  1. Generally agree but the one major counterpoint is that Jeff Banks was able to get him bought in at Bama and would be coaching him again here. Sometimes there's no rhyme or reason to why one person connects better with another, but it's real.
  2. Idk, to be fair they didn't stop recruiting high school guys like Banks or Brooks after they committed (even if it took some luck to be successful) Also, for the record, this is another Hooks trainee
  3. Unfortunate that Mathis is waiting a semester and taking his time to decide. We really can't afford to blow that one. Still interesting to me that there's been zero insight on Billingsley from any school's 9.95ers
  4. Honestly our WRs were pretty dang good under Meh. Not saying he was good, but imo nowhere near the Coleman/Hand category.
  5. Idk how the numbers look (joke) but hope we look at some of today's new entries - Brini especially but also Lee and Moody.
  6. Damn didn't realize Mathis was a summer enrollee. Wonder why he doesn't just non-grad transfer and finish his last semester at Texas. Also if this is true, great call by FCB saying he'd be a horn this week.
  7. I meant that I was throwing out hypothetical numbers to illustrate how it works, but ok cool post you big badass
  8. Idk if that would be good or bad. I'd almost rather have him stay with the knowledge that he'll be gone soon and the replacement is a total unknown.
  9. Marion posted showing a slide with some players' rough NIL earnings "before Clark Field" https://instagram.com/stories/brennan_coach/2750436197385139762?utm_source=ig_story_item_share&utm_medium=copy_link
  10. That makes sense, thanks. So right now we have 27 HS commits, plus hopefully D Campbell and maybe Champ Lewis still comes. Let's say 28. Making up numbers let's say we count 5 of those guys towards last year's class. That means for 2022 we'd have 23 HS counters and room for 9 transfers?
  11. The numbers thing is confusing to me. I've read 7 and IT said that on their recent video, but I've also seen that it's different for this year bc of covid. Idk what's true. And then of course there's always some massaging that can happen. Florida State currently has 9 transfers committed in this class though, so that seems like good evidence that 7 is wrong.
  12. Man I didn't realize Mathis would get such big-time offers. We better close that one out.
  13. That Johntay Cook note sucks. I'm becoming more and more convinced about Margin Hooks' impact on his pupils' recruitments. Every single one this cycle has been topsy-turvy
  14. Dart and Trigg supposed to visit Ole Miss after OU now. Btw if we don't have Billingsley locked up we should be all over Trigg (Todd Orlando tackling warning)...
  15. Fair. I just think Edge is the biggest position of need on the whole team and there aren't many options available. I wouldn't word it like you did but yeah we've got a lot of young talent at TE. Sanders has the size to be a plus blocker, he just needs to learn. He's never played TE before. JB would still be an awesome rental while the youngsters continue to develop and start getting more playing time. edit: misread and thought you said you'd put Mario #1. Definitely fair to put Mathis ahead of him, I just like that Mario would be here at least 2 more years while Mathis is at most 1 (I think). Sanders likely 2 although could leave after 1.
  16. My ranking would probably be: 1. Drew Sanders 2. Mario Williams (long shot) 3. Mathis (lower bc only one year of eligibility left) 4. Billingsley 5. Trigg Which is crazy because Billingsley and Trigg would both be awesome gets. Portal be hoppin. Burton from UGA would immediately crack that list too if he enters. I suspect we end up with Mathis and JB. Sanders to OU, Mario to USC.
  17. He also started the season down the depth chart and worked his way up so likely didn't get as many snaps per game (speculating though).
  18. No like I said, we make a ton of sense. I get that. I'm just wondering if there have been reports on what Billingsley himself is actually thinking/planning.
