  1. Yes. There were also tweets that it was unlimited P5s. There's no reliable info on that. What is certain is that Fox and ESPN ARE good with two P5s. They will at least listen attentively beyond that.
  2. I think the Big 12 is better off without the west coast and sticking to the MTZ.
  3. Big 10 matches Stanford for arrogance. They talk about their equal revenue sharing while stripping the best from other conferences and raping their new members (NU, MD, RU). Nebraska is probably just now catching up with Iowa St. since they left the Big 12. Rutgers had over a $200 million buy-in.
  4. https://247sports.com/college/arizona/article/george-klaivkoff-presents-pac-12-heavy-streaming-deal--213524809/ "The Pac-12 held a meeting on Tuesday morning in which George Kliavkoff was able to finally present numbers. There were three different deals presented, but the one that Kliavkoff felt the strongest about was led by Apple with a base in the low $20 million range. As we previously reported, the deal includes heavy incentives that are based on subscriptions directly related to the Pac-12. The base number of the deal is considerably low compared to other Power 5 conferences, but the selling point would be that if the Pac-12 hits certain subscription number, it could possibly surpass the Big 12 base. Sources indicate that those subscription numbers would have to be substantial in order to get to that level...."

  6. https://9to5mac.com/2023/08/01/apple-tv-pac12-streaming/?extended-comments=1 Saw this posted on another site from a non-sports source: "Although a deal is not yet approved, Apple looks set to land the streaming rights for the Pac-12 sports conference. As reported by ESPN’s Pet Thamel, the Pac-12 hosted a meeting today with its conference schools, proposing Apple as their new TV rights partner. The arrangement would materialize in a similar vein to MLS Season Pass, which sees all MLS games exclusively stream through the Apple TV app. Like MLS Season Pass, access to the Pac-12 channel would likely be a standalone subscription (separate to Apple TV+). While nothing has yet been agreed, there are reportedly no alternatives to the Apple deal on the table. Some Pac-12 schools are hesitant to go forward with a streaming TV future, worried that their viewership and exposure would drop significantly compared to the traditional TV and cable broadcast model. Reportedly, only Apple would offer financial terms at levels the conference would deem acceptable. Terms of the arrangement remain under lock and key, but are rumored to be in the region of $20-25 million per school, with bonus incentives if certain subscription levels were hit. This is slightly lower than what schools in the Big 12 conference attained through their most recent media rights deal, which landed at around $31 million per school. (Behind the scenes, some Pac-12 members have threatened to leave and join the Big 12, if the conference could not secure a similar deal.)..."
  7. As I recall Dellenger seems to be another who is sourced by Washington St. and Oregon St. ADs.
  8. Go GK is next going to set up a GoFundMe account for the Pac?
  9. Wilner expects it, just not until 2031. McMurphy says it might be soon, more likely a couple of years, but possibly not until 2031.
  10. Is that you Canzano? The last 1/3 is the least valuable.
  11. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/big-12-big-ten-expansions-threaten-pac-12-conference-survival/ar-AA1eBy9z Links to a host of articles speculating on the Pac's survival.
  12. Sounds like the is the Highlander, Christopher Lambert, aka, the Dude of West Virginia.
  13. Same thing in 2006 when the Big 10 was arguing for an Ohio St.-Michigan rematch.
  14. And deservedly so, the made for TV product had one of the worst BCS title game viewerships ever.
  15. I didn't watch the rematch. The first game was boring as hell and I didn't like Okie St. and LSU getting screwed. The Big shootout was the game of a century. NU-OU 71 was a game of the century. Vince & Co. vs. ESPN and Hollywood in the Rose was a game of the century. LSU-Bama was pretty lame.
  16. Yeah. They've been really unprofessional in insulting him all these months and they really look like clowns. Funny how so many people can't get past their east coast or west coast bias or are stuck in the 80s when KSU, ISU, TCU, etc. were doormats.
  17. Well this blog claims to know FSU's strategy-blame it on fraud. https://www.big12insider.com/articles/acc_fraud.html "...I have a well-placed source in the sports media rights industry who believes Florida State was defrauded by the ACC. Usually, I automatically judge any claim detailing an easy way out of a GoR as meritless. I am not an attorney, but I have researched the infallibility of the Big 12's grant of rights since 2012. I've spoken with over a dozen legal experts on media rights. They were unanimous in their opinion - an assignment of rights is only circumventable by breach of contract or fraud. Swofford Mislead Florida State's Board of Trustees My contact alleges the revenue projections presented to Florida State's Board of Trustees on March 7, 2013, by ACC Commissioner John Swofford and TV consultant Dean Jordan, were grossly inaccurate and misleading. FSU's Board acted on the bad-faith representations of the ACC. Swofford and Jordan knew the revenue projections were unrealistic yet assured the Board profits from a conference network would put the Seminoles on par with their SEC peers. That's what lawyers call "intentional fraud." Swofford, in his capacity as the commissioner of the ACC, intentionally misrepresented revenue projections with the intent to deceive the Board of Trustees into signing the grant of rights. My contact claims Swofford and Jordan also committed "constructive fraud" during their presentation to the Board...."
  18. Nobody but the SEC and Notre Dame want a smoke filled room to decide all 12 slots. Ain't going to happen. No how. No way.
  19. I don't understand why this board likes the Pirate so much when he screwed us in the polls in 2008 after giving up vs. OU, giving OU a rout. LSU got screwed as bad as Okie St. They had to beat a good team they had already beaten on the road in the game of the year.
  20. There were SO many ifs. What if MU beats OU in the ccg in 2007 instead of LSU getting a mulligan with 2 losses (or WVU beating Pitt)? CCG is Missouri vs. Ohio St. What if common sense applied and UT went to the ccg and title game instead of OU in 2008 and beat Florida? What is Colt didn't get hit on the shoulder as a freshman vs. KSU in 2006? The Bama player hit him on the same play in the same spot in 2009. What if Bama's player doesn't get sloppy when running back a turnover, allowing the Auburn player to strip him just before the goal line in 2010? That would have made the game 31-0 that Bama eventually lost 28-27. So TCU would have played Oregon for the title. What if common sense applied and Okie St. played LSU in 2011 instead of giving Bama a mulligan (or maybe that plane crash didn't happen the night before Okie St.'s lone loss vs. ISU)? You could have had 5 straight Big 12 or future Big 12 champs instead of 5 straight SEC champs.
  21. ESPN did their part. In 2011 they ignored Oklahoma St. and tried to argue that Alabama should get in ahead of 2 loss champ Stanford and 1 loss non-champ Oregon. Same thing a few years later when Baylor was good, before they lost late in the season. They were arguing that a 1 loss Ohio St. should move ahead of one of the top 4 and completely ignored unbeaten Baylor. As for recruiting, it was about the CFP. aggy was doing good, but what was hurting us was losing so many of the very top players to the regular CFP participants-Alabama, Georgia, Clemson and Ohio St. The year we announced for the SEC and the CFP was going to be expanded, UT, A&M and OU dominated Texas recruiting in a way I don't ever remember seeing.
  22. I agree its most likely the Big 10 waits 5-6 years to expand. They have publicly said things similar to #1. But situations change. Even Wilner thinks UW and Oregon end up in the Big 10 in 2031.
  23. I live in Atlanta now, so I don't get to too many games in Austin. McMurphy and at least one other have said they aren't dilutive. McMurphy still believes UW and Oregon are inevitable in the Big 10 with the only issue being when. There are 6 at large spots. The Big 10 and SEC would love to have all the schools who were regular contenders. In the BCS/playoff era, the SEC would have had 75 slots in the 24 years even without UT and OU, so that is slightly more than 3 per year. The Big 10 and SEC would love to suck up all 6 of those wildcard slots in addition to their champ being in. Given how much the media market is changing, 2036 is an eternity. And I don't think the Big 10 is especially interested in Clemson, knows FSU would prefer the SEC and knows UNC and UVA, as well as Cal and Stanford, ARE dilutive. If they go to 18, they still have room for the Catholics and Convicts. Unless ESPN makes a bunch more net in advertising with FSU in the SEC, I don't see anyone getting out of the GOR in the next 10 years.
  24. They had a whole presentation on the possibility of leaving for the Big 12 covered on the Shaggy board. Their president Barron, formerly a UT prof, had no interest and proceeded to lock them in for 20 years to the ACC. One of the 247/365 blogger types was at the meeting and did a report on it. Clemson discussed it at several board meetings. Doesn't mean there will be any action.
  25. I've seen enough reliable people say it that I think UW and Oregon, as part of the Big 10 (not as part of the Pac 10) bring enough to justify addition. They just don't bring up the average any noticeable amount. So it would be a strategic addition to dominate the west coast and get more playoff spots. They aren't going to bring bunches more money to anyone. Cal and Stanford were definitely dilutive.
