  1. Was it called dead after his helmet came off?
  2. It is street parking for the most part. If necessary, there is a grocery store that closes at 7pm at the end of the street with a large parking lot. Some musicians travel with their own equipment. I also own my own PA. I have two Bose L1 line array speakers, 2 Yamaha 10" monitors, mixer, snake, assorted mics/boom stands, etc. I'm an AV tech by trade. If I need anything that I don't already own I can borrow from work. I haven't needed anything extra though. Most performers don't even want the monitors - the 2 Bose speakers are plenty. I'm not pulling much power so no biggie on that regard. My last performer is currently unemployed and walked away with over $500 - I could see him getting emotional while he was counting the money from the tip jar. Helping musicians survive is exactly why I built the stage.
  3. Yes, with a package of seeds (flowers, veggies, herbs, etc.) I tell people my barage is the lovechild of The Fillmore and The Mean Eyed Cat.
  4. I also create and print posters for the shows too. It's a lot of fun.
  5. Last night I hosted The Painted Hills for an intimate acoustic set. The hot day turned into a beautiful evening for live music, cold beverages, and good friends coming to my backyard stage to support live music and the artists that create it.
  6. My son tested positive for covid so we went camping. Fishing is a perfect quarantine activity. Willow is an adventure dog and was in heaven. Hiking and swimming with a bunch of rainbow trout skin for treats.
  7. I'll be hosting Nashville 12 string and fiddle aficionado Colin O'Brien on Saturday July 27th. If you're in the Portland area come out to the backyard and have a beverage with me.
  8. Willow and I went out to play some disc golf. She got hot and requested a dip in the creek.
  9. Here's a couple of videos from The Black Doors to give you an idea of what we're working with.
  10. My next show is on Saturday July 20th and features The Painted Hills. This is a side project of Topher Walberg of the Portland goth psych rock band The Black Doors. Topher describes his music as psychedelic Americana. I'm excited to see what he comes up with. He's been hosting a Tom Petty birthday party concert for the past 10+ years and also leads a Velvet Underground tribute band. Should make for a fun night.
  11. Need?
  12. Johnny Franco and his real brother Dom killed it Saturday night. They are highly entertaining on stage and gentlemen off. Johnny has presence and charisma in spades. Definitely going to book them again next summer.
  13. Time for an astroturf lawn
  14. Lots of good bands on that list. Wish I could make it down. Wine Lips, Teen Mortgage and Meatbodies are all must sees for me in addition to Black Angels and Osees, of course. Spirit Mother is interesting - heavy psych with twin violin players creating an eerie drone.
  15. I was in Vancouver BC in 2010 and on a whim decided to see a show. Went to the Commodore and saw, wait for it... Spoon with opening act Black Joe Lewis. lol
  16. It's from all of the lead in the tap water.
  17. Portland, Or (very) minor league baseball team is selling THC infused sodas at the ballpark. I might have to check out a game. https://www.oregonlive.com/sports/2024/06/portland-pickles-to-become-first-sports-team-to-legally-sell-thc-products-at-games.html
  18. Trump's tiny hands couldn't grip the ball let alone throw it.
  19. This is how you welcome us to the SEC?
  20. I saw of Montreal last night and they fucking killed! I only wish I had taken some mushrooms because the visuals were awesome. Really trippy. Had some video mapping going on with giant ghost like figures that doubled as the entrance curtains for the singer, Kevin Barnes. They had three "dancers" that came out in progressively weirder costumes for each new song and a giant balloon string that covered the audience. It was a blast. The whole crowd was bouncing the entire set. I hadn't seen energy like that at a show in a long time. They're playing The Mohawk in Austin on Tue 6/25 https://wl.seetickets.us/event/of-montreal/592455?afflky=ResoundPresents Trees in Dallas on 6/26 https://www.axs.com/events/527540/of-montreal-tickets?skin=treesdallas Highly recommended!
  21. Here's one of the songs that Mike Vitale played in the backyard.
  22. I was in Houston last week for a celebration of life. Immediate swamp ass. Good riddance.
  23. Of Montreal on monday.
