  1. The funny thing is Drake would have beaten Louisville if Van Lith wasn't an absolute stone cold killer down the stretch (and if their one big could have shot 50% on wide open lay ins). Louisville played with much more energy and focus tonight and hit their shots. Texas laid an absolute egg, even considering the limitations. The combination of those things makes for an ugly score. Total side note, but on my way out I ran into Sydir Mitchell. I haven't felt that tiny in a long time.
  2. can’t blame the crowd - riding the refs during the commercial break, lots of energy. they want to erupt.
  3. there are valid critiques of energy, gameplan, etc, but at the end of the day this team lacks quality, creative, offensive players. Not many can create their own shot or create for others. Injuries and youth have brought them here, and hopefully the future should look different, but right now they just are not hard to defend.
  4. Moody is definitely more into it - crowd wants to be a factor.
  5. this team really struggles with entry passes to the post - Holle probably the worst offender, but Harmon makes some terrible decisions at times.
  6. she did not have surgery. She had some back luck where it could have been drained and she could have been back pretty quickly, but the blood coagulated so it could not be drained and had to naturally be removed by her body. She was on the slower end of that timeframe, unfortunately.
  7. Got to see the second half of the Louisville game before the Texas game. If Drake had a big who could reliably hit a layup they would have won by 10. Van Lith really bailed out Louisville and was their offense down the stretch. It isn't really Texas' game, but Drake got so many open/uncontested looks with their bigs slipping screens/back cutting - it looked like the Louisville bigs had never seen a backcut before in their lives. I really enjoyed watching the younger players get some extended run. Jak is going to be a monster defensively as she adds some strength and gets a bit more aggressive.
  8. nice ovation for Morris. Texas bench not happy with the blonde ref.
  9. snagged an individual national champion though!
  10. yikes, that's even worse than forgetting her.
  11. I also didn't see Charlbi Dean - you know, one of the main actresses in a Best Picture nominee who tragically died at 32 in August.
  12. my eyes are happy and my ears are bleeding. Vitale is the worst.
  13. where are people getting the idea that Murphy's injury is related to the high school injury? Is that sourced anywhere?
  14. 0-5 in first sets, none particularly competitive (11, 14, 14, 14, 15). Phillips/Crownover lose. Other 4 matches losing in the second set. Gotta start somewhere. I'm looking forward to watching the team grow as they gain experience.
  15. it's not a blood clot. The issue is a deep thigh bruise and Morris is healing very slowly. Frustrating, to be sure.
  16. Idk how true it was, but wasn't there talk of X having a broken bone in one of his hands? this is true - happened late October.
  17. Finally got to Elvis. It has been a while since I hated a movie this much. I just need to knock out The Fabelmans and I will have seen all the best pic noms. I'm still at EEAAO/Banshees/Tar.
  18. Texas is 0-2-1 all time against Syracuse. Flipping that be worthwhile.
  19. The reason he let her go was a darker version of this scene in Ratatouille. Margot saw the picture of Chef posing at the burger joint in his residence. In asking for a well made cheeseburger, she cut through all the pretension and reconnected him to what originally made him love cooking and set him on the path to being the best chef in the world. Travelling that path and being immersed in food culture ultimately corrupted his original, pure, love of cooking. He lovingly made a humble and honest dish that looked absolutely delicious - what a chef should be without all the pretentious crap that status signaling foodie culture dumps all over it. That moment softens him enough to let her go, but doesn't ultimately make him reverse course on his overall plan.
  20. no reason for concern here.
