  1. Nonsense. SMU stayed in with a loss. UGA certainly would have.
  2. They're whining because Sankey didn't congratulate them. Of course, he mentioned Texas and OU and congratulated Texas on getting to the game their first year and then the stadium was a chorus of boos. He gave up the mic at that point. But the whole ceremony was kind of a mess. The ESPN lady running it seemed ADHD and disorganized.
  3. Sure wish we had a punter worth a damn... The only thing I can say is that his punts are short enough we don't get many returns against us. Is he the worst we have ever had? We have traditionally had good to great punters.
  4. I've never seen Georgia people throw stuff at the other team. The bark, yeah. And it seems none of you have ever been to an OU game! The whole SEC seems to have gone full aggy with the Horns down bit. They all did the gator chomp back at Florida, so they have adopted the Horns down.
  5. And based on the Massey composite, UT had the second toughest schedule (after UGA) of the 12 playoff teams.
  6. https://themw.com/news/2024/12/10/mountain-west-welcomes-uc-davis/ UC Davis joins Mountain West in all sports but football. They were in the Big West with the Big Sky hosting football. I suspect they will move up in football in a few years, but there isn't anything said about that.
  7. Georgia 46.7 Texas 50.9 Ohio St. 55.3 Penn St. 55.6 Oregon 57.0 Clemson 60.8 Arizona St. 61.3 Notre Dame 61.5 SMU 61.8 Tennessee 67.0 Indiana 75.2 Boise St. 82.9
  8. I've got a Clemson friend who expects us to win easily. And if somehow Clemson does win, he's not planning on going to the Peach Bowl because he doesn't think Clemson can win 2 in a row against this competition. He's been watching them all season and doesn't really believe they belong (except that they managed to win the ACC).
  9. The old Pac 12 contracts aren't expired. Colorado is the "Pac 12 representative." They didn't have time to redo all the bowl deals.
  10. Try Strength of Record. Bama was 11, SMU 15, Arizona St. 13 and Clemson 20. SMU would have lost more games with Alabama's schedule.
  11. 1,2,3 (3 is just irritating)
  12. I've said this before, but SEC refs don't protect players like the Big 12. Ewers had two clear late hits that didn't get called and would be called in any other conference. And one time the UGA player slapped him in the helmet with his hand. I saw Ewers complain to the refs a couple times, but they just kind of shrugged.
  13. Yeah. And nobody in the Big 12 would have gotten away with saying the refs were trying to steal the game (especially when they reversed one of the worst PI calls of the year). They just need to warn him once and then start penalizing his team. He will learn or get his belt holder to be stricter (in case you haven't noticed, he used to have someone hold his belt to keep him off the field and the guy still grabs him occasionally. His slamming Sankey after the game for Georgia's schedule was uncalled for too. Somebody just needs to quit pampering him. He's not stupid. He'll learn.
  14. It was a full speed shoulder to shoulder hit. That rocked his head and flipped the helmet off. Any helmet contact was glancing. It was just a great football hit, the kind you used to see, the kind you loved to make when you played.
  15. Receivers on both sides seemed to have grease on their hands. Small things as you say can make a difference. Ewers probably gets a TD if he throws to the other receiver on that side on 3rd down. Perfect throws instead of short throws could have been TDs on the plays before that. If UT stops Delp for one yard instead of 9 on first down or stops him when they hit him one yard short of the first on third down, UGA has to kick a FG. Lots of little things.
  16. Distracted that someone else was scoring against A&M for the first time in 13 years?
  17. The tour of MLK's boyhood home is good, especially if you get the blind guide. Its about a mile outside downtown. The Aquarium is downtown. I've always liked the World of Coke, but its not everyone's "taste." There is a tasing room with flavors from around the world.
  18. The same is true of Georgia. SEC is tough.
  19. I had that same question. Isn't the play dead when he starts to slide? It got knocked out after he started to slide but before his knee hit.
  20. Other than the Covid year, they never finished better than 3rd in their division. Basically they did the same as in the Big 12 South. They were consistently behind us, OU and Tech. In the SEC they were consistently behind Alabama, LSU and usually at least 2 of the rest.
  21. After they won their lone MNC in 1939 they only won 3 games against Texas over the next 35 years. And that was with Bear Bryant and Gene Stallings as coach (each won one of those 3).
  22. CFP standings week 14. Boise is rated ahead of Clemson. Clemson, who lost to UGA 34-3, is rated ahead of Alabama and Ole Miss who beat Georgia. Tulane with the same record is rated ahead of BYU and Iowa St. who play in the Big 12, and of course 3 loss Kansas St. who beat Tulane. This may cool the desire for adding more strong teams. Maybe the SEC would be more interested in North Carolina and less interested in FSU or Clemson. Or maybe think going beyond 16 is a bad idea. Or it may also push the SEC to try to get the Big 10 to take their balls and leave.
  23. I didn't see the posts upboard before I saw the more recently one. When I looked the 2nd time I saw the spelling.
  24. Nah, that was hiring the lazy, stupid Charley Strong and the unable to recruit Tom Hermann.
  25. DKR and his friends tried to sabotage the program. Mack did not. DKR's friends were telling recruits not to come to Texas because DKR was ticked at the way he was forced out and mostly ignored as AD. Earl Campbell once said he was ashamed of DKR. Yet we put his name on the stadium with the Memorial for the vets. Mack is 6th all time in wins with 282, behind Paterno 409, Bowden 357, Bryant 323, Pop Warner 314, Saban 297 and tied with Amos Alonzo Stagg at 282. DKR is 32 with 184. If he had coached another 10 years to 65 and only matched what Freddie Akers did and got fired for, he would have 270. If he had coached to 70 like these other guys, he would be up there with the Bear. Complacent Mack was a better coach than Strong or Hermann. Looks like we are finally out of the wilderness. It took Mack to get us over the mistakes of pushing out DKR and Akers.
