  1. That was also one day after Cincy clinched the playoffs. I suspect Fickell was on the list
  2. Yeah not over yet I suppose. I'm not saying to fire everyone but clearly something wasn't working. Even if not on-field, I expected changes to the support staff, etc.
  3. So are we done with staff changes? Players are about to arrive on campus in like a week. Can't believe nothing has happened other than Coleman/Drayton. Good thing our defense was SO well coached last year
  4. Imagine still thinking your program is taking the high road after hiring notorious slimeball Jimbo Fisher, multiple offseason player arrests, continuing to let an indicted felon play all season, blatantly cheating at historic levels, and possibly hiring a coach that literally got one of his own players killed.
  5. Dude you just need to embrace it and come out of denial. Everyone knows that A&M is paying record amounts for guys like Walter Nolen, Enai White, Denver Harris, and Evan Stewart. Otherwise none of those guys would have even considered A&M. It is what it is. I understand why you don't want to believe it but you just gotta accept it and move on. Enai White, Deyon Bouie, Leveon Moss, Anthony Lucas, maybe Shemar Stewart. But yeah I'm sure kids from all those places just love College Station and really want to play for an 8-4 team with no DC and no champs in 80 years, all because "got Jimbo!"
  6. So OU hired a rape enabler OC and Aggy might hire a DC that killed a kid. I guess we know where our rivals' priorities lie.
  7. I gotcha. Who knows. I would've thought the most likely spots were USC, OU, Miami (depending on OC), Ole Miss, UGA, UNC, in that order. With Clemson a sleeper. OU clearly out with the Gabriel news. But obviously I don't know how much location is a factor. Honestly it'll probably end up just being what everyone expected from the beginning - USC. Just like Ewers and Texas. I mean why wouldn't Lincoln take him and let Dart walk? Kind of a no-brainer for him.
  8. Watch y'all get Jaxson Dart if Caleb goes to USC. The musical chairs are still spinning... But honestly fuck Gabriel if I were a UCLA fan. Flipping this late is weak af. Guess they should've pressured him to sign earlier.
  9. Wow that was surprisingly quick. Guess Caleb really is gone for sure
  10. They're probably gonna need to hire an OC first... But hey, he's an East Coast guy, Miami can offer some major NIL, and Cristobal had Justin Herbert, so if they get a good OC it doesn't seem crazy at all
  11. If he's thinking near DC, Clemson and UNC could be options. DJ U hasn't exactly locked down the job there and Howell is gone after becoming a top NFL prospect. I can't see ND being the choice bc of NIL and QB track record. Ole Miss seems to be ponying up for Zach Evans, why not Caleb too.. Miami could also be an interesting sleeper depending on their OC choice.
  12. Yeah it's obvious what they mean, but just vague enough that they can claim otherwise in the off chance someone comes sniffing.
  13. I guess they worded it just vaguely enough that they can claim something like "we just meant we'll help him win a Heisman which would boost his NIL opps" even though that's obviously not what they mean. Still very weird to say it publicly.
  14. Interestingly enough, Vandagriff was originally committed to OU, decommitted, and then OU got Caleb as his replacement. We could have our first ever NCAA trade coming up!
  15. Bizarre on so many levels, especially that they just publicly announced they're going to commit an NCAA violation by helping him get NIL deals..
  16. I mean clearly the odds of us landing him are low, but I wouldn't just assume he's gonna blindly follow wherever Caleb wants to go. He's gonna want his own NIL and play somewhere that uses WRs
  17. Oooweee Sark and Marion better be on the phone asap on this one. He was a 247 True Freshman All-American alongside Worthy. Banks listed as his primary recruiter from Bama btw. We got a pretty nice baseball program to sell too
  18. I would agree LB was the worst performing position but do think has more depth - Dmo, Ford, Gbenda, Richardson, Brock all performed pretty similarly and all got material playing time. And at least there's some hope here that Ford steps up and Dmo/Gbenda finally learn how to use their athleticism. Then some sleepers like Blackwell (who IT thinks starts), Tillman, etc. Edge was my #2 worst group last year and only Ovie and Collins are returning with meaningful playing time. I guess Jett Bush too. Collins probably shouldn't even be an edge though. Good incoming class but that probably won't help much this year. So that depth chart is Ovie, maybe Collins, Bush, Barryn Sorrel, and a bunch of True Freshmen. Safety has Jerrin T, Coffey (who basically hasn't played), and incoming Freshmen. That's really fuckin shallow and our safeties were also bad last year. So I think edge is the biggest need because it has both no strong starter candidates AND very little depth. LB at least has a chance of serviceable starters in Ford, DMo, even Gbenda, with some experienced/athletic bodies behind them who could be good if the light clicks.
  19. So the real question is does Caleb to UGA help us with Arch? Probably not much but can't hurt. At least levels the field with us getting Ewers. Not too relevant for us but also wonder what Brock Vandagriff does at that point. Agree. That room might even have less depth than LB. Edge still the worst though imo.
  20. Interesting. That's a pretty quick offer too, just entered a couple days ago. Have we offered any other safeties? Wonder if the Northwestern guy hasn't gotten an offer (doesn't look like he announces them on Twitter) Have we offered other safeties? Staff may feel like that's a bigger need than Surly does
  21. Frustrating that we seemingly didn't go after that Jennings guy KSU just got. Young guy who was an elite recruit and a midseason Freshman All-American this year before injury.
  22. The real sad part is that Thornton was actually a mainstay of the defense because we had nothing better..yikes If I were the staff I'd be bringing in 2 edge transfers as the #1 top priority (now that Ewers is in)
  23. I don't think we're opposed which is partially why I think if the coaches don't know what they need until after spring ball, it's probably too late to make a big impact through the portal.
