  1. I don't get it, what is he saying cap about?
  2. Give this man a raise damnit! This would suck
  3. 1 million bucks to finish in the top 12. Does ATM know the playoff is expanding next year?
  4. Is Sexton also Stoops' agent? If so that Elko deal had to be a hilarious negotiation. Stoops makes $9m so I assume ATM offered something in that ballpark. Then they reneged and offered Elko, but obviously Sexton would know exactly what they were willing to pay Stoops and would probably be pretty pissed at the stunt they pulled. Plus at that point Sexton/Elko had ALL the leverage. So while normally Elko may have gotten a ~$6m offer from ATM, it's very possible that Sexton was able to push them way higher than that because of the Stoops fiasco.
  5. I mean honestly I would believe it. It's impossible to turn UK into a championship program and at some point in life, making $8mm vs $9mm is probably nothing for these guys
  6. Nebraska DC Tony White went to high school in El Paso. Could make sense for UTEP. Traylor to UH makes too much sense. Although Fritz would be a strong hire too. If UCLA moves on I wonder if Fisch could end up there.
  7. What's sad about all this is that we'll never know how much money they were going to pay Stoops. He was already making $9mm at UK..
  8. He can get an NFL HC job. Probably could've last year. And he's an NFL guy. He ain't taking a college job
  9. We aren't passing a 1-loss Oregon team. They're already ahead of us, just beat Oregon St (vs Tech for us), and would have to beat UW (vs OK ST for us). Committee isn't going to jump them based on this week and next if both win. I think our two realistic paths are 1) Bama beats UGA. Still very uncertain if we'd stay ahead of Bama even though we should, or 2) FSU loses to UF or Louisville. Highly likely we would jump them in that scenario. There's also potential 1-loss conference losers in play - would we definitely be ahead of 1-loss UGA, Washington, or even tOSU? UW would have a case considering they beat Oregon earlier and hard to leave out double defending-champ UGA. It'd be messed up if any of these teams went ahead of us but you never know..
  10. Surly has a serious challenge grasping the concept of players getting better year over year. Maybe fair bc of the Herman era but still, it's funny. Obv that doesn't mean he's guaranteed to get better but you'd expect him to. Same with other positions.
  11. I think best case scenario is QE to come back and Arch takes all the 2nd team reps all next year. That gives us the best chance next year but also get Arch some important development. Of course MM might have a say in that but if the coaches think Arch is the future, he needs to get all those 2nd reps. Also, lol at thinking Quinn "is who he is" at this point. He's a sophomore. QBs get better well into their pro years. QE has been much better this year and I'd expect continued improvement next year.
  12. It was interesting that Catalon came into the game in 4Q yesterday. I didn't see him during the first 3 quarters. So I guess he's healthy enough to play but they're just not confident in him? Surprising
  13. This is where I'm glad I'm not a ref. Idk man
  14. I mean that doesn't mean Blue is a good teammate / locker room guy. Maybe he is now, I have no clue, just saying it's not necessarily the same thing. Speaking of which, if Brooks comes back I wonder if Blue sticks around..
  15. Does this game matter for our playoff chances? Could the committee possible put the loser ahead of us assuming we win next week? Let's not pick on other teams for their QB's long-ball accuracy lol
  16. Credit to Looch for calling a spade a spade regarding Ryan Day (and sorta with Deboer). Straight up saying the Day rumors are ridiculous and Day hasn't actually shown interest
  17. Hmm so P5 coach that supposedly isn't Elko, Fisch, Kiffin, or Lanning. I think Looch also said they'd have to wait for Deboer if he was interested and same for Day. I think he also said Rhule was unlikely. So who does that leave? My top guess would be Leipold. Others that have been mentioned a decent amount include Klieman, Dykes, and Jonathan Smith. I'm assuming the Lincoln stuff was dumb noise. I also wouldn't rule out 247 being wrong about Elko.
  18. It restores a little faith in humanity that at least some Aggie boosters have the moral strength to draw the line somewhere
  19. Lincoln does seem like he'd fit better in the NFL than college tbh. Hates recruiting and having more mature/professional players may help alleviate his issues with team toughness/discipline. And yeah, Chargers with those weapons would be a good fit for him. Could easily open up this offseason too.
  20. Out West could mean Deboer, Jonathan Smith, Fisch, or I guess Lincoln. Deboer leaving still doesn't make sense on the surface but who knows. Smith is in an interesting spot. OSU is his alma mater but they're getting left behind in the conference stuff. He's also born in Pasadena, CA and UCLA is supposedly opening up. Tough choice if he has to make one. Fisch would probably jump if offered. Lincoln is supposedly making $11mm/year at USC over 10 years (no idea how much guaranteed). Even if you take off 10% for state taxes, that's a major contract for ATM. I don't see it. Not "Out West" but Rhule has a 8 year $9mm/year, 90% guaranteed contract, plus incentives. Recruiting to Nebraska must be impossible so maybe he'd consider leaving, but seems unlikely imo.
  21. It is quite funny to see the lack of self-awareness from Aggies bragging that money isn't an issue even after Jimbo's buyout. Do they not realize that it should be an issue? Tons of schools could theoretically pay $20m to a football coach but no one else is dumb/childish enough to do so. I mean, shit, Stanford could dominate everyone financially if they gave a crap, but guess what, they'd rather fund computer science buildings and stuff that is actually productive to society.
  22. Seems about right. I think Rhule is pretty solid too. Sounds like Lanning and Kiffin are out. If ATM pays for any of those guys on top of Jimbo's buyout though, it will be truly embarrassing. It'd be like $20mm/year in current/former football head coach salary. For a "school"
