  1. He got injured so sure but he wasn’t as hyped up iirc and is a very different player. Hope he’s fully recovered bc he seems like a good fit. Verified 4.41 40 at 185 lbs as a recruit.
  2. Bottom line is that if Sark wins games and is sober, GP ain’t taking his job. Sark is young and an actual likeable human so he’s not getting usurped if successful. If GP helps win games by fixing the defense and freeing up more of Sark’s time to coach offense, it should be a good development for all. If he comes in with some useless responsibilities to just wait in the wings, that’s no bueno. I find it hard to believe most of the big money sees GP as an ideal HC candidate though. More likely we’d be chasing the newest shiny object.
  3. Ah the old “wants to be close to home” and proceeds to set up visits all over the country
  4. One more small bit of smoke - we just offered Isaiah Neyor, Marion’s most recent twitter follow. So summary of the smoke: Most of his recent follows are Texas staff, WRs, and 9.95ers In addition to X and Shawn Lewis’ RTs, Marion’s most recent tweet has been liked by at least Sark, a couple other UT analysts, and Agbo. X has been liking/RTing multiple things from him lately Helom RT’d a post of his earlier this week Neyor stuff He didn’t get Pitt play calling duties for the bowl game As always, this could all be nothing or just mean that we’re in conversations with him, but that sure seems like a lot.
  5. Leaving after the season to advance your career, which yes he has done frequently, is different from leaving days before a program’s biggest bowl game in recent history when it could easily wait. I’m not saying he has so much blind loyalty that he won’t take another job. I’m just saying he may have enough to not leave the team hanging this week when there’s no real reason to do so. I mean if I were him, I would do exactly that - tell Sark I’m in but that I want to keep it quiet until after the game. And if I were Sark I’d say absolutely no problem.
  6. Idk what a college “GM” role really means. LSU has had one (Austin Thomas) and it’s most definitely not higher than the head coach. My guess is that it’s a heavy focus on managing off-field stuff and consults with Sark on managing on-field staff. Or maybe this is the “football only AD” that people have wanted for a while. My personal view is that taking low-value shit off Sark’s plate is a big win, but obviously don’t want any Game of Thrones crap. GP needs to be clearly subordinate. Ideally GP manages some off field stuff, supervises the defensive side, and that’s it.
  7. Marion seems like a guy who’d have a lot of loyalty to the players and not want to ditch them right before a NY6 game. And there’s no major need for him to get here now instead of a week later. Obviously the smoke may still be wrong, but I don’t think it’s crazy at all for him to wait to announce. What are peoples thoughts on Hankton? Idk much about him but UGAs receivers haven’t ever done shit and any recruiting results are skewed by bags. Not my favorite choice.
  8. Totally think this is a great idea. Let Sark focus more on coaching the offense instead of a bunch of shit that someone else can handle just as well.
  9. To pump the breaks a bit, it is a very likeable tweet. But still this seems like more smoke. And with him not even getting playcalling for their bowl game, I would imagine he isn't getting Pitt's OC job. Seems like we'll get an answer either way soon after their bowl game.
  10. Shawn Lewis (WR Analyst) and X both RT'd a Marion post today (it's a good watch btw)
  11. Doubt this is the plan but Choice was GT’s offensive recruiting coordinator and supposedly a stud so could probably do some mentoring. Obv Glasscock and the other coaches can be teaching him too. Harris’ deleted tweet is actually interesting here - maybe some learning/mentorship plan is what sold him on staying.
  12. Is it confirmed that Harris is staying in the exact same role? IIRC he was DOR but also a QB analyst last year and had explored more coaching-type roles with the Rams etc.
  13. Owens seems to genuinely like Harris from what I’ve read. Think he said Harris felt like a big brother or something. But yeah no way Arch gives a shit. Judging by X’s reactions, some kids clearly like Harris. It sounds like he’s in over his head but maybe some added experience in the role (lots of people suck in their first year of a new job) and support staff around him will help. Not ideal and I’m not saying he’s the right guy, but I’m not ready to panic. Who knows, maybe his role will even be changing a bit (wasn’t he more interested in the coaching side?). As I said before, I’m much more concerned with what happens on defense.
  14. That would be surprising. Maybe moving him to Star or back to Safety? Star could make sense. That would also mean Blackwell jumping Gbenda and Richardson. Idk, seems like Burton is reaching.
  15. Well yeah that’s a given. Although edge is #1 for me by far, we literally have Ovie, Jett and a bunch of guys who’ve never played a snap (Collins shouldn’t be an edge). I think LB mainly just needs to be coached better.
  16. I would really like to add one experienced OL like this so we don’t have to rely on summer enrollee freshmen.
  17. Yeah Choate seems like the biggest fail to me other than maybe PK. I know he’s a likable guy and was PK’s one choice but that unit looked lost all year. In fact I’d say Safety and LB seemed like the biggest coaching deficiencies. Plenty of athleticism to work with at both, just shitty play. CB and DL were ok. Edge was bad but the coaches had nothing to work with there especially once Jones went down.
  18. Marion wouldn’t change the core scheme, nor should he, but he’d likely install a GoGo package of plays that add a nice additional wrinkle for defenses to worry about. As for the hire, I’m getting the feeling it’s Marion but they’re waiting for after the bowl game to announce. Pure speculation of course
  19. Keeping Harris is a surprise but our recruiting will be fine especially now that we’re bringing in baller recruiters at RB and (hopefully) WR coach. The actual bad omen with Sark is IF he doesn’t make any changes on defense. Patterson may be enough but there absolutely has to be some kind of change there.
  20. I mean the arrests are already starting to pile up for their current roster. McKinley Jackson even got a felony charge with video evidence and lab results on the drugs but they’re still playing him.
  21. Pretty sure those were several days ago, I posted something about it at the time
  22. Yikes. Although that's gotta be a case of OSU just not doing their homework. No way they could intentionally ignore that.
