  1. scrimmage was at 9:45. Injuries are starting to pile up.
  2. This is exactly what they did. Hall is a different kind of cat, and they wanted to see if perhaps the Texas approach worked in a way the Saban approach did not. Sark knew Hall would need to be managed a little differently and was willing to try to meet him, but only to an extent. There was an appreciation that going too far into coddling territory would be harmful to trust and team chemistry and accountability. Hall was handled with a lot of input from the player leadership council because of these fears and wanting to stay in step with the team. As I've alluded to before, Hall did not have a smooth transition and has been emotionally immature in many ways his entire time in Austin. He was already being given more chances than usual and was on very thin ice before this incident.
  3. he's been on thin ice for a while now. It isn't just the misdemeanor. Chip Brown might have had poor timing or have been unnecessarily stirring the pot, but the content of what he reported a few days ago was correct.
  4. just for perspective (and I am being intentionally vague here), one of the OB practice reports from an earlier practice hyped up the performance of a player who barely practiced that day. I know everyone knows this, but to restate the obvious - there is a ton of hearsay, agenda pushing, and straight up conjecture dressed up in factual sounding language in these reports. They are fun to read and definitely scratch an itch, but not worth getting worked up over.
  5. I'm loathe to defend FCB in any way, shape, or form...but Hall is definitely not making a smooth transition. FCB is closer to the truth than Hall's self serving twitter response At this point I'd be shocked if he was still around next year.
  6. summer discipline issue. I really hope he gets his head on straight.
  7. 2:30 to be exact (for the next three days)
  8. i can confirm this. Report 8/2, camp starts 8/3. Scrimmages 8/13 and 8/20. Fan appreciation 8/16 (night practice).
  9. M: Rock sinks boat L: Michael? M: Mom, I'm right in the middle of something. [turns to Gob] Get rid of The Seaward. L: I'll leave when I'm good and ready.
  10. I don't really have much to say. I've never heard anything regarding Matharu as a bad fit or looking to get out (unlike Lattimore and Kobe). My guess is that it is a more straight forward situation where she wants more certain playing time than Texas can guarantee.
  11. obviously proof of a dominant defense.
  12. Just to be clear, I was speaking in generalities. I did not intend to comment on Harmon and any possibility of Hurst transferring. I know nothing on that front. I was just chiming in to say that romantic relationships are and have been a reality on the team. There is no need to go into specifics. I agree such dynamics are fraught with danger for reasons similar to workplace romances. Handling those dynamics is a reality of coaching - especially coaching college athletes. In addition to NIL becoming a bigger force, learning how to manage behind the scenes drama is almost as important as X's and O's. Vic seems to handle that side of things well by having a tough culture (and you see players shuffle through who are not culture fits). White, on the other hand, seemed totally caught off guard and the drama absolutely tanked the season until their backs were against the wall and the focus went back to winning. Hopefully he learned some things this season, because what happened last season can't happen again.
  13. I agree it is a difficult dynamic. I imagine Vic would prefer that dynamic not be present. But it is very much a dynamic and not something Vic is stopping.
