  1. It depends, but yes, the deleted ones can be recovered if he used an email client like Outlook, depending on what they mean by “scrubbed”. Also they can get the emails from the other participants and possibly other sources where they haven’t been deleted yet. With a multi million dollar investigative budget they have a lot of options.
