  1. I am pissed because I set a limit order at 0.69 that got filled and added 2k shares to my position. I should have been smart and bought 6,969 shares and made even more money.
  2. Jesus Christ AMYZF below 1...still holding but Jesus this hurts
  3. Correct and mega correct. HR and marketing still get paid handsomely there but nowhere near that much. All comments about high salaries will be for software engineers unless noted otherwise as that is my field and the field I'm most familiar with.
  4. I mean the first year they get pretty massive signing bonuses in cash and then they get end off review cycle cash bonuses as well that get their W2 income pretty close to 200k at Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Apple and well over it if you're a returning intern starting at Facebook full time. My friends that worked at FB as interns and returned got an offer letter for ~115k base + ~200k RSUs + ~100k cash bonus. So you definitely can get 200k+ first year out in base plus signing if you want to do the math that way. Or if you prefer to the math with an amortized TC (the way I and most others prefer to looks at it, you still get there when adding on average performer review bonuses+amortized RSUs/signing bonuses).
  5. What's the Surly hive mind consensus on ALPP?
  6. The fact that Mexico isn't particularly special is my point entirely. CONCACAF should be a breeze for any self-respecting national XI. This is a pathetic joke. Any defense of it is a sign of the pathetic culture America has for soccer. Being the best is the standard we hold ourselves to in every sport we give even the slightest damn about whether it be club or national from basketball to beach volleyball. Suddenly for soccer our standard is below qualifying for the damn tournament year in and year out?
  7. Yeah but they're in Europe where there are limited spots and it is actually hard to qualify. This is fucking CONCACAF. The only hard thing should be beating Mexico.
  8. I said many trips, not monthly. The monthly trips was in reference to 3 Michelin Star restaurants. Pre-COVID in one year I think I took a month long trip through Asia, a two week trip to India, and then 14 round trip domestic trips (I choose to fly domestically more than most of my fellow techie friends since I a) love America more than them, b) was a Texas football season ticket holder pre-COVID despite living in California (don't worry, I made sure someone went in my stead when I couldn't make it), c) love America more than them) all while managing to afford eating quite nicely. This is in California. California is expensive but nowhere near as expensive as Texans like to make it out to be. Also no one who can afford to live somewhere else lives in Arizona. Arizona has to be among the worst places west of the Mississippi to live.
  9. No one who heads out West feels like a poor when they make 200k+ their first year out of college lol. Look at their insta stories and you'll see them living lavishly if they are complaining about a lack of savings (many trips to Japan/Korea/Taiwan + monthly trips to French Laundry/Quince/Atelier Crenn/Benu/SingleThread and biweekly trips to places like Chez Panisse or Zuni or whatever else)
  10. What is going on with ALPP? Still holding. Should I be? I feel like it's dropped a lot (50%ish) on no bad news.
  11. That's cute if you think governments are as corrupt as the SEC. Only government on part with SEC type corruption relative to the rules binding them is in Albany. Other than that, the dudes in government look like saints compared to how crooked the SEC is. They wipe their ass with the rules and laugh as they show their shit-covered rule book to the NCAA.
  12. Agreed. Denver Harris is the biggest need player because of sheer value over replacement player. OL is the biggest need group by far though. We need 5-6 guys there of which 3-4 need to be those big name guys we're chasing. Agreed that Campbell is the one closest to being without comparable replacement of al the OL targets in this class.
  13. Yeah but that would require you be tethered to reality and know that they have 1 and not 3 national titles and they have no conference titles since Y2K.
  14. Same but with 20....this shit is fucking hilarious
  15. This. I am convinced until I see something to change my mind that large parts of the market are fraudulent and that if we get to close to the edges we'll find out once again exactly what length the financial powers that be will go to box us in. The reaction to Gamestop has soured me even harder than 2008 for summer reason. There I figured they were hustling us and we got beat. They definitely lured us into a false game but at least it seemed that if you could outplay the big guys you could still win. Here it seems that once the big guys realized they were outplayed that they flipped the table over and shot us. I'll hold the GME shares I was willing to run into the ground but I'm extremely reticent to buy into it again. My faith in US capital markets has been severely shaken and I'm not quite sure what it would take to recover it.
  16. AMYZF almost single handedly carrying my gains
  17. Looks like my best buys are no longer at Fry's...guaranteed will miss the jingle, the little personified microchip, and the actual times in the store.
