  1. So would you rather have Gilbert be on-field and find a new HS relations guy, or keep Gilbert recruiting as HS Relations off-field but hire a baller RB coach?
  2. I don't expect him to ever transfer here but what a dumb decision (and he's probably the only Aggy commit I'd truly say that about). Taking hundreds of thousands of dollars while likely costing himself millions in rookie contract value alone.
  3. Every time I see a good WR coach getting a new job (Colbert, Emmett Jones, etc.) I get pissed off. Why is Coleman still here????
  4. Side note but last year Sark hired the son-in-law of the Katy head coach as an analyst. The guy later got an on-field at a small school and left though. Wonder if he tried to bring in another Houston-area connection like that.
  5. I would think Gilbert left Lancaster wanting a less involved, off-field role. Also has he ever coached RBs / can he add value on-field? It's not all about recruiting. I'm actually not opposed to the Harris promotion if he can actually coach, which I have no clue on. He may not be a plus Director of Recruiting, but he'd likely be a good recruiter relative to other position coaches (like Drayton). I'm liking this Pitt name although he seems like a better WR coach candidate tbh.
  6. Right but why else would it occur post-playoffs. No reason for other teams to wait.
  7. *If true. And actually it's probably fucking UGA. Lanning may take theirs to Oregon and Muschamp knows Bo
  8. That is an unpleasant update. Anyone but Bo! I guess the bigger offer would have to be Bama?
  9. Serious question - how does A&M keep their purchased players from portaling? Even underperformers like Demas and Brian Williams have stuck around. If all they were getting was an upfront bag, wouldn't they just peace out after a year or two?
  10. NSD1 isn't over yet. Also, for optics sake they'd probably wait a few days anyway so it's less obvious..
  11. Seems like they intentionally waited until NSD to move this forward. Idk if that's bc our staff wanted to focus on recruiting, Gary didn't want to mess with TCU's recruiting or what. Guessing we'll find out if it's happening or not fairly soon.
  12. Drayton is his 5th most recent follow (ie person Marion has followed). Would be a logical OC choice at Temple.. JM Jones and Jeff Banks are semi-recent follow, can't tell how recent. I like this guy a lot as a WR coach. Idk about RBs just bc he doesn't really have experience there.
  13. Maybe but I'd still take an experienced transfer rental to bridge the gap until the 22s are ready.
  14. I'm glad he's stepping into a RB room with excellent leadership in Bijan and Rojo. Drayton would've been a good influence so that may hurt. But yeah seems like his rating drop was all off-field issues. He was the #1 ranked RB beforehand.
  15. So with the 22 class basically signed, what are the big needs in the portal? Idk how many spots we really have but I'll say: 1 instant contributor OL (hard to rely on regular enrolee true freshmen) 2 WRs 2 instant impact Edges (again, don't want to totally rely on True Fr and our depth chart is empty) 1 LB (I'm hopeful Dmo, Ford, Gbenda, Richardson, Blackwell can take a step forward for now, but we need more young guys bc of only one in this 22 class) 1 Safety (sounds like Watts at either CB or S)
  16. Especially when you consider our 5-7 record, this is a heck of a class. Definitely need some portal WR and LB but otherwise excellent class. People just whining because Aggy bagged a historic class despite their own disappointing season. Which is understandably annoying.
  17. Brennen Marion has 1 year of RB coaching experience, in 2016 at Oklahoma Baptist. Am I missing something there? He also just coached the Biletnikoff winner at Pitt, so maybe (definitely) he should just replace Coleman as WR coach...
  18. Sure but Drayton was one guy who we knew had his position locked down both in coaching and recruiting. Best position group on our team by far right now.
  19. Good for him but damn, one of the assistants I didn’t want to lose. This will hurt with a Rueben Owens
  20. Man for all we know Stewart could've straight up told UT he's in just to drum up suspense and still sign with Aggy. Or maybe it's real. Who the fuck knows with him.
  21. So 6 more but then presumably add Agbo and Winfield. So 4 truly open spots. 1 saved for Campbell, 3 up for grabs.
  22. So we have 26 commits/signees right now, but Lewis and Jones may be out and Stone and the LS may be non-scholly? So 22 minimum. Which means at best we have 3 spots left, is that right? Have to then assume one of those is reserved for Campbell. Sounds like Winfield and Agbo are another two. So wtf is happening after that?
