Past Lives
This post made me think about my favorite movie of the year. I wasn't expecting this, but after thinking about it a few minutes I think it is also my favorite movie of the year (so far).

moar! Jon Hamm in leading role...Fargo S5
My mistake - I forgot all about that guy, even with his cringeworthy golf swing. Of course, that is an even more slanderous comparison to my guy Normie.

I was with you until the bolded. How dare you slander Norm Gunderson like that! The Norm/Margie dynamic in the film was the one ray of light in an otherwise dark film. I mean, the man insisted on getting up and making Marge breakfast, even when it was ridiculously early! He brought her lunch! He paints mallards! Presuming you are comparing Wayne Lyon to Norm Gunderson, I'd also note that the "strong willed female police officer investigating the crimes" is not a featured character in Season 5. Wayne Lyon is no Norm Gunderson.

I wouldn't count on the bolded.

2024 Transfer Thread - The Pedantic Circlejerk
but there is opportunity cost. To bring in Stewart means using NIL resources and having Stewart fill a roster spot that could go to another productive, accomplished WR in the portal. Sure - if he's that bad you kick him to the curb Agiye Hall style. But what if he is only inconsistent? Not so bad that he merits getting booted, but not all the way bought in such that he doesn't block consistently, is inconsistent with finishing routes, and won't play through nagging injuries? Stewart isn't some singular talent. They'll likely need a transfer WR, and given the kinds of options typically available, I'd prefer to look elsewhere for a higher floor, even if it comes with a bit of a lower ceiling.

Wife and I watched Fishes tonight to prepare for the holiday season.- Coach Sark Press Conference 11.20 - 11:30am(ish) LHN
the team is practicing at night this week. During the season they practice in the morning. The press conference was always right after practice, and Sark, understandably, sometimes would be delayed coming off of practice. No such issue today.- Texas Recruiting Notes 2024: Bags Don't Beat Bankrolls

I wonder if Hibbler is back in play with MSU firing Arnett? Total side note, but I sat next to Zina Umeozulu for a bit at the TCU game. I know there had previously been some questions about his frame, but he definitely looks the part.- 2024 DB Wardell Mack

- Deion Sanders "Coach Prime" Now At Colorado
I've watched a lot of Colorado this season (I don't have any strong opinions for or against Sanders, I just like to watch football). They've mastered the art of having the final score look closer than the actual game. The UCLA game was 28-9 when Colorado scored with 2:38 left to make it 28-16. Oregon St was winning 23-5 early in the 4th quarter, and 26-12 with 4:47 left. Colorado scored with 1:42 left to make it 26-19. USC was winning 41-14 halfway through the 3rd quarter and 48-21 with 2:14 left in the 3rd quarter. Colorado scored with 1:43 left to make it 48-41. To be sure, your overall point is correct - they aren't getting blown out of the stadium. But the games are also less competitive than the final score would suggest.- Lincoln Riley to USC
He's 21 years old. He isn't a "kid" who needs to be soothed by his mom. It doesn't do him any good to try to justify it as just being a kid. That would be embarrassing behavior for a 15 year old. He's been mentally coddled and as a result he is a front runner who has a false sense of his abilities due to having the deck stacked in his favor playing in a QB friendly offense. He only plays a few games a year going against somewhat equal talent. The NFL is going to be a rude awakening.- Game Week 10: Texas at TCU
I've been to every game this season except Alabama. Arch warms up on the sideline during every single game. I wouldn't draw any conclusions in any direction based on Arch warming up on the sideline.- Lincoln Riley to USC
This has turned into one of the more amusing college football subplots this season for my kids. If USC looks like they are going to lose, we watch specifically for the inevitable crying. I don't care what his measurables are and what his game tape looks like. For a 21 year old QB to climb into the stands and sit on his mom's lap and cry because he lost his third game of the year - there have to be mental make up issues worthy of great concern.- Bedlam - OU @ Okie Lite - ABC

Hawaii won at Nevada today.- Jim Harbaugh NO LONGER coaches at Michigan
how much money do you think Michigan would bring in? The Big 10 distributes all bowl money equally. A college football playoff spot garners about $6 million. So assuming Michigan would make the CFP and no other Big 10 school would, that would mean the loss of $6 million over 14 teams, or about $425k. I'm guessing the schools aren't sweating that amount of money if they want to see Michigan punished.- 2024 WR Ryan Wingo
