  1. Is it confirmed that Harris is staying in the exact same role? IIRC he was DOR but also a QB analyst last year and had explored more coaching-type roles with the Rams etc.
  2. Owens seems to genuinely like Harris from what I’ve read. Think he said Harris felt like a big brother or something. But yeah no way Arch gives a shit. Judging by X’s reactions, some kids clearly like Harris. It sounds like he’s in over his head but maybe some added experience in the role (lots of people suck in their first year of a new job) and support staff around him will help. Not ideal and I’m not saying he’s the right guy, but I’m not ready to panic. Who knows, maybe his role will even be changing a bit (wasn’t he more interested in the coaching side?). As I said before, I’m much more concerned with what happens on defense.
  3. That would be surprising. Maybe moving him to Star or back to Safety? Star could make sense. That would also mean Blackwell jumping Gbenda and Richardson. Idk, seems like Burton is reaching.
  4. Well yeah that’s a given. Although edge is #1 for me by far, we literally have Ovie, Jett and a bunch of guys who’ve never played a snap (Collins shouldn’t be an edge). I think LB mainly just needs to be coached better.
  5. I would really like to add one experienced OL like this so we don’t have to rely on summer enrollee freshmen.
  6. Yeah Choate seems like the biggest fail to me other than maybe PK. I know he’s a likable guy and was PK’s one choice but that unit looked lost all year. In fact I’d say Safety and LB seemed like the biggest coaching deficiencies. Plenty of athleticism to work with at both, just shitty play. CB and DL were ok. Edge was bad but the coaches had nothing to work with there especially once Jones went down.
  7. Marion wouldn’t change the core scheme, nor should he, but he’d likely install a GoGo package of plays that add a nice additional wrinkle for defenses to worry about. As for the hire, I’m getting the feeling it’s Marion but they’re waiting for after the bowl game to announce. Pure speculation of course
  8. Keeping Harris is a surprise but our recruiting will be fine especially now that we’re bringing in baller recruiters at RB and (hopefully) WR coach. The actual bad omen with Sark is IF he doesn’t make any changes on defense. Patterson may be enough but there absolutely has to be some kind of change there.
  9. I mean the arrests are already starting to pile up for their current roster. McKinley Jackson even got a felony charge with video evidence and lab results on the drugs but they’re still playing him.
  10. Pretty sure those were several days ago, I posted something about it at the time
  11. Yikes. Although that's gotta be a case of OSU just not doing their homework. No way they could intentionally ignore that.
  12. Fair point, if he's leaving Pitt he might want to keep it quiet until after that bowl game. And no real reason for Sark/Drayton or anyone else to push him on that. If they were promoting him to OC, I feel like they'd go ahead and announce it though to get their guys excited and end any speculation.
  13. Anyone else surprised nothing on Marion has been leaked/announced yet? Seems like by now he would know what he's doing bc Pitt OC has been open 2 weeks, we've likely been in contact for a while, and Drayton has had a week at Temple (that one may take longer given all on his Stan's plate).
  14. Since we're playing this game... Marion's 7 most recent follows are now Trevell Johnson, some rando, JWhitt, Westcott Eberts, Suchomel, Taylor Estes, and Rod Babers Obviously he'd already be following anyone from Pitt, but sure seems like there's still smoke. Wonder if Pitt chose an OC already (hard to imagine Slovis committing otherwise).
  15. I would consider Ole Miss and Tennessee as busted but yeah not meaning death penalty
  16. Mannings have to LOVE the OL recruiting. Would have to imagine it's the top OL class in '22 which is extremely relevant for Arch. Adding Campbell would be big too. Not sure how much portal WRs really help with Arch considering most will be gone by then. Coleman really f'd us on that front.
  17. I've been wondering about this too. Sure, all schools cheat and they wouldn't get busted if they stayed in bounds, but they're breaking all the unwritten rules, and even worse it's working for them. Not only are they blowing normal amounts out of the water, they're invading other SEC states to do it (GA, LA, TN). So double foul. Going full conspiracy - another potential factor is that A&M is no longer as economically important to the SEC once UT/OU join. Up until now, a strong A&M meant more Texas market eyeballs on the SEC. With UT/OU in the conference, the state will be locked in regardless. So unlike before, A&M getting busted would have very little financial impact on the rest of the conference.
  18. Idk which of their seniors could technically return with the covid year. I know Peevy and SloNeal declared, not sure about Clemons or others
  19. We can top that but Pitt OC is likely a quicker path to big-time OC or HC than being a WR coach anywhere (assuming he does well of course). He clearly has his eyes set on bigger things so he's likely thinking about what sets him up for the next steps. Side note on that point - it feels like Marion would be a 1-2 year rental most likely until he gets an OC job. Maybe the one negative with him. Edit: My personal guess is that he'd take Pitt OC if the offer is real but would pick us over Temple. Obviously pure speculation though so who knows.
  20. Now I'm extremely curious who this mystery booster is. Gotta be Rick Perry or Robert Earl Keen..
