  1. There were no Bama players anywhere on that half of the endzone, eligible or ineligible.
  2. What about that punt last week? That wasn't all on the punter.
  3. Lots of stupid stuff in this poll. Alabama shouldn't be #1. Utah shouldn't be ranked 6 spots ahead of Florida who beat them. Aggy shouldn't be ranked and especially not ahead of App St. and North Carolina (both unranked). They've got Houston unranked, but with more votes than Texas Tech who beat them Saturday. Some of them probably sent it in a 6pm without even checking scores.
  4. Typical aggy. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/34570289/travel-woes-force-appalachian-state-stay-night-college-station-upset-win-texas-am "After pulling a historic 17-14 upset at No. 6 Texas A&M on Saturday, the Appalachian State football team didn't get to celebrate back home in Boone, North Carolina. Mechanical issues with the team charter forced the Appalachian State team to spend the night at the hotel where they'd slept the previous night in College Station, a team spokesperson told ESPN. With the hotel sold out, the team spread out in various hallways, conference rooms and the lobby area...."
  5. There was NO late it. He avoided the QB.
  6. We've had a bunch of bad snaps. That wasn't do to rushing it. Our snapper needs a LOT of work.
  7. One ref. The one who called the bogus targeting. He must have worked the Oklahoma St. game. Or he's an aggy.
  8. He made some good throws after the first couple of series. Not like Ewers, but still good. But he was way off in the 4th.
  9. Yes, its been bad. But complacency gets us 2010-2013. There are a lot of good signs, but they still have to figure out how to win close games.
  10. We get ranked when we beat somebody. You're a moron for thinking ND and aggy should still be ranked.
  11. Don't know that I like that. You want hungry, not satisfied after a loss.
  12. But how is Card? He had a sprained knee or ankle. Could not do long throws after Alabama twisted his leg. We have games before Quinn gets back.
  13. You don't deserve to move up with a loss. It was still a loss.
  14. They couldn't cover Worthy and Whittington.
  15. Alabama has been a really dirty team the last 5 years or so. The two guys were twisting Card's legs on his run while the other held him up. That's why he was hobbling. If it was an offensive line doing that its a penalty. Alabama doesn't need to be dirty, but they take lots of cheap shots. But ultimately, the better team made the plays when they needed to.
  16. Some of these people are assholes, but I'm not sure about the wonderful part. From Atlanta: TEXAS!!!!
  17. Not reading the whole thread, but have y'all heard the Alabama band is throwing a temper tantrum and won't come because they had to sit in the 2nd deck? Southern manners mean you abide by your host's rules.
  18. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/34551515/big-12-commissioner-brett-yormark-says-conference-vetting-options-expand Yormark-Big 12 looking west but doesn't "have" to expand.
  19. That was mine, not Scheer's. For over 3 decades it was the Pac 10. True. Bay Area is still there, but it was really about LA.
  20. Jason Scheer on twitter (AZ blogger). Pac 10 apologists again getting defensive. "At this point I’m assuming it’s Utah. Arizona and ASU aren’t talking to John and I feel very confident in saying that. Quote Tweet John Canzano @johncanzanobft · 1h Big 12's latest expansion jab falls flat in Pac-12 footprint. Said one of the Pac-12's current four corners ADs: “I have no idea what he’s talking about. He just continues to throw stuff out to disrupt. Seems like some level of desperation.” Column: https://bit.ly/3excWNO"
  21. Washington St. isn't west coast. Its basically in Idaho. Idaho shared their stadium for a season or two. I think U of Idaho and Washington St. are only something like 8 miles apart.
  22. https://collegefootballplayoff.com/sports/2017/9/20/revenue-distribution.aspx the current payout. I imagine the academic nonsense will go away. For the 2022-23 academic year: Each conference will receive $300,000 for each of its schools when the school’s football team meets the NCAA’s APR for participation in a postseason football game. Each independent institution will also receive $300,000 when its football team meets that standard. A conference will receive $6 million for each team that is selected for a Playoff Semifinal. There will be no additional distribution to conferences whose teams qualify for the national championship game. A conference will receive $4 million for each team that plays in a non-playoff bowl under the arrangement. Each conference whose team participates in a Playoff Semifinal, Cotton, Fiesta, or Peach bowls, or in the national championship game will receive $2.74 million to cover expenses for each game. Based on calculations from the 2021-22 season, the following distributions were made in the spring of 2022 (Estimates for the 2022-23 season will be finalized following the 2023 CFP National Championship.): Each of the 10 conferences received a base amount. For conferences that have contracts for their champions to participate in the Orange, Rose, or Sugar bowls, the base combined with the full academic performance pool was approximately $74 million for each conference. The five conferences that do not have contracts for their champions to participate in the Orange, Rose or Sugar bowls received approximately $95 million in aggregate (full academic pool plus base). The conferences distribute these funds as they choose. Notre Dame received a payment of $3.55 million by meeting the APR standard; the other six independents shared $1.88 million. Certain conferences in the Football Championship Subdivision received approximately $2.96 million in aggregate.
  23. by 75/25, I am assuming 25% is paid based on performance, 1 share for each game played by one of your schools. There would be 22 total shares (11 teams eliminated leading to one champion, 8 for the 4 first round games, 8 for the quarterfinals, 4 for semifinals, 2 for finals).
  24. If the split is 80% A5, 20% other and 75/25 performance, it will be worth about 42 million a year for Notre Dame if they get in the playoff every other year. If you assume 3.75 bids on average for the SEC and Big 10 (and assume equal performance after the first round), it will be about $466 million a year for each of those two conferences, or about $30 million per school. The amount before the performance bonus will be about $19 million per school for the A5.
  25. I don't see any way they don't weight the split by number of conference members. The Big 10 and SEC aren't going to allow the Pac 10 to get 60% more per member. Now they may well split between the A5 evenly, but on a per member basis, not per conference. More likely, there is some monetary incentive to get more members in the playoff. I don't think it will be heavily weighted that way, but right now, its almost incidental. I think its something like $4-6 million for the 2nd team. I think it will be something like 75% of the A5 share going to the conferences equally (based on # of members) and 25% based on games played.
