  1. UH actually does pretty well in Houston. Its beyond Houston they don't do especially well. Back around 2005-2009 the Chronicle would list local TV ratings. Even being in CUSA, UH usually was ahead of aggy. Texas, of course, was off the chart.

  3. Weird to hear all the handwringing over the collapse of the Pac. They even interviewed Missouri's football coach. Missouri!!!!! The one school the Big 12 would never take back. One article even downplayed the stripping of the Big East and Big 12. I never heard these complaints with the demise of the SWC or the 4 defections from the Big 12 in 2010-11 and the dribble from the Big East. The Pac even split up on its own once. In 1959 UW and the 4 California schools left WSU and the Oregon schools behind (although they later took them back) and also dumped Idaho. Colorado and Utah have hardly been there. And Arizona and ASU spent more time in the Border and WAC than Pac. I feel bad for Oregon St. and Washington St. fans, not that there are many of them. There is no 2022 P5 public school with worse attendance than those two. And both are decent size schools. They really are AAC/MWC type schools. Their budgets are near the bottom of the P5. And WSU has about a $15 million subsidy to maintain that. Stanford made their own bed with their arrogance. Cal just doesn't seem to care much. Don't feel sorry for those two at all if they end up in purgatory.
  4. That's a quote from the ASU AD who probably hasn't even talked to any Big 12 people. The Big 12 isn't doing divisions to keep the least enthused member happy. There WILL be regional scheduling, however.
  5. Not UNC. They didn't even require their players to go to class. Just sign up and collect their A's.
  6. Apparently Arizona had to drag them out of the WAC in the first place in 1978.
  7. You could land in downtown Pasadena and take an hour to get to the Rose Bowl!
  8. Media overlords?! Man is he easy to sell. 23rd century Apple deal!
  9. The Big 10 ADs were furious when they found out Penn St. had been added. They were not consulted. "Do you know how hard it is to get to State College?"
  10. Mandel has been almost as bad as Canzano spreading Kliavcoff's bs propaganda the last few months. He's mad because he's been proven an idiot. He also brought Auerbach along with him yesterday and made the Athletic look bad.
  11. Maybe they are a little on the spectrum.
  12. Don't speak for UT.
  13. Utah is less excited. I would say ASU is all on the idiot Crow who propped up Larry Scott for the last decade.
  14. Skimming through the Boneyard today. Not sure the UConn fan base isn't as delusional as the Utah and aggy fan bases. They know they are so much better academically than the C4 and a much better program than Utah,....
  15. Lead by Commander Brett Y. Adama escaping the P2 fleet.
  16. It would have been at Austin, but we honored our word. They were afraid we would lose to Oregon who barely lost to Oregon St., the Pac champ. But we wouldn't cancel the game. We won 71-7.
  17. Georgia has really improved, but they are not at that level. Maybe as good or better than Iowa and Nebraska.
  18. Yeah. Denial. Anti-trust??? And believing that Arizona wasn't gone. Unless the board stopped them, Arizona was not staying.
  19. Big 10 sure didn't fool around once they decided to go. 1 day. They beat Arizona to the announcement.
  20. He did tell some of the truth after his initial run of Pac Kool-Aid. He said the Pac would blow up after this contract around 2030 and the Washington, Oregon and maybe Cal and Stanford would go to the Big 10. He viewed it as inevitable. He just said it wouldn't happen this year and that Oregon and Washington would not get into the Big 10 now.
  21. I was surprised that Iowa St. was tops in the new Big 12.
  22. Well Penn is private so I wasn't counting them.
  23. Basically, they got the Rutgers deal, except Big 10 makes a lot more than when they signed up Rutgers. Rutgers had a $205 million buy-in. Rutgers also had nowhere else to go.
  24. Stanford, probably because of academic standards, is always up and down. Records: 1990s 60-54-2 2000s 47-69 2010s 98-35
  25. Well if you are going into existing schools, I might rate TCU above ASU. Certainly on a per capita basis.
