  1. Kiffin is gonna crush it at LSU or Florida. The dude has a stud offense everywhere he goes with whoever he plugs in at QB. Get him some top-tier talent on defense and watch out
  2. Why do you think this is? I've thought the same this year (maybe January and Jelani have improved?). But the last couple years have seen guys with tons of improvement.
  3. Question: Is this how any of y'all would talk about a player that fucked your wife? "He's a fantastic player," Sark said late Thursday night. "Matt showed everyone how fast he was with that 40 time, but his short area quickness, how he gets in and out of breaks makes him truly elite. He has extremely strong hands, makes contested catches, can do it at all three levels – whether it's the short game, the intermediate, the deep balls – and he's at his best in the most critical moments. You top that off with the blue-collar attitude he has, the fact that he's a great teammate who you can really count on day in and day out, that's what really separates him. He works, he's no nonsense, he's tough and does the dirty work blocking linebackers, safeties and event defensive ends. All in all, I think this guy is getting all that he deserves, and Green Bay is going to love him."
  4. Hilarious that a week after The Athletic puts out that horrendously dumb Arch article, Surly completely falls hook line and sinker for another piece of their clickbait. As for the Sark offseason stuff, I have no clue but something does seem fishy
  5. Don't forget Maalik looking lost when he played and Trey Owens regressing to 4th string in year 2.
  6. Doesn't help that 3 of the top 4 WRs were hurt all offseason either. What does Huff do now and how much does it matter from a football standpoint?
  7. Any assistants from PSU, Florida, etc that we'd want? I wouldn't mind bringing Stan Drayton back (ducks)
  8. I mean, contrary to what anyone expected when hired, he's done everything damn well except the OC part. Recruiting, NIL, player development, defense, etc. There are lots of reasons why he would still be the coach.
  9. Time for the weekly Surly reminder: Sark isn't going to divulge anything meaningful to the fucking press nor is he going to throw any coaches or players under the bus. Coach speak is coach speak and that is very normal. Let's see what he does this offseason before deciding if he's a blind idiot or not.
  10. Has there been any more insight on Chatman? People have alluded to an injury and I can't remember seeing him play this year. Seems like he could be a solution at LG if healthy.
  11. Dillingham, Lea, and Brent Key are interesting situations - all 3 are at their alma mater and could be still considered somewhat "1-hit wonders" at this stage (ie can they do it consistently or have they just lucked into a stud QB for now?). Does anyone have enough confidence in them to do what it would take to pull them away? My guess is not yet this year.
  12. I don't know what happened to Goosby this offseason. He was so damn good last year against some tough opponents. He's doing OK this year but nothing like what we saw. He and Arch have been the biggest headscratchers this year because we saw what they could do and it's just not happening this year so far. The other 3 OL (besides DJ) were always question marks coming into the season, we just didn't expect this level of shittiness. Neto also a major headscratcher. Idk what he could've possibly done to go from 1st team all offseason to still not seeing snaps behind this LG shitshow.
  13. Umm key phrase "for the rest of the 2025 season"...
  14. That's my only explanation for how lopsided coaching contracts have become. Sexton basically has a monopoly on coach representation so he has all the leverage. The buyouts are wild on their own, but what's dumber is that the coaches can leave for pennies. That gives them all the leverage to renegotiate their deal whenever they have a good year
  15. He's a Vandy alum and Nashville native so that would be tougher than you'd think. But also, he was doing very poorly before Pavia and the New Mexico assistants arrived so idk if I'd trust him tbh.
  16. What are the buyouts for assistants like Flood and Milwee? And if it's the full $1.5mm for Flood, do you can him now or spend that $1.5mm on portal OL this offseason?
  17. Oh I think I see what you mean now. So there are enough shaded tents you can hang out in without track views, there just isn't much shade while watching the cars?
  18. I read somehwere there were a couple others, I think Turn 19 and 4 upper rows. Is that wrong?
  19. Is there a decent amount of shade for GA tickets (on Friday)? Trying to decide whether we do GA or spring for something covered which is obv more expensive. Never been before.
  20. Elko is about to be a top-5 paid coach (by A&M) imo A lot of early Matt Rhule speculation for PSU. He played there.
  21. Haven't read the article and don't plan to. The Athletic has been clickbait trash for a long time now. Not worth the time to read it even if it were free. Unfortunately they're getting a lot of clicks out of this one..
  22. Also - NFL teams take a light-contact offseason approach because the players have a union and have negotiated that as part of the CBA. If the coaches were allowed to go full pads year-round, you can bet your ass they would do a lot more of it.
  23. This. Not sure why anyone expects anything but coachspeak in pressers and that's for every coach nationwide. What do y'all think he's gonna say? He's not gonna openly tell the fucking media what he really thinks, nor should he
  24. This is one of the most mystifying things on the season for me. Not only sacks but we're 99th in TFLs. It's basically the same players and coaches so what happened?
  25. It's definitely hard to read the field when you're having to play human frogger in the backfield from the second the ball is snapped. Can't look two places at once. I guarantee Lagway wouldn't have done so well if he got even half as much pressure as Arch did. As for the slow reads, we probably should've expected that more than we did given his inexperience vs high-level opponents. That's pretty common for first-time starters but hype-train rolled too far. Will he fix it? Who knows. But there's a good chance that improves over time.
