  1. I’ve been looking for that for a while now with no luck. Where are you located?
  2. To change things up I went single patty, pepper jack, grilled onions, cilantro lime sauce on Texas toast and then added jalapeños when I got home. Pretty tasty as a change-up order.
  3. Enjoyed some Stagg Jr. (batch 13) and an Eagle Rare with an Alec Bradley Tempus stick. Happy 4th, fellas.
  4. Pretty dumb of them to do that if you ask me. The store picks are a great buy at $60, but a proofed down version is nowhere near worth $100.
  5. Get yourself a KC 15 year store pick and save yourself 40 bucks. Also, the proof on the store picks is 120 compared to 100 for the KC15. With these new KC age stated releases this year (12 and 15) I have a bad feeling that the 12/14/15 year KC store picks won’t be around much longer. I hope I’m wrong.
  6. Finally landed a Rebel Yell 10 year single barrel. I got lucky on the Total Wine app this afternoon and was shocked when they confirmed the order. During the drive to pick it up I kept telling myself that someone grabbed a Rebel Yell 100, but sure enough they got it right. I’m shocked that something so allocated made it to their app for sale. Hopefully this is a good sign for the future.
  7. I was passing through Blanco this morning and stopped in a small store just to see what they had. They had OWA for $129 and Weller 12 for $225. First time I’ve ever seen either in a store, but still passed.
  8. The letter is the order of the batch. The first number is the month of release. The last two numbers are the year of release. ECBP has three releases— January, May and September (thus, 1/5/9) Typically for ECBP, the C release has been the best release of the year, but B520 is supposed to be the tits. Will be tough for the C batch to top it. Though I have yet to try B520, the proof is down a bit from previous batches, but still packs a punch. I’m betting the bit of lower proof is letting more flavor through and you’re not getting as much ethanol on the palette.
  9. C won’t come out until at least September. The number represents the month of release 1=January, 5=May 9=September
  10. There’s a group called “Texas Tater Marketplace” that you can join after answering a few basic questions. There’s a good amount of daily posting activity on both the buying and offering sides. Good luck!
  11. Yeah, it took me like six months to find the regular stuff. I’m not gonna hold my breath finding anything else.
  12. I’m enjoying a nice pour of Blanton’s tonight, and while it’s very good, I’m finding more and more that I prefer higher proof pours. After the last few weekends of drinking ECBP, Larceny BP and a 15 year Knob Creek single barrel store pick, this 93 proof Blanton’s tastes like water. Now I understand what everyone says about how Blanton’s is quite overrated and not worth the hype.
  13. Good. Fuck professional flippers.
  14. I went to TW this morning at opening along with a few other hunters and this seems to be the case. The staff said anything allocated would be on the shelves. The BT and WSR that’s usually kept up front was on the shelf.
  15. I read in another group that I’m in that TW no longer keeps allocated bottles up in front of the store and now put everything on the shelves. Apparently that started this week. Have any of you guys seen that this week?
  16. I went to a location here in SA today because their system said they had some Knob Creek SiB store picks in, but it turned out to be a mixup with their online inventory. They offered to sell me their last Masters Keep BiB, but I didn’t feel like dropping the $175 for it. I’ll probably regret it later, but c’est la vie...
  17. I have a MMPS from Alamo City Liquors and I really enjoy it, but I have a regular RRSB that I enjoy a bit better. Once I polish off that bottle I’m going to get a RRSB pick from TW and hope it’s better than the regular bottle. The TW by me has their pick of RRSB for like $63, which beats their MMPS by like $8.
  18. I snagged a Spec’s 1792 Small Batch pick today. Have you tried that one before?
  19. Where did you find yours? I’ve had no luck in SA at Total Wine, Twin Liquors, etc.
  20. Has anyone found Rebel Yell 10 year single barrel? I’ve been looking for like two months without any luck.
  21. Nice. I scored one myself today at Total Wine (Sunset Valley). Lucky for me I got the last one they had.
  22. I’ve been lucky the past few weeks with EHT. A couple weeks ago I strolled into a Total Wine and they had a Small Batch sitting up in front on their allocated counter for $36. The Single Barrel had a tag on the shelf at Spec’s, but the shelf was empty. I asked the guy if they had more in the back and luckily they did. I’ve seen a decent amount of EHT small batch around recently, so maybe Texas got an allocation in the past month or so.
  23. I think my biggest issue with these local brands is that they are way overpriced. I see other craft brands on the shelf (like the Woodinville you mentioned) at a way lower price point. I could understand a limited release like Balmorhea getting an inflated price point, but cannot comprehend who would pay the $70-$80 asking price for their regular offerings.
