  2. The claim that Worthy milked injuries or somehow was soft and "injured" a lot is one of the ridiculous things I have read on this site in a long time. Worthy came in as a freshman uncommonly focused - he was a tenacious worker from day 1 and is the furthest thing from soft. Marion was an awful hire and was more concerned with being the cool big brother than actually running his room - but even in the midst of all that, Worthy's toughness, work ethic, and heart should never be questioned.
  3. Very good post - I'm not adding much except to say that we tend to focus on learning scheme, adjusting to speed, getting stronger when it comes to freshman adjustments. Those are all true and important, but there is so much more - especially on the mental side - that isn't as appreciated in conventional fan wisdom but is very much part of the growth, maturation, and development of player.
  4. Bledsoe is 290 - he's plenty big enough for the position.
  5. does it? Because Barbie is the one movie that sticks out as a sore thumb for being nominated. It was definitely a cultural phenomenon and might have been fun, but it was an absolute trainwreck from a writing/directing perspective. If there is one movie people will look back on in 20 years and wonder what the heck people were thinking, it will be Barbie. That being said, I am also shocked Gerwig wasn't nominated. I'm really happy to see Triet nominated. Anatomy of a Fall is such a well written, well acted, well directed movie, and if even one facet was subpar the entire film would have collapsed. Incredibly well conceived and constructed. I'll save my outrage for Song (and Greta Lee for actress). I know it is a deeply unpopular opinion, but Nolan has incredible strengths as a director/film maker but also some massive weaknesses. There was much to admire about Oppenheimer, but I thought the direction held the film back. I'd kick Nolan out and put in Song (and bump Bening for Lee while we're at it).
  6. I liked Godzilla Minus One. It is an excellent Godzilla story and well made. There is no way in the world it would ever sniff the best international film. I've seen 8 as well (need to see American Fiction an Maestro). My personal ranking so far. Past Lives/Anatomy of a Fall/Poor Things ... The Zone of Interest/Oppenheimer/Killers of the Flower Moon ... The Holdovers ... ... ... ... Barbie
  7. FWIW, Bledsoe was in the 290's by the end of the season.
  8. If I'm reading the chart correctly, A&M has 23 transfers with 0 5 stars, 8 4 stars and 13 3 stars. 13+8=21. Does this mean 2 of their transfers are less than 3 star?
  9. I really liked the season overall but thought the finale was exceptionally weak.
  10. Catalon was a helpful barometer for when 9.95'ers were getting good information and when they were making stuff up. The notion of Catalon as some kind of defensive savior who was injured and whose triumphant return would bolster the defense that was popular on Texas boards/websites was very much out of touch with reality. I wish him well, but I'd be surprised if he did much at UNLV.
  11. don't underestimate the bolded - it was a real factor with Mitchell.
  12. FWIW - Texas' listed team roster is actually, surprisingly, fairly accurate for the most part.
  13. Got into town yesterday. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need a specific picture.
  14. I love how Sark is humble enough to absorb lessons from elsewhere and will give specific, meaningful praise to others. The head football coach at Texas isn't required to pay attention to the other sports. But not only does Sark pay attention, he is willing to actually engage. I mean, he is a busy guy this time of year. It is signing day and he is in the middle of playoff preparations. Yet he still follows the volleyball team and can speak intelligently to their journey and how it is a model for his football team's journey. He didn't just know they won. He knew they beat three number one seeds in a row and named specifically Stanford, Wisconsin, and Nebraska. What a great ambassador for the school and example to his team.
