  1. With the caveat that I can't see who was open on TV that Card missed...I think all this Card criticism on here is overblown. He is accurate and strong-armed on short and intermediate routes. His mobility came up big even with his injury. He seems like a good "culture" guy, for lack of better words. Yes, he is awful on deep balls. I think he basically has the yips at this point. And the processing still seems subpar although again, I can't tell on TV. Pocket presence used to be a nightmare but seems to be improving. So yeah, Ewers is clearly the guy but I'm glad to have a guy like Card as a backup, especially once he's back to full health.
  2. And no sacks on Harris iirc. That guy had amazing pocket presence/elusiveness.
  3. Kinda looked like their QB got popped high on the last play too which is what I assumed it was. Idk though, have been wondering like everyone else.
  4. Nah Jimbo barely even suspends felons like Mckinley Jackson. Marshall probably has like 8 or 9 more screwups before he gets kicked off lol
  5. Where are your examples if you're so knowledgeable about the subject?
  6. It's probably not common at all because it would require the QB getting a surprise injury in the middle of the week. Example: this game. The opening line already knew Ewers was out. I think you're right in the NFL but college is a different animal. If Wright played the full game vs Bama, we would have been lucky to score 10 points all game, much less in the first quarter like Ewers did.
  7. I always believed it was one of the major issues and that he was aware of it. I just didn't know if he could fix it. Watching that first Nebraska game only cemented that thought. But I'm not ready to say it's for sure fixed yet. So far so good but let's see what happens if they have a bad loss or two. That'll be the real test.
  8. Random thought experiment - what do you think the line on this game would have been with a fully healthy Card and with a healthy Ewers? Line opened at -14 and is currently -12.5. I'm gonna say it would've been around -18 with healthy Card and -25 with Ewers.
  9. Even with our QB situation, I don't really understand how the line is as low as it is. And that's exactly what concerns me. Vegas isn't dumb.
  10. So this, Evan Stewart retweeting how the scheme sucks, and Chris Marshall allegedly walking out mid-practice. Sounds like Jimbo has everything under control!
  11. A lot of interesting stuff on there. One that stands out -- Yards before contact per rush = NEGATIVE ONE...that's no bueno
  12. Maybe so but I'm sure his coaches and aggie fans wont like it one bit
  13. Yeah the DLs for UTSA, Tech, and WVU are nowhere Bama's universe, on paper. But still, the OL needs to play well in pass and run. Obviously need the D to keep playing well too.
  14. Pretty sure Nebraska is a downgrade for Aranda, Stoops, and Pittman. Maybe Klieman too.
  15. Well it's an SC sprain so pretty sure this is irrelevant
  16. I'll be a little surprised if King starts this week tbh
  17. Next couple weeks are gonna ride on the OL. Card is fine with good protection and the running game is gonna be critical.
  18. Damn I didn't even know about Bijan. I assume he'll be ok since he came back? This is becoming one of the worst injury seasons I can remember when including Neyor and Junior
  19. All-time weird decision. Season is fucked, why not wait 4 weeks? Those cornfuckers better not steal Patterson from us before the season ends
  20. I would think so but who knows. Tbh it concerns me a bit that Ewers didn't come back because it sounds like people often do with an AC sprain (ie Drew Brees' comment).
  21. Wtf happened on the OL the the QE injury play? Looked like the play was designed to roll left where we had two receivers and one defender, but Will Anderson came through untouched and Quinn had to spin around to avoid him. Also, Bijan needs new cleats. Dude slips like every play.
