  1. If tweeting at recruits is bad, what's the view on asking recruits for text screenshots with coaches then posting them and tagging the recruit? Sheesh that Doc guy needs to take a break
  2. Traylor voted UTSA 19 and left us out of the top 25. Would love to hear the logic on that one.
  3. Intriguing. Iirc they didn't post this last year until they had an agreement with Gary. I can only assume this means Sean McVay is joining the staff. And/or Kliff. More seriously, sounds like maybe Riley Dodge. Or maybe he circled back to Cutcliffe with Arch on board?
  4. In two years with sark, the guy produced a Heisman and 4 first round picks. Then another 1st rounder and Metchie the year after. His WR room had one down year, I'll still take my chances on him. NIL can do the recruiting for him. My only concern is the mass exodus of Bama WRs this past month. Maybe they were processed but sorta seems like he lost the room..
  5. So does anyone know why the hire would be Justin Johnson? Seems very random. Baylor RB coach with only 1 year of WR coaching experience (at Kansas)? I don't get it. Kelly, Wiggins, Colbert would be my top choices.
  6. My guess for Kliff in order of likelihood: 1. TV gig 2. Take a year off 3. NFL OC 4. College job, likely Bama or in a big city like USC or Miami
  7. Yeah I wasn't saying they're the same thing. I was adding that as a separate factor
  8. I agree. Underrated but I also think we need a guy who brings some "energy" like Marion did.
  9. Valai came from Rutgers I thought. idk Hooks also seems to be on an elite level as a trainer. Plus he has a lot of personal history with Sark. One thing is for sure - he'd instantly stock the room with tons of talent. Might be tricky for his non-pupils though.
  10. Hooks posted this same thing 3 times (different articles). Maybe he's interested?
  11. Sheesh people, Hartline is not making a lateral move anywhere. Doubt Simmons would move either. I like Malcolm Kelly, Emmett Jones, Wiggins. Don't know much about Colbert but seems pretty solid. Also, obligatory question - could Margin Hooks be a candidate?
  12. Connor was our swing tackle this year so I wouldn't be surprised if they move him to T full-time. He wasn't very good at G. I just want to see Campbell take the next step and win the RG job. Anyone know how he graded out against Baylor and UW? Those are the only real non-garbage snaps he's gotten. My hunch is that we end up with Banks-Hutson-Majors-Campbell-Jones, with Connor backup LT and Cam backup RT. Although Neto could make some noise somewhere too.
  13. Also the trainer for Stewart, Johntay, and Neyor. Kinda can't believe he actually said all that out loud..
  14. Imo Calipari is like Jimbo. Excelled by playing the bag game better than most, but not really special as a coach. With NIL, his biggest strength is no longer really an asset. Here's another longshot wildcard name - former Austin Toros HC (lol) Quin Snyder. Currently the Jazz coach but in the last year of his contract and reportedly turned down an extension last year. Quite a few summer articles about how his future was unclear. edit: there's also no f'ing way we're paying a bball coach $9 mil a year like Cal is getting at UK.
  15. Ouch. Beard's Tech buyout was only $4 million.
  16. The potentially realistic home run list for me would be Oats, Lloyd (kinda doubt he'd leave though), Muss (also doubt he'd leave), and Jay Wright (sounds like he's not 100% retired for good, maybe by then he'll be ready). Extreme longshots you could at least call - Billy Donovan and Brad Stevens. I know, I know, it's dumb to even mention them but you never know if they have a hankering to get back into the college game.
  17. Agree with all this. Like you said, doesn't make sense to wait this long and fire him without an investigation, if that's true. Either fire him immediately, gather more info and then fire him, or wait for the legal process to play out. Of course, maybe they did gather facts and Beards lawyer's letter is wrong. Also agree that he does have a legal avenue. Theoretically, if he were completely innocent and falsely arrested, I doubt they could fire him for cause. Obviously we don't the facts and how the legal process will unfold, but we know what he'll argue.
  18. Even their homer accounts are trashing this one
  19. He literally ran a player to death and had a supposedly toxic culture at Maryland
  20. Glorious
  21. How many safeties is ATM trying to stock up on? With Demani coming back, both starters are staying, plus they added that young guy from FSU, on top of the other youngsters like Jacoby Matthews that are already there. Random, likely irrelevant thought, but I wonder how well he knows Baxter from recruiting him to FSU
  22. I'm skeptical we can land a guy like that who (rightfully) thinks he should be a clearcut starter. More likely we end up with a grad transfer or small schooler guy imo
  23. I've only been watching this UA game for a few minutes but saw him do it on the only route I saw from him. He did shake the shit out of the guy on a slant (but didn't get thrown to). You'd think Margin Hooks would coach that out of him
  24. Cook loves the little hopstep right before his break. Can guys do that in a real game or does it throw off the timing too much?
