  1. One piece. Both slides/necks have 8 strings each. The “necks” are mounted on a single base if you will. The back of the base has three threaded holes to screw in the legs.
  2. Found this in father-in-law's house west of Plainview after he passed. WTF do I do with it. I plugged it in and it all works. Nice case with legs, etc.
  3. I am a big believer in making long casts in clear water lakes. Add forward facing sonar to the mix, and bass are spookier than ever. My Lew's reels can sling a swimbait out of sight.
  4. @fattyflattie @huge Three tournaments weekends in a row and another this weekend before a one-week break. Fishing has been good. Feeling like all I do is fish or prep to fish. Not complaining. Anyway, as far as spinning tackle goes, it is like a sandwedge for me. If you see me on the front deck of my boat with a spinning rod in hand, you know I am in trouble and struggling. It is a last resort for me if I am trying to get a limit in the box. I do carry three with me at all times just because they make it so much easier for a Ned rig, dropshot or Damiki rig. But again, I see those techniques as limit getters and not a way of putting much weight in the boat. There is a time and place though. That all said, I am not going to spend big bucks on spinning tackle because I go into every tournament hoping not to pick it up. No problem spending money like I just did on a Metanium MGL baitcaster (super sweet BTW). For spinning reels I have settled on Shimano Stradic as you stated and/or Shimano NASCI, which is a damn fine reel for the money. Everyone I know who has purchased a NASCI as a backup has quickly worked it into the starting lineup. Here are some reviews: https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Shimano_NASCI_FC_Spinning_Reel/descpage-SNFS.html I will add that Diawa Tatulas have a strong following. I can speak to the Tatula baitcasters, and they are good-to-great reels. The other brand that has really impressed me over the last few years is Lew's. They used to be really special for certain applications in the '80s and '90s then fell off in quality. They are under new ownership now, and all my Lew's reels are fantastic. Not sure how they will hold up, but for the money, I find them hard to beat right now.
  5. Those are sweet taters homie.

    How is this legal

I googled "donk" so I could educate myself. This photo was in the article I read. Which one of you is this? You know which one I am talking about.
  8. Yep all three of those are very good. Fantastic story telling.
  9. Ch 349 on Sirius XM is Dwight Yoakum & The Bakersfield Beat. Fairly eclectic mix of songs and genres. About every fourth song is from DY. You never know what you will get for the other three. Found the station last week and have enjoyed it. In fact, I was listening on Saturday night when the song I posted directly above came on.
  10. Just came on the radio while wife and I were having steaks and wine. Hadn’t heard it in forever. What a great song.
  11. But them $119 per night resort fees tho.
  12. Cancun beaches were nasty, stinky messes when we were there last summer. Isla de Mujeres was ok but packed because everyone went there to avoid the seaweed. It didn't bother me much because there ain't no swim up bar in the ocean--so we would have stayed in the pool anyway. But the smell was pretty bad coming off those piles at times anyway.
  13. Looks like I may end up in Toronto for a week in June. I haven't been there since about 2005. I am sure a lot has changed. Recs on areas of town to stay in? Seems like Entertainment Districts and Harbor/Distillery District get the most love online.

    Heads up!

Something BIG is coming...for yo head. That really sucks. Hope it wasn't intentional.
  15. Couple of years ago I get a flat on a trailer outside of Justiceberg—between Post and Snyder—on the way to Lubbock. I hit the ditch to change it and have easy access to all my tools. No big deal. No less than 5 ranchers pull over asking if I need help. I didn’t want to mess with their treks home to get a beer so I told them all that I was fine, I appreciated the offer, and that they should get home after what I assumed was a long day working in the sun. Some of these guys took a lot of convincing, but they all eventually headed off down the road. I got the tire changed and was putting up the tools when one of the guys from earlier pulled back up. He says: “I got home and my wife poured me a glass of tea and I sat down to watch TV. But I kept thinking about you out here on the side of the road. Finally just figured it was better to come back than to worry about you.” Friends ask me how I can live out here. Sometimes I ask myself. But the story above is one of the reasons. No place like it for neighbors watching out for neighbors. Small town West Texas folk are generally good folk. I don’t agree with many on everything—but most of them will leave a glass of ice tea and some A/C to help a stranger. I’ll take it—and return the favor when I can.
  16. As long as you have been a member here, I find that hard to believe.
  17. Tatsu is the best I have ever used--and there isn't a close second. I buy it in 8, 10, 12, 15 and 20 lb test. For lift-and-drop bottom-bouncing baits, there is nothing better. It is outrageously expensive though and will encourage you to go braid to leader. Learn the FG knot and don't look back. I have recently tried a few spools of Diawa Samurai, and I am impressed with it as well. It is cheaper, but it still has the feel of high-end fluoro. For moving baits, there are lots of good cheaper choices. I bought several spool of P Line Tactical fluoro on sale last year, and it has been fine. If you want to buy just a good in-betweener that can do it all pretty well, SunLine Sniper is good stuff. For crankbaits and topwaters, I still like copolymer and McCoy's Mean Green has never done me wrong. Good combination of stretch, abrasion resistance and knot strength. Also cheap. Now braid is a different discussion.... Gearing up for my third tournament weekend in a row right now. Looking at my line supply, and it is a bit embarrassing. Probably 30 spools in my line case--not counting the ones I carry in the boat in case I blow up a reel.
  18. Thanks a ton NMAS. So I suppose I have to establish and provide verification/documents for what you state. I will start the roundup this weekend.
  19. Sold a rental property in 2022. Got my disclosure sheet and a 1099 on the sale. I am hoping I don't have to pay taxes on the whole value of the sales price. Can I turn in documents on original purchase price and a list of improvements with receipts over the last 5 years, and have those deducted from the "profits?"
