Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?
Brian Kelly has a near-Jimbo level buyout, like $50mm, so I don't think that happens. Michigan, USC, TCU are probably safe too. Solid chance Aranda is out at Baylor. He was on the bubble last year so another bad year probably gets him canned. Auburn is an interesting one. I thought Freeze would do well there but hasn't happened. Stanford currently has an "interim" head coach Frank Reich so I assume they look for a permanent one. He isn't exactly crushing it anyway. On the other side - Fran Brown is going to be a popular name. He claimed he was at Syracuse for life when hired but we'll see... Lastly - can Sark hire Pittman as an analyst to help with the OL? Please?

Texas Recruiting Notes 2027: I remember watching his dad play
Right but isn't there supposed to be a clearinghouse now that decides whether NIL deals are legit? Clearly Campbell, who is extremely tight with the current administration, isn't worried about it at all.

Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
It's a huge difference maker. Look at the best QBs in CFB the last few years - Ward, Daniels, Nix, Penix, Dart, now guys like Pavia, Beck, even Castellanos and Mendoza. The common theme is they all had multiple years of starting experience before they became studs. Experience matters a lot at QB.

So I guess it's safe to say Mr Save College Sports isn't too concerned about following the current rules? Sounds like they're blowing the revenue share pool our of the water

What does Brad Spence need to do to get more PT? Yeah mostly against scrubs but he's looked like the best pass rusher so far this year

Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
Makes sense to get Littleton some CB reps against SHSU but not sure about moving him there full-time during the season. Sorta depends on how they feel about Mack at nickel. You don't want to end up with two problem positions if Littleton struggles on the outside. Hopefully Kade, Kobe and Roberson can get more reps this week. Ideally one of them steps up and Littleton keeps doing what he's been doing (which will get harder in SEC play).

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
I heard a rumor that fans were heckling Heid leaving the game. I assume it was drunk college kids but if it's anyone on here - be better. Or go fuck yourself. Or both.

Has anyone ever said what's wrong with Wisner? Would be nice to get him 5-10 carries to shake off the rust this week

2025 Texas Coaching/Support Staff Thread
Barry Lunney from Illinois seems like another interesting OC name. Spent 2 years at UTSA before that

2026 QB Dia Bell
Luckily he's a QB, not a RB, and he'll have 2+ years to heal/strengthen before he takes any hits. Wouldn't expect it to be a problem long-term.

Texas O-line talk
What's weird is that the OL looked oddly good vs OSU and then dogshit against the two cupcakes. Both run and pass. The James Simon stats are insane - I don't remember the exact numbers but of his 72 yards, like 95% came after contact. Just zero run blocking.

2025 Texas Coaching/Support Staff Thread
Is it time to fire up the OC/QB coach wish list? Idk if obtainable but Will Stein (prob a HC soon), Shannon Dawson, and Kirby Moore seem interesting. Maybe Buster Faulkner from Ga Tech. Idk where to start in terms of NFL guys but seems like a lot of schools have had success with that route

I wonder if Neto told the staff he's redshirting and transferring last week. Just odd that he would get 0 snaps with Stroh playing like this.

Who are these reporters? "Why don't you play FCS teams?" who tf cares

Milwee likes being taller than someone in the room

Coach Sark Press Conference 9.15 - 11:30am
Questions I would like to hear Sark get asked: Who is doing the QB coaching? How involved are you? Did Arch try to change his mechanics this offseason? Do you see a difference in his mechanics vs last season? At what point do you actually change the red zone approach?

Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
Yeah he was never going to open up the playbook against SJSU and UTEP for a lot of reasons and that's how most top teams operate. That's perfectly reasonable. Although now he might need to just to get Arch some easy throws for his confidence

Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
Tbh the OL struggles probably should have been more expected than they were. 4 new starters are going to have growing pains. We all sorta overlooked that. I don't understand Stroh over Neto though. The Arch stuff is still weird. Watch his every pass video from the MSU game last year - he was hitting everything including some very tough passes. It gives me hope that he still has the somewhere but clearly he's gotta get his mind right to find it. I'm also 100% on board the fire Milwee train. Over his time here, Ewers improved but not as much as anyone expected. Arch has regressed so far. Owens looked good in the spring game last year but apparently can't crack the top 3 over two newcomers. Maalik was shaky at best in year 2. I'm less worried about playcalling than whatever the fuck this guy is doing with the QBs.

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
And yet Trey Owens has apparently reached the point where they don't trust him to be 2nd or maybe even 3rd string so they took an emergency QB from the portal. Good job Milwee

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
I want to know who is actually doing the QB coaching. Sark or Milwee? My guess is more Milwee since Sark has so many other responsibilities. Because yeah, the mechanics and the seemingly mental struggles of Ewers and Manning are eerily similar. Might be time to hire a better QB coach

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
All these recruiting/high school related takes ignore the fact that Arch looked very damn good last year. Not perfect but accuracy was not an issue. Something has changed in the past 8 months. My guess is it's purely mental OR he unwisely tried to change his mechanics.
