Leckie was the worst character imo. Totally whiny college boy, at least Sledge was tolerable.

He probably had a few things to whine about.  On Guadalcanal they didn't have insect repellent among other things.  It took four months to secure Guadalcanal.   The battle of the Bulge (Bastogne) was about a month long for the 101st.

It's been awhile since I saw it but I thought it kind of changed who it was following through the series as it went through.

It follows guys in the First Marine Division.  The guy who won the Medal of Honor on Guadalcanal was on Iwo when he died because he transfered to the 5th Marines.

The series is a companion piece to the 2001 miniseries Band of Brothers and focuses on the United States Marine Corps's actions in the Pacific Theater of Operations within the wider Pacific War. Whereas Band of Brothers followed the men of Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment through the European Theater, The Pacific centers on the experiences of three Marines (Robert Leckie, Eugene Sledge, and John Basilone) who were in different regiments (1st, 5th, and 7th, respectively) of the 1st Marine Division.

Maybe one of these days I'll go back and try again but I just didn't find it very engaging after the first episode or two. Perhaps it was because it didn't follow the same "characters" all the way through the series.

It does follow the same characters for the whole series.

Murphy, Pryor, Chapelle, Rock.  That makes it so difficult is because while this is obviously a Top 12 list of black comics, the four I mentioned are probably 4 of the top 10 comics of any race of all time.

Chappelle and Rock aren't top ten any race are they?  Maybe if Rolling Stone made the list.

Yes, there was. Up until it got shut down. And it did get shut down. I don't even know what your argument is.

Of course it's closed when it's closed.  But when it's open it's open.  Even during corona if an area is closed the public land is still open until it's not.  I'm just letting people know that because this is the ski thread.  It's not the bummer thread.

I never said they are closed to skinning up right now, i said they have been closed in the past and could be closed again.

You are free to skin up the mountain with no snow right now. Would probably be a lot easier to walk, though.

I'm pretty sure there was plenty of legal skinning at Colorado ski areas all last spring.  Ski area closed but public land open.

So you don’t have a link?  One that says the ski areas are closed to uphill?

    There is no snow, assclown.

It’s Friday night and you’re mad at the internet?  Is it because you can’t back up your statement?

    And the resort’s insurance carriers

I’m not sure about that.  I’ve seen people skin up ski areas even when they’re open.  Not having to buy a lift ticket is the point.  Insurance can’t do anything about it.

I seriously don't know if the mountains will open.  CO is at its highest numbers (including hospitalizations) since the pandemic started and numbers are still going up.  Looking really ugly for this winter.

Colorado ski areas are open for business right now.  You can ski today in Colorado.

Under the authority of the state of Colorado, and the resorts that operate on National Forest land.

I know there's no public lands in Texas, but you don't know what you are talking about.

So you don’t have a link?  One that says the ski areas are closed to uphill?

You wanna bet? National forests were closed much of this summer due to fires. And they were closed in the spring due to the Rona.

Stick to what you know. Clearly this isn't it.

Sumner and spring aren’t winter.  Under what authority were ski areas closed to uphill traffic?
