  1. Literally get the 3 best safeties in the country and he thinks we missed on him.
  2. To begin his first term he walks into a bank panic, an auto death spiral, a housing market meltdown, and a general recession with the bank panic forecasted to do multiples of the damage it did and to last for significantly longer, the auto industry's complete bankruptcy expected (and in many cases called for on the right), the housing market slide + foreclosure issue having no end in sight and with many forecasting the recession to be a double dip recession and/or on par with the Great Depression. After having handled each issue in a way that caused the damage to be far less than what was expected while simultaneously getting some much needed, albeit watered down reforms through, I don't see how you can argue he is incompetent. You can disagree with him politically, but after his first term I don't see how his competence can be called into question at all.
  3. Tbh if anyone deserves it, Cat does.
  4. I don't think anyone has an issue with thousand dollar handshakes (inflation is a bitch) but bidding wars is where I draw the line.
  5. Exactly. This isn't Ohio State or Alabama or the rest of the SEC minus Vanderbilt for that matter where dirty games reign king and in most of their cases where everything is subservient to football (despite that some programs like aggy suck academically and at football). We're Texas. We'll play the multiple hundred dollar handshake game and I'm largely okay with that but we're not going Auburn and Cam Newton style anytime soon or Texas A&M with wire and mail fraud style anytime soon for football. Or at least I hope we aren't.
  6. 6 figs doesn't get you a bag. You can make six figs easy straight out of college in tech and your average young engineer can't be a bagman.
  7. Super K has earned a long leash from me but wtf is that Evans blurb lmao just say what we all know. They aren't recruiting him because they already got their two RBs.
  8. We literally did just that last year lol
  9. God damn it. Would have been so nice to have him. The lack of being able to to use him on D in certain packages will really hurt and it would have been nice to have options like him as a WR
  10. So this is obviously way too early, but what does our ideal class look like? QB (1): Preston Stone OL (6): Tommy Brockermeyer-Hayden Conner-James Brockermeyer-Bryce Foster-Savion Byrd + one of Djax, Fatheree, ? RB (1): Camar Wheaton WR (3): Shadrach Banks, JoJo Earle, maybe one OOS? TE (1): Devon Martin DL (3): Landon Jackson, Tunmise Adeleye, Marcus Burris LB (4): Flowe, Blackshire, ???, ??? CB (2): Latrell McCutchin, ??? S (2): JD Coffey, ??? Those numbers leave us at 24. So put 1+ spots wherever you think it's needed.
  11. I was really hoping this would get us to a 1000 by itself; alas, it seems the great Burt Macklin has stymied my grand design.
  12. He'll likely be just as interested in what Michigan and Ross have to offer unfortunately (or more likely Stanford BA/BS into MBA)
  13. Who knew firing a dirty coach would produce such quick results?
  14. Imagine pretending that Jeff Fisher wasn't the issue when he killed every QB he touched since McNair. He made the second best young QB in the league look like a bust. Like Jesus if you make Goff look like a bust and are a perennial 7-9 guy just maybe you should get the blame for sucking when a QB that ignores you on his way to a RotY and 2 Pro Bowls is broken by you.
  15. Nah I think he meant Grimes. Never heard of the WV guy but damn he is highly rated.
  16. The basketball forum should be locked and this should be the only visible post.
  17. That has to be stupidest line of argumentation I've ever seen in my life. He may not be #1 but how does him being on GSW disqualify him from being the best player in the world?
  18. That was real bad. I was wondering what the hell had happened
  19. The Red Wedding resulted in the Brotherhood killing a bunch of Lannisters and Freys. Killing Catelyn turned Petyr and thus brought the Knights of the Vale to the North. No one could prove she blew up the Sept as everyone who knew her plan basically died.
  20. Jaime clearly lied to Brienne. He is going to try to kill Cersei and most likely die trying. Tyrion was implying that she has a high chance of losing and even if she won she'd be ruling over ash. Ned lied because so long as Robert was alive nobody could know. He also swore to Lyanna not to tell. Robert is now dead. He swore an oath to no one and in fact Sam wanted him to tell the world and Bran put him in a position where he had to tell when he said your choice. The stupid part was not showing their reaction. That would have been interesting to see. We know Sansa reacted favorably but what about Arya? I actually liked Varys discussing his desire to flip. He's always claimed to serve the realm and this sets up the potential for an interesting next two episodes. Seemed relatively in character for him. Ditching Ghost like that was fucked. That was such a shitty scene and totally out of character for Jon.
  21. And she had little problem with letting them run amok until they fucked with her kid. Hell even her own humiliation at their hands which helped cause her to snap didn't result in that level of retaliation. But I actually have a problem with how little blowback she suffered for that.
  22. I mean yeah she is a poor commander who has a penchant for ignoring advice when angry.
  23. I don't think even Cersei ever killed anyone during a parley. Generally a thing that isn't done.
