  1. Meh not sure I agree. I mean, Sark obviously may not have what it takes either way and it'd look bad, but there will be other good QB options available. Check out the QB rooms at USC, UGA, and even Miami. Some of those highly touted guys are going to shake loose. Heck, Jaxson Dart may be available within the month if Caleb Williams transfers and Dart could be the best of the bunch. They also have Slovis and Miller Moss. At UGA you have Stetson returning plus JT Daniels, Carson Beck and 4th string Brock Vandagriff (a top 20 ranked true freshman), with another top 50 guy incoming.
  2. The Worthy transfer stuff was not what I was implying at all lol. If you want to try to interpret that follow as anything meaningful (which I wouldn't), it'd be a positive to me. But no - pretty sure Michigan let him out of his letter so that wasn't a transfer.
  3. Fwiw (which is nothing), Zach Kittley's most recent Twitter follow is...Quinn Ewers. Quinn Ewers most recent Twitter follow is...Xavier Worthy (nothing else Tech or UT).
  4. Venables leaving. He's an Austin guy who we were in contention for. Would be a great get (started for them as a Tr FR) but I'm guessing pure wishful thinking at this point edit: ACC defensive rookie of the year too
  5. SIAP but good news Conner Robertson played yesterday for Westlake so I guess that injury a few weeks ago wasn't too severe after all
  6. I mean to be fair, he did say "I put words up on the site" Pretty accurate description haha
  7. Love to see it. Good for him and it sounds like he's really turned it on late in the season. Plus clearly a winner. Maybe we're getting the guy we originally thought he was after all
  8. All expenses paid red carpet trip to LA? Hm I thought he was reported to be going but his twitter profile/activity is still OU. So idk. That would help a ton if he stayed. But I'd still be surprised. Probably a Roy Manning situation.
  9. Furk. Not surprising though. Hopefully the slimey Riley move is in his mind.
  10. Here's a thought. If we end up getting GP on board to be some kind of defensive advisor, why not bring in Donte Williams as the official CB coach to be an ace recruiter? I think the issue with Donte is that we need a coach more than a recruiter, but if GP can cover the coaching part, bring on Donte.
  11. Someone would probably give him ridiculous money as OC but agree that otherwise it seems like NFL position coach is most likely.
  12. Lol if yall think Brady is gonna take an analyst job. He'll be an OC in college next year or position coach at worst. Or NFL position coach. LSU has an opening..
  13. Wasn't there some buzz that we were talking to TJ Dudley too (Oregon LB commit from AL)? Took an OV here according to 247.
  14. Wow Joe Brady just got canned. Bet he gets a college OC job but I'd be cool with him as PGC / WR coach
  15. Cristobal's OL coach Mirabal went to high school with him which means he's also a Florida guy. Gotta be a 99% chance he follows. With that happening, you have to think Banks stays in state. Love seeing Perroni say we're in better position but with A&M's bags it's hard to have confidence. Idk how tied Cam Williams was to the coaches but he did also take an OV to Miami so you never know.
  16. If he picks Tech, I've decided I'm just going to believe that Arch committed and Sark doesn't want to run him off. Please don't introduce any logic to convince me otherwise. Thanks.
  17. Wonder why OU waited until now to finalize this if it's Venables. Maybe they were hoping for Fickell but the playoff bid killed it. Doesn't matter but interesting. Sounds like Cristobal isn't 100% official but that Oregon opening is an interesting one for sure. With all these exploding coaching salaries, it'll be very interesting to see who Phil Knight moneywhips as a replacement. Funny side note - Knight would be losing Cristobal to one of the few big Adidas schools out there lol
  18. Yeah something tells me Aggy will step up the bag. Hopefully our new NIL stuff helps.
  19. Even if I don't agree, I can almost always see some reasons why a kid would pick another school over Texas. If he picks Tech, I really can't. Like I could understand reasons why Ewers would pick TCU (Dykes offense, cool town, closer to home), SMU, A&M, even Baylor. But Tech? I can't think of one legitimate reason unless their boosters are just offering him an insane multi-million dollar NIL deal (which IT seems to be hinting at). What we've heard is that he supposedly likes Kittley and that Dodge might get hired there. But he's likely never even met Kittley and the guy has 3 years of total coaching experience (2 in FCS, 1 at WKU). Ewers didn't consider an air raid offense out of HS either. Meanwhile the Dodge rumors seem to be getting shut down. So why the fuck would he actually pick Tech? They lose on literally all the criteria - QB coach track record, chances of winning, surrounding talent, childhood fandom, Austin vs. Lubbock, academics, and NIL exposure. The only explanation I can come up with is as combination of: 1. Tech dropped a huge NIL deal (this is possible), 2. Mahomes really did dupe him into loving this Kittley guy, 3. He doesn't want the pressure cooker of being QB at UT, 4. Our season killed all confidence in Sark. Bizarre if it happens.
  20. It'd be great for building some hype but tbh at this point idk how many recruits it would really pull in. Sure, maybe we would still end up with a good QB like Dart but this would be a giant embarssing kick to the nads
  21. Sark is not "likely fired after next season" whether you want that or not. Especially if he gets a good qb like Quinn.
