Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
Yeah I'm talking all positions though, not just QB

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
FWIW, PFF has Quinn as the second highest graded player of the entire semifinals, both games. Behind Penix of course.

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
Is it just me or were a lot of receivers loafing on that play, even AD? Seemed kinda strange. Also wonder if Blue would've broken open if QE had more time.

This is who Steve Sarkisian is.
UW was always going to be a bad matchup for us. Their biggest strength (Pass O) is our biggest weakness (pass D). Hard for coaches to suddenly change that especially when the QB is on fire like that. We got his very best yesterday. That said - it wasn't Sark's best game. Team came in tight/sloppy, we should've run the ball more bc they couldn't stop it, the last 4 plays sucked, and while not as impactful putting a one-handed guy back at returner was hilariously dumb. Also, Daboer is a really good coach. Regardless - great year by Sark. You live and you learn. Glad he's at UT.

But from what position and on all 3 downs?

What role is Trey Moore supposed to play for us? Seems like he's too small against the run to be a typical DE like Burke/Sorrel, but we need his pass rush bad

Gotta agree with a lot of what both sides are saying here. The secondary needs more speed and the lack of development at safety is concerning. At the same time, Penix dropped multiple perfect balls into good coverage last night (that's what she said lol). Brooks and Watts in particular seem like good corners but struggle to keep up on deep balls. Although again, they were right there on a few last night that were just perfect throws/catches. Not much you can do on some of those. No doubt the safeties are slow other than Williams. Need more speed there for sure.

CFP Semifinal: Texas vs Washington - 7:45pm on ESPN
Penix is a baller but I've watched a few UW games this year and last night was the best I've seen him by far. The dude was placing the ball wherever he wanted, avoiding the rush perfectly, just totally on his A game. Our lack of pressure hurt and our coverage was just OK but we just ran into a buzzsaw with Penix and those WRs on fire yesterday. Otherwise, we got thoroughly outcoached in that game. Sark is the man and this isn't a "fire sark" comment, but yesterday wasn't his finest work. Among the most questionable aspects: Our RBs were getting 7 yards every carry, why didn't we run it more? Who is the genius that decided to put a one-handed man at returner in the second half when Blue was doing it fine in 1H? One of the most bizarre decisions I've seen. Shocked that he muffed it immediately! Not all on coaches but the team looked tight early and overall sloppy. Killer false starts / other penalties, two soft fumbles, jittery offense especially early. That was nowhere close to our A-game. edit - how about only 1 catchable pass in the end zone on the last 4 plays of the game. Wtf!

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
This. Those extra years are HUGE for a QB. As some coaches have publicly said, it's fucking stupid that we have 6th/7th year QBs in college football these days. Such a big difference.

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
A reporter on X said they have been able to ask Quinn questions yesterday and other days but this is the only day with the whole team, and that this was lats 5 minutes of Quinn's 45 minutes of time. So basically they had already asked Quinn all their questions but only had this one time with Arch

I don't like this for some reason

Jeez is he just gonna fill his whole staff with UT analysts?

If Bama and tOSU wanted Trey Moore, I suspect they'll want this Purdue kid too. He's gonna have a ton of lucrative options. Seems like a good get for whoever

2024 Transfer Thread - The Pedantic Circlejerk
Posted this earlier when it was in doubt but seems to me like Moore may be the biggest prize in the entire portal so far. Look at the list of top-tier teams that pursued him. It's pretty much unmatched. Huge get.

2024 Transfer Thread - The Pedantic Circlejerk
Losing out on Moore would be a shitty blow. Bad botch-job if so. Wonder how Bama made up so much ground so fast. This may sound crazy but he might be the most-coveted portal guy this entire cycle so far. Who else had a top 3 of Bama, Texas, and tOSU or something similar?

Thought I read somewhere that the dream school quote was fake, no? Who knows

Aggy 2024: Still waiting on the Looch 44
Man I'm really starting to realize the value of a head coach's rolodex. We saw how much it hurt us with Herman, we see how valuable it's been with Sark, and now we're likely seeing it with Elko.

This is truly a Trust the Corches situation for me. They've done a good job managing headcases like Agiye thus far. If they think Evan is worth the risk, go for it. If not, I get it

Ben Davis wasn't a culture miss though, pretty sure he was actually a really strong culture guy. He just wasn't very good on the field.
-
2024 Transfer Thread - The Pedantic Circlejerk
Yeah I'd take him if the money wasn't a factor. I think it's ok having a couple culture risks as long as you monitor it carefully. But I wouldn't pay him whatever I'm sure he or his circle will demand. Plus, we have a roster opening at flaky dramatic WR due to the Aeryn Hampton flip.

When that 5* hasn't beat out the guy they just let leave, it doesn't inspire a ton of confidence imo

Aggy 2024: Still waiting on the Looch 44
It's truly hilarious and I've wondered the same thing. I haven't seen anyone else do it. I mean aren't they basically announcing that they "re-signed" these guys which is pay-for-play and technically a violation? Obviously the NCAA won't do anything and everyone else is paying too, but still... Seems incredibly dumb but what else is new

2024 Transfer Thread - The Pedantic Circlejerk
Arch silliness aside, wtf is Ohio St doing at QB this year? Seems like they just let McCord go and have been totally complacent getting a replacement. Can't think of any top portal QBs who have reportedly visited them. They just planning on rolling with Devin Brown?

So is Mukuba more of a nickel of safety? I thought safety but may be wrong
