Why tf would he do that being in line to possibly start next season? Makes no sense, but then again the same could be said of a lot of transfers these days.
Idk why I was thinking Kobe Black was a 5*? No matter though, kid can play. It is cool the services are now ranking transfers on actual CFB production, much more accurate than those coming out of HS.
I'm ok with BloU having to retool their entire defense over the off-season..and right before beginning SEC play. Took us 3 seasons to get things right and it's still a work in progress in some areas.
I'd be onboard as well if it's an actual upgrade...not just coaching but recruiting as well, and recruiting doesn't seem to be an issue. I'm not informed enough to know who that may be, but if that coach exists and is available, I'm in.
We've had tons of DB's the past 15 or so seasons who had ups and downs as Longhorns yet went on to either have decent or really good NFL careers. I think we just need 4-5 legit NFL talent players on the field at the same time, and our recruiting is beginning to produce that. NFL DB coaches don't have some magic formula that turns chickenshit into chicken salad.
He won't be starting the season for an NFL team either. Not sure this is the best thing for JB since running backs are already devalued by the NFL and he won't be providing value right away to any team who drafts him. Having said that, hookem JB! Thanks for helping us to achieve what we did this year[emoji869]
I just watched it again, you're correct. There were already two huskies on the ground wrestling for it (one keeping Blue down) by the time he realized the ball was loose. He did make an effort, it was just too late.
The transfer thing was very short lived, seems like it didn't take much for Choice or Sark to get him down off the ledge. Seems like he wants to be a Longhorn and finish his career here, and after what I've seen the latter half of the season, (fumble issues aside) I'm ok with that. If he can hold off Baxter, Gibson and the other one coming in who's name escapes me then the dude has the chops to be RB1.
The last part won't happen with Bo as his coach, explains a lot. Kid is probably gonna be shocked into reality no matter where he lands. To be clear, I wasn't upset at losing McKinley, just didn't make sense why it seemed he was looking for a reason to not come to Texas.
Seems like anywhere but Texas, makes no sense. He and Bo have some sort of misunderstanding? Maybe Bo was tired the day McKinley visited and he mistook him for one of the jag DT's already on the team and told him "get out my face and hop in the motherfucker!"
Still a thing, but not as big as it used to be with bagmen making a drop right before the ALL-star game and parents looking shocked and surprised when the "wrong" cap is chosen.
I can't think of a single coach/assistant I'd straight up trade them for, and that hasn't always been the case. The Elk is just getting whatever he can as quickly as he can...just like Charlie and Tom. Hell, even Sark didn't get it 100% right the first time, but to be fair he was kinda busy until the 3rd week of January '21.
