Hate to go all the way back to the beginning but after reading through half of page 1 I'm about ready to skip to the end. Muslims blowing shit up is a trope so common in Hollywood that it is practically cliche at this point. There isn't much portrayal of Judaism or Hinduism negatively, but that's largely because there isn't much portrayal of them at all. I can't think of the last time I saw an ultra devout character of either religion. Everyone now and then a largely non-practicing or at least not overtly devout one of either religion finds their religion as the butt of a joke, but that's about it. Not much positive portrayal of either though or Islam for that matter, whereas for Easter, we're getting treated to Breakthrough, a movie where the F-list version of Melissa McCarthy shows the liberal doctors and scientists that the healing power of God is stronger than anything they can do. Let me know when any other religion gets that treatment. You literally have to be a Christian to win election as President and just about any other major election in 90% of the country and somehow Christians are getting a bad rap in the media?
EDIT: oh shit there seems to be a nice discussion on epistemology and metaphysics that has been going on. Maybe this thread is worth something.
I agree with your prediction of W/L, though I guess my evaluation of team strengths gets to it in a different way. But yeah I am pretty confident our OL and DL will come out looking strong at the end of the season. LB (other than B-Backer) and TE have me really worried, but other than that I'm not too scared about starting position groups. An injury to Ingram terrifies me. Other than that I'm pretty happy with where we are. I really like Kerstetter and he played well last year. If he gets moved inside because they trust Christian Jones, all the better.
People said the same about Omenihu and Nelson last year. He was a smaller step down than people argued, albeit a noticeable one. Omenihu was a step up.
I largely agree with your ratings, though would bump up OL to Big XII Championship level and bump down punter. The OL returns three great guys at the center and tackles and adds an all-ACC guy as a guard. One guard spot is up in the air but the competition for that position is talented and with the other four spots being pretty trustworthy I like our odds there. As for why I would drop punter, is just that we haven't seen any reason to believe he'll improve to that level yet. Even Dickson took a fair bit of time to figure it out and it's entirely possibly he busts. I think he'll get it together soon enough, but we shouldn't take it for granted.
I'd also bump up DL two levels. Roach back in position, Taquon opposite, and Wilbon in the center will be salty. Couple that with some really solid backups in Coburn and Ojomo and I think this will be one of our better units. I'd also knock TE down a level. We have no reason to assume we have a good blocking TE and while Brewer is decent at catching passes, we don't get nearly the same wrinkles out of the offense if he isn't a really good blocker too. And considering how much receiving talent we have, I'm not sure how useful having him on vs an extra WR that could motion into the backfield/an extra RB that could motion into the slot would be.
We aren't putting a true freshman at LT. But yeah 22 and 23 he's our guy. 21 could be one of the elite 20 guys we get or one of the high potential picks from 18 or 19.
Please, we've had plenty of bleating in here despite everything going correct. We've had the Oscar Giles talks, the Kate is dating Pete Davidson talks, the sky is falling even though the setting of our scene right now looks like the Windows XP background, the Satyanash special, the Katfid racism, and so much more. But I suppose for a Shaggy/Surly thread, that's pretty fucking good.
Yeah the Palo Alto food scene is much better than Menlo Park. But yeah for anyone under 45 Austin is a better city to live if you want food, fun, and a whole lot more.
Eh, while it can slice and dice better than any DE I've seen to date, it has a terrible three cone and shuttle time which leaves me worried about how he'll perform at the next level. What do we know about his hand size?

We're not recruiting him, but it is interesting to see a corch on the field that could actually be a good thing.
Almost certainly a misquote. Kid either meant out of the west coast or or out of the Pac 12, not out of state. Or he just made up the quote altogether, because let's be real the last real sports journalist to cover recruiting was Gerry Hamilton
Holy shit a self aware aggy? I am actually a little kinder than he is. I think he could be a slightly worse version of Boyd as a CB. That being said he could be a pretty good Safety.
For Washington
THE PICK: Texas
WHY: “I am picking Texas.” - Josh Eaton
So, uh do you think we can put Eaton in the calculator or do you think he knows where Washington is going and doesn't want to answer why?
I'd bump Dorbah and Sanders and drop both Lindberg and McClellan. I'd also drop Omeire. I used to be higher on him but after seeing his camp performance and rewatching film I don't think his style will translate well. I'd also bump Thompson, Garth and Mims up. At this point maybe I should just write my own list and see what I come up with.
I think we should just admit we failed (with an asterisk that if you count the 140 odd pages or however long the thread was on Shag, we passed the 1000 mark long ago) and keep this purely about grad transfers with the occasional hand size digression. Maybe kate if needed for good luck for Braun. 2020 will make it without this artificial nonsense.
