gives one to me. I had forgotten about it until I saw this thread. Went into dining room and found the dusty still-corked bottle.
  14. Watched Old Henry while wrapping some gifts last week. Enjoyed it, but it seemed to lack any real depth. I would recommend it for a way to kill a couple of hours and if you want to scratch the itch for watching a western.
  15. Not big TV watchers. Go weeks without turning it on. But watch lots of football and a few movies. Everything is streamed on Prime, Netflix--and we get TV through Youtube TV. Currently using a FireTV Cube to connect. Woke up this morning to tons of emails about cheap TVs. TCL 70" Class - S470G Series - 4K UHD LED LCD TV at Costco for $449 LG 70" Class 4K UHD 2160P webOS Smart TV - 70UQ7070ZUD at Walmart for $498 Is there anything I should be look for/cautious about? Any better rec? Thanks in advance.
  16. It was around William Cannon and First. 1994-1995. I can't recall the name of the place.
