Not sure what to make of Wendy living in a van at Cracker Barrel. Sad deal.
A few weeks ago, went out to West Palm Beach to visit some friends. They live one block from the Howard Stern compound and have seen Beth out exercising but no Howard. I had no idea he lived out there. His place is a super compound. Nothing but massive trees. Kind of weird knowing Howard was just a block away in his basement pleasuring himself to babysitter porn.
Vegas/Colorado should wipe the floor with the Habs. Christ, that series looked like slow-motion compared to the Vegas games.
Would love to see Montreal knock out Vegas. Man, I hate the fuggin Knights and their silly white mitts.
Love him or hate him, you gotta give Don Cherry some credit on this one.
He said two weeks ago on his podcast the Leafs wouldn't get past Price. Good call.
Anybody follow Stars prospects?
Went to my first Texas Stars game tonight being in Austin. Texas scored with 1.4 left in the game against Iowa and then scored on a breakaway in OT. Crazy finish. Impressive game day experience from the organization.
Impressed with Riley Tufte. 6’6 winger with great hands. Interesting project for Dallas. Too bad he can’t find more of the back of the net.
Nomadland - loved it and think it's the best I've seen this year. Maybe a toss up with Minari.
Have heard lots of people complain about the slow pace of the film but I think that captures the monotony of life on the road. Lots of boredom and loneliness. Really well made
Love Mr. Baseball, an often forgotten baseball film. Excellent job of capturing Japanese baseball (shot in Nagoya at the home of the Chunichi Dragons). Nippon games are lots of fun if you ever find yourself over there.
Watched 'Minari'. Good work. Does a great job portraying the immigrant experience....although the local Americans were a little over the top.....but turn about is fair play, I suppose, with stereotypes. Appreciate how it showed the crap work immigrants have to do. Like someone told me a long time ago.....'It doesn't matter what you did before you came here. When you come to America, you go to the back of the line and start all over'.
The trailer to Nomadland looks fantastic. Hitting it next.
Agreed. The 'flashlight' line was solid. The only other time I actually laughed was the James Earl Jones line 'THIS....is ZNN'. I don't know why....but that garnered a chuckle.
Thanks for posting. Good stuff.
I keep in touch with several guys that played for the Dallas Black Hawks at the ol Fair Park. Gonna share this one. I miss old time hockey.
Oddly enough, those uniforms didn't look bad in person (from a distance) but looked horrendous on the fans wearing them.
I'm old school. Have a home sweater and an away sweater......get back to normal numbers (2-7 on defenseman, 8-19 on forwards, 1 and 30 on keepers) and play the damned game. (I know, so many retired numbers.......but how many 57's and 82's and 49's does Detroit need? Are you playing right wing or right tackle?)
Surprised there wasn't more of a response on this.
Saw it last night. Bad. Too slow. Dragged.
Love Bill Murray but this was another one of his Jarmusch collaborations where he 'slept walked' through the picture. Unfortunately, he wasn't playing a zombie.
I'm with you, AM. I've been keeping an eye on the ticket market and nothing. Really curious what's going to happen with the single-game sales. If you find some info, please share.
Looks like next season could feature an all Canadian Division in the NHL. Would solve the issue of American teams not going into Canada.
The Canucks are not messing around with this virus.....while the Americans....well.
I know what you're saying and it looks 'miserable' on the outside.....but when you're on a hockey team with great chemistry and making a run at the Cup, your teammates are your friends and family. These guys are going to look back at this years from now and remember it as one of the highlights (and lowlights) of their life.
When you're on a hockey team with a great group of guys, you carry that the rest of your life.
As Fred Shero once said 'Win today, we walk together forever.' Even with a loss, these Dallas players will have a bond from here on out.
This was a great run.
