NIL Recruiting News Megathread
Kirk Bohls with this report: With the addition of 10 football players out of the transfer portal and probably one or two more on the way, the budget for next season’s Texas roster has grown as well. It currently sits somewhere “between $35 million and $40 million,” which counts the likely revenue-sharing allotment expected to be $20.5 million as well as payouts through the Texas One Fund, a connected source tells the Houston Chronicle. This also figures to be a one-time exorbitant expense because athletic director Chris Del Conte and others have said the school plans to phase out its collective in favor of the revenue-sharing via the House settlement and with the move to name, image and likeness payouts through corporations. “It’s just unsustainable,” the source said of the high payouts. “The next season after this year, the whole world will be back to reality.” The source declined to reveal how many Longhorn players will command at least a $1 million salary because such transparency foments comparative discussions and locker-room chaos. … Head coach Steve Sarkisian applauded quarterback Quinn Ewers for not taking money from the Texas One Fund although the Texas source said he got some but was paid the bulk of his money by corporations “so Texas could have more good players around him.” … Quarterback Arch Manning is “by far the highest-paid Texas player,” as expected, but doesn’t take a dime from the school. He and his family acquired all his deals on their own “with no help from the school.” Texas Longhorns will spend between $35-40 million on football roster

Texas Offseason 2025 - Archmania Is Upon Us
I hear you but that's a lot easier to say when you don't have a guaranteed $50 million contract on the table in front of you. Might also depend on who is drafting at the top. We all remember the Eli saga. Going to Cleveland would be a lot different than, say, hometown New Orleans.

2025 OL Nick Brooks
Suspend him a couple games for speeding at 2am while high but also for being a dumbass and telling the cop he's high and going to 21+ clubs. This certainly isn't a bad offense for a college kid but good learning opportunity. Can't let blatant stupidity go unpunished even if it's something 90% of people have done in college.

We will see how they feel IF he is looking like the #1 pick after the season...

2024 Houston Texans Season Thread
I don't see anything to indicate they upgraded the OL this offseason. They shipped out their best OL in Tunsil, added a few JAGs like Trent Brown and Cam Robinson and drafted the one 2nd rounder. Probably better depth than last year but I don't see an overall improvement on the starting line unless someone improves quite a bit.

2025 NFL Draft
A lot of talk about Quinn but why did Cam Williams fall so far?

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
I was actually thinking Miami would be a good spot for him before the draft so I like that landing spot but damn, I did not expect him to drop so far behind guys like Mertz. He and Cam Williams should have stayed in school

Some of these GMs truly blow my mind with their decisions. Only ONE OL in the whole draft? Graham Mertz who has like a 1% chance of even making the team?

2025 NFL Draft
Damn how tf did Quinn fall to the 7th, behind Graham fucking Mertz?

2024 Houston Texans Season Thread
Did I miss the part of the CFB season where ISU had the best WR room in the country? I'm cool with the first one but the second one seems unnecessary after adding Christian Kirk. Should've taken like 3 OL by now

2025 NFL Draft
I forgot Bo Davis was with the Saints now. That's cool that he got Broughton

2025 NFL Draft
Terry Joseph really hooking up his former guys yesterday. His new team picked Banks and his cousin is the DC for the Broncos who picked his former pupil Barron. It will be interesting to see how the Broncos use Barron with Surtain, Riley Moss and their existing young nickel. Also, interesting note, on the ABC telecast Saban said Golden wasn't a good route runner when he got to Texas but became one here. Great recruiting material.

Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor
Kind of interesting that the staff seems to be prioritizing portal additions with multiple years of eligibility left. Mosely, Brad Spence, Kanu, Endries if it happens. They don't seem as interested in the one year rental types other than DT where they didn't have much choice.

Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor
Pete Nakos with a Jack Endries CB for Texas

Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor
Seems like we should go all out for the Cal TE and the Texas St. kicker. Then get 1-2 more DTs and call it a day.

College basketball coaching carousel: 2025 edition
I had a feeling ATM was going to back into a better coach if Buzz left. Was hoping he'd stay, he never worried me. Beard is a massive upgrade on the court if it happens

UT's next basketball coach - discussion/debate [Sean Miller Hired]
Paying players before it was legal is pretty different from DV...

UT's next basketball coach - discussion/debate [Sean Miller Hired]
Miller should be an improvement over RT but it's not an exciting hire. The guy has been mediocre at best the past 6 years. He was good in his first Xavier stint and at AZ while he was paying players under the table but pretty weak since he got busted.

UT's next basketball coach - discussion/debate [Sean Miller Hired]
A little surprised I haven't seen anyone mention Eric Musselman. I know his last 2 years were weak but before that he was a top name. Not that different from Sean Miller.

UT's next basketball coach - discussion/debate [Sean Miller Hired]
Well if the typical CDC timeline holds up, this means the replacement is ready which means it's probably not someone who is still in the tourney. In other words, it's Miller time meh (unless there's an absolute stunner with Mark Few)

UT's next basketball coach - discussion/debate [Sean Miller Hired]
Sean Miller would be exciting if the last 6 years didn't happen. But they did. Pretty meh. I want Otzelberger. Would be good with Tommy boy Lloyd too.

UT's next basketball coach - discussion/debate [Sean Miller Hired]
First time I've watched Michigan just now and that offense is impressive. Idk if he's an option but I'm on team Dusty May now

Texas Offseason 2025 - Archmania Is Upon Us
I am very interested to see how much Sark lets Arch use his legs vs. protecting him from hits. We know Sark wants his QBs to be pass-first and limit hits but that running ability is a major weapon. Tough balance to find there.

Xavier Worthy - Chiefin'
Why tf was he hanging out in Georgetown? Regardless, the Chiefs are one of the teams that will slap him on the wrist and happily let him back on the field. They've proven that over and over with other guys. Still, what a shithead if true

2025 Texas Coaching/Support Staff Thread
He said P4 coach "from last season" so there aren't many names that fit the bill. Who else besides Mack and Neal Brown? Ryan Walters is the DC at UW now.
