  1. Exactly how I feel. Very perplexing. The run game has been really good the last couple years, so I'll give the benefit of the doubt that this year is an aberration, but we haven't had an elite passing attack any year under Sark which is shocking.
  2. QE is pretty low down the list to blame for this loss imo. Was he perfect? No. But he didn't get help from anyone. Multiple drops that would have been first downs (one popping up for an INT). No run game. Penalties everywhere killing drives. Missed FGs. None of that is on him. His biggest issue yesterday, and idk how much of this is on playcalling, was the disappearing act every time we got in/near the red zone. I mean, how many times did we get to their 30? Like 6 or 7? And turned those into 12 total points including OT. The most painful being 1st down from the 14 at the end of regulation with plenty of time and a TD winning the game.
  3. I'm guessing they'll get John Mateer at QB since they just got his OC. Little Elm kid. Haven't watched him but with good numbers so unfortunately seems like a good get
  4. This. The fake punt allowed was particularly bad. We had two guys blocking the gunner on that side and neither even turned around to consider a fake. Would have easily been in position if they had. Also don't forget the blocked punt vs ATM. That's a coaching thing. Kern will get better/stronger with a full offseason but we shouldn't have gone into this season relying on a summer-enrollee true freshman. With that said, I can't blame the staff for thinking we were set at kicker this year considering how well Bert did last year. Kick and punt coverage are also strong as usual.
  5. Interesting that they have Texas and PSU staying ahead of ND with a loss, UGA ahead of tOSU, and SMU ahead of Bama. They're basically taking the approach that CCG losses won't be penalized. I'm not so sure that'll be the case even though it should.
  6. I fully support the idea of guaranteeing at least one team from multiple conferences, although Big 12 is lucky to be an auto-bid conference nowadays. The variety is good for the sport and teams barely play out of conference so comparing across conferences is a very rough science. What's dumb is the reranking after CCGs where someone like Texas or PSU can drop below ND, or SMU drops below Indiana. I mean, imagine making Indiana play tOSU again this weekend and factoring that L in the rankings.
  7. I'm guessing the "Juniors" who walked were all redshirt juniors, so seniors in the academic sense, but I haven't looked at the list so that could be wrong. I don't think Kelvin or Cam walked though either and safe to say they're gone. Regardless, definitely hope Golden comes back and it wouldn't be too shocking if he did
  8. Where do they have Golden? Mock Draft Database has him 6th round but I don't think it's reliable once you get past the 1st/2nd rounders
  9. Also, "I was waiting on a call with some determining factors" on signing day lol. Wonder what the determining factor$ were
  10. I can't see Blue getting drafted. Gibson just got a deal with Maserati Austin so I assume he's not portaling? RB room is pretty crowded, I could see Blue in the portal although Baxter's health is a wild card Golden and Taafe returning would be huge. I'm guessing both are mid to late rounders so could go either way but no real clue. What's the NFL projection on Trey Moore? Does he return or go pro?
  11. Interesting. Wonder if that includes suites/club as well
  12. Random question: do the home schools keep all the revenue from the 1st round playoff games? If so, that's potentially major cash source for programs especially with revenue sharing coming soon. Think about it: 100,000 tickets at an average of $250 would be $25 million in revenue. Obviously there is a large cost to hosting the event but then you also add in concessions, ads, etc. Idk what that all nets to but it has to be well into the millions.
  13. I was wondering about this too. Lots of Denton Ryan has come to Austin so seems strange to have no connection to a 5 star there
  14. So I assume OU is getting Mateer along with the new OC? Sounds like a pretty good get for them
  15. Not sure he fits the Sark speedster profile but in his 3 years at UK, Key has 500, 600, and 700+ yards. Pretty dang good in that offense
  16. Agree with this, but also why not go get a decent punter from a small school in the portal who just wants a UT degree. Roster and scholly limits are gone and backups sometimes have to play
  17. Lane was right about CCGs. He is not right about Ole Miss deserving to get in with 3 losses.
  18. Conference championship games are so dumb in this setup. 1-loss teams with similarly weak schedules like Indiana and ND are locked in but SMU is at risk because they made their CCG? And I presume Texas could drop below ND with a CCG loss? It makes no sense. If you think Bama is better than SMU, put them there now but don't punish teams for having an extra game.
  19. LSU is actually getting picks to land a 5-star flip OL from FSU
  20. A few takeaways from this: If SMU beats Clemson, Bama is almost definitely the 11 seed. Not a fun matchup for the 6 seed. If Clemson wins, it's SMU vs Bama for that final spot. tOSU isn't getting the 5 seed. If Texas loses and Oregon wins, it'll be between us and ND. No idea what the committee would do there. If they pick ND, then there's still a chance tOSU gets the 6 and UT 7, although I think that would be unlikely. Interestingly, 7 seed vs Indiana would be easier than 6 vs Bama although 2nd round tougher at 7 seed. Of course, it is HIGHLY likely that there will be upsets this weekend which shakes up all these assumptions. Almost every CCG is a near pick em.
  21. Agree with all that. I am curious in general how much schools actively try to fuck with rivals. If nothing else, just by driving up prices. If I were Jolin, I would definitely lob offers at every decent player on tOSUs roster even if I have no intention of pursuing heavily. Mizzou might want to do that with ATM too as revenge for the double flip.
  22. Steering this somewhat back on track, I will say this: I'm glad it is Michigan getting the Ellison wave and not someone that is more directly competitive with Texas. Can't say I give a shit about Michigan either way and all that talent has to go somewhere, rather it be them than a conference opponent or in-state school. Also it's fun to see them abuse tOSU lol
  23. I mean there is one pretty big difference...you actually OWN an NFL team and the heavy profits and value appreciation that come with it. It's a legit financial investment on top of the perks. In CFB you get what...access and the chance to cheer along like any Joe Schmo? You aren't recovering a dime of what you spend. So I'd actually disagree. If I were a hundred-billionaire I'd have much more interest in an NFL team
