  1. I’m pretty sure he’ll just try to use Kansas as a stepping stone to get a better gig. Kansas belongs in the FCS in football. 5 wins a year and he’ll have them playing great football for their standards.
  2. And yet, he could only get 1 playing in a down B1G for most of his years, with arguably the biggest brand name team in college. Must’ve been the migraines. At least he can teach his leadership and morals class at OSU moving forward. I like how when someone has success in the SEC “we” eliminate them from counting. Smart.
  3. I know, and I brought up facts that still shows the SEC is winning more over the past 10-15 years than other conferences...Basically everyone is saying take Bama out of the SEC and they’re average. But if we’re doing that you need to take away every conferences’ best team and/or coach, they all look worse. Take OU out of the Big12. OSU out of the B1G, Washington PAC, Clemson ACC... you know, since we’re saying take Bama out, we need to keep it equal and do it for all conferences when making these comparisons.
  4. Only one of those were Saban’s. But I guess you’ll say Les had his recruits. Either way, count whichever way makes your numbers look better. 3 is still more than any other conference, and that’s with cherry picking your numbers.
  5. I stated earlier in this thread, of the last 10 non-Bama national champions, 5 still came from the SEC. The next closest conferences have 2 each.
  6. Good game guys. UGA apparently left their offense on Bourbon St, much of it to do with your defense, but a lot of dumb mistakes as well. That led to UGA's defense being on the field a little too much. Ehlinger was the difference maker, he made a ton of great plays. Congrats, and please beat OU for the Big12 title next year, and we'll try to knock Bama off their perch. Deal? Good luck on national signing day and next season. Cheers
  7. I’d point to bowl records and OOC records against the P5 if you want to know there are still pretty good teams outside the top few SEC teams. Or number of players in the league that help boost that mythical defense and speed aura. But either way, we can agree to disagree. Good luck to you guys today, hope it’s a great game. Cheers
  8. Yes or no. Do you think the SEC is the best overall conference?
  9. Agreed. And to be clear, the conspiracy theory statement wasn’t aimed at you. Moreso someone else above.
  10. The SEC is also apart of CBS, so that’s equivalent to the Fox deals with other conferences, agreed? I didn’t realize I was going to need to break down every dollar and percentage breakdown for these TV contracts... my main point stands, ESPN is pretty much equally invested in 4 of the 5 major conferences. If anything, the ACC is the only all-ESPN conference, shouldn’t they be pumping them up to support all these theories?
  11. Ok, you’ve convinced me, it’s a conspiracy, the SEC is trash. They are held up by the powers that be at Disney... The non-Bama SEC national champions facts above (as you’ll notice, that no one has felt the need to debate) are irrelevant. The SEC’s bowl record, OOC record against the P5, being named best conference by numerous non-ESPN outlets nearly every year, most players in the league, by far best recruiting classes, etc. are also irrelevant. Please note, outside of my first two smart ass sentences above, I’ve stated nothing but facts. Please have facts, instead of generalized theories, when you reply.
  12. The B1G is Fox and ESPN. Ever notice all those B1G games on ESPN, cause I have. They have a lot of money tied up in 4 of the major conferences.
  13. Please see my last comment, why would they only push 1/4 of the major conferences they cover? Or do I need a tinfoil hat to understand?
  14. That’s why I said “pretty much” every conference, meaning almost all of them. 4 out of the 5 major conferences they have covered, yet they’re “biased” towards one of those 4... that doesn’t make financial sense to eliminate 3/4 of the fan bases/schools you paid a ton of money to televise. Perhaps the SEC is pretty good at football. If you still doubt the non-Bama SEC football prowess, please reference my non-Bama SEC champions above comment.
  15. ESPN is invested in pretty much every conference. So you have no point there.
  16. I don’t really watch ESPN, unless there’s a game on. They stopped caring about sports & highlights and care more about pushing a political agenda... but if you want ESPN to stop pumping up the SEC, other conferences need to start beating them more regularly during bowl season or the regular season. Looks at championships by the SEC not named Bama. Of the past 10 BCS/CFP champions, not named Bama, 5 still came from the SEC. The next best conferences have 2. And if you remove Bama all those years, that would mean many times another SEC team would’ve taken their place in the NC. UGA would’ve crushed ND in 2013, LSU would’ve won when they rematched Bama, UGA would’ve won it last year, and so on. See why they think the SEC is good now? Thankfully UGA & UT got scheduled years down the road. Should be some epic games if Kirby and Herman keep building these teams.
  17. Here's how those teams rank in scoring defense; #4 Bama, #30 LSU and #16 Auburn in scoring defense. Just curious, do you consider UT on these teams' level regarding defensive ability? Also, LSU was 27 points, and Bama was 28 pts. So, it's interesting you drew the line at 30, is it because it helped get 2 more games in there that support your "theory?" And again, I already referenced the turnovers and special teams previously in this thread, as if they don't count or something? Are defense and special teams not allowed to help you win games and get points? UGA is #11 in scoring in the nation, and #7 in points per play. I know you're trying to educate your fans on UGA, but you don't seem to have a very good grasp on UGA yourself. You sell them short when and wherever possible... Now this doesn't mean that I'm guaranteeing a UGA victory, as that's why they play the games, just so we're clear. I think it should be a good game and may the better team prevail. Cheers
  18. UGA beats UT in every passing statistic besides two categories; # of attempts, which then leads to overall yardage being to your advantage. Give Fromm the same amount of attempts as Ehlinger and Fromm wins the total yardage category in a landslide as well. I think both teams are potent in the passing game, they just go about it in two totally different ways.
  19. Mecole Hardman is the most likely to run jet sweeps, although UGA has 3-4 guys that will run it. Here's his sophomore highlights from last year with a few sweeps in there. He's also top 30 in KO return average and #2 in the nation in punt return average. His a 4.3 forty guy, that runs track at UGA. He was a dual threat QB in high school (recruited as an athlete), played CB his freshman year at UGA, and just switched to WR last year. So, he's still pretty green at the position, but is getting better and better.
  20. Mizzou had an interim OC calling plays, and Heupel was not there. I'm sure that had a little something to do with it. Could be similar this game, but in reverse, UGA doesn't have its DC for this game, so could cause some confusion on a new person calling the plays.
  21. I'm assuming you're talking about Mizzou last year. I wouldn't consider them your typical SEC offense. If anything, they are a Big12 offense. Heupel, then at Mizzou & now at UCF, runs a spread offense.
  22. Please reference @So_co 's stats above about Auburn holding UGA's offense "in check."
  23. Are turnovers and special teams not apart of the game? Is UT immune from turnovers or having to play special teams? I'll never understand why people just want to exclude the stats they don't like. UGA averaged winning by 19 points. over those 5 teams you mentioned being a pattern (for reference, UT did not beat one team this year by 19, while UGA averaged that against 5 SEC foes you mentioned, with two of those being top 15 teams)... Regardless, it should be an interesting/good game, especially with UGA missing its #1 CB, and now UGA's #1 DL and #1 LB are game time decisions to play.
  24. That’s what OU said last year about if it got to a track meet.
