  1. Nassau has a rather large population of Central American immigrants. I lived in Westbury when I first moved to New York and found the diversity to be cool. Apparently the racist white folks there are trying to be like their brethren next door in Suffolk County.
  2. Hitler’s fear of being captured by the Soviets turned out to be greater than anything else. As drug addled as TFG is, he was child’s play in that department in comparison to Hitler.
  3. I feel that everything you think a WNBA player should do to continue to get better will see the opposite happen. Right now she is playing well. That team is hot garbage, but with how many teams make the postseason only two teams are really out of it right now in Dallas and Connecticut.
  4. He’s a narcissist. He won’t do this. Still the sentiment of it is on the right track. It’d be great to skip through all of the not fun stuff coming towards all of us.
  5. Domestic history is probably something I should read more about so kudos to you for bringing that horrid part of our history into the conversation. It’s so odd, yet so normal that human beings ALWAYS find a group to piss on. We’ve done it with every large wave of immigrants that have come here and as you so starkly pointed out, we did it with American citizens. To me it is the worst of human behavior. We base hatred on skin color, languages used, sometimes singling out groups like the Jews and other undesirables were by the Nazis. We never learn as people. I spend a decent amount of time thinking about am I doing things that will help people out generations from now? Am I doing something to further humanity in a positive way for the millions and billions that’ll come long after I’m tossed overboard into the South Pacific to be shark food? I don’t think it makes me unique to think that way, but I do wish humans would think long-term instead of just five minutes from now and that they’d use history as a guide as to why that would be important to do so.
  6. I don’t dispute we have been fairly conciliatory towards people who either fought against the Union or those who were against Civil Rights, but later apologized for what they had done. As a nation this FEELS different. Watching American citizens being sent away, the loss of citizenship being openly talked about by the regime (I can’t call them politicians anymore) and people being degraded as being disposable based solely on how they look and that they are a darker skin color. I would expect those in Schumer’s orbit and ilk to want reconciliation. We tried this in 2020. It failed and fomented an even bigger part of the population to want what we currently have with a fascist regime in control. I think there will be acts of violence perpetrated upon some of the regime. Where can a guy like Miller live at once everything goes south for him except a prison cell? He’s a target for the rest of his life and someone that thinks violent retribution is the answer will likely go and get it if given that target of opportunity. I want all of these criminals to spend life in prison once this ends. I want the young Democrats to grow a backbone and not let these people just resume their pre-fascist life again. My bet is maybe 10 percent of the country will look back into history to see that reconciliation does not work and that it’ll just lead to another generation looking to get even for their fascist heroes being discarded. You have to completely stamp it out and to do that means at the end of this the Republican Party has to be outlawed and torn apart. Conservative folks can go form a new party based on something more modern, but the whole apparatus has to come down. Absorbing these folks back in will not heal divisions. It will just enable more morons in the future and some generation not yet born that we will never meet will have to deal with it and they’ll be left wondering why we did not do more to put an end to these people.
  7. This is stupid and you should feel like a moron for even thinking this and associating people who are with TFG. You have zero idea what autism is or what it looks like.
  8. Well yeah I’d prefer that, but FIFA is run by Trump adjacent grifters. The only way this gets cancelled is the two biggest confederations of UEFA and CONMEBOL refusing to show up and instead having their own competition. Again as likely to happen as my scenario, but one can hope.
  9. I want the US to make it out of the group stage and have to play Brazil and get beat 7-0 . Bowing out to an African nation would also be acceptable. I want Mexico to win the whole thing. When they do I want them to have a 100 piece Mariachi band on stage with them playing their national anthem and I want the trophy presented first to Vicente Fox. Then I want Vicente to cuss out TFG like he’s done on several occasions. Granted TFG won’t be anywhere near that stage or game, but Vicente will still bring the thunder. I want all the Mexicans in the stands in unison to cuss out TFG in a nice heart-warming chant. That would be the perfect World Cup.
  10. If you live through to the end of this bout with fascism you'll get your shot to do so. That 2011 Ghadafi scene might wind up playing out in the US with some of the more well-known traitors I think.
  11. They’re all floating downstream right now.
  12. Called my mom to see how they were doing. They never get flooded where she lives because the house is on the high ground just outside of Lampasas on CR 1020. However, she did say that the electricity has been out since 2:30 this morning. Pedernales is usually faster about getting it restored so they must be having some bigger issues right now. I’m honestly surprised Lampasas doesn’t have more flood issues since the town is bowl shaped. That it has been almost 70 years since the big flood in 1957 seems like they are overdue for a big one.
  13. The last time I remember Lampasas getting rain like this I was maybe 10 or so and the road by our house on CR1020 that took us into town went from a small creek to a river-sized body of water that was about 150 yards across at least. Never forget seeing all that water go up so quickly.
  14. Yeah Lampasas got a whole bunch of rain. It flooded Sulphur Creek and the annual Spring Ho festival. They put a bunch of booths at the park and I saw some pictures of the water. Probably damaged a lot of stuff for vendors that left their things out overnight.
  15. If they ever want to do a movie just on Mr. Terrific, I am in for that. To echo others, he was awesome. That part was scripted really well, and the acting was top notch.
  16. He's white so he's alright. A good illegal. Many people are calling him the best illegal.
  17. He’s just so awkward looking, but I guess I would be as well if I was that height and that thin. I do hope he stays healthy. I still believe what will keep him away from anymore serious injuries will be advances in science that can help guys like himself and Wemby overcome all of the catastrophic injuries that players that height seem to suffer. The human body is just not meant to play sports like basketball at that height, but I do hope he has a long career even if his fanbase is made up partly of dirt burglars and Bob Stoops fans.
  18. These people are infuriating. Take pictures of all of these vehicles that put the flags in them that readily identify them as racist morons. Save the pictures and then when we overcome this clown car level fascism it’ll be time to get some of these idiots thrown in jail for supporting a traitorous regime that is attempting to dismantle the entire country.
  19. Reading this is why I will go back to see it in 3D. The best feeling I have at the end of a movie is walking out smiling and feeling at peace. This one really struck a good chord with me personally. Those are the best kind of movies.
  20. As a kid I did not take to Superhero movies. We did not have a theatre to go to so everything was VHS. It was something about the kryptonite and what it did to Superman that I didn’t like. I had nothing really against the movies, but that one thing bothered me for whatever reason. I really didn’t watch any superhero movies as a child. If I watched anything I wanted to see movies that were based in factual events and history. Guess that should’ve been a clue for me as to how life would go for me. I loved this movie though and how they portrayed the kryptonite. Just a wonderful movie that I want to go back and see in 3D.
  21. I think it would be awesome if 2K26 let her morph into a grizzly bear anytime she goes on a mebounding spree in the game.
  22. Yeah that makes no sense to me either. He’s a father that loves and misses his son. The thinking that men cannot be emotional like that is silly. I loved this Superman. It’s the first time I ever enjoyed a Superman movie. More emotion from the men in the movie is a welcome development. Also you’re right. This version of Superman, and the movie overall, really captured on screen the hellscape that we are seeing in the real world. Credit to Gunn for that and a great movie overall.
  23. If for no other reason than he really, really does not like dogs.
  24. I have to use Regal out here because there is no alternative like AMC or Alamo for movies. The 30 minutes of previews are standard for them. I always show up around 25 minutes into the previews. This is definitely a movie I would NOT want to see in 4DX. I really like that kind of film, but not this one because I figured it would be a ton of seat shaking. I just watched it in RPX and it was fine. I just got in from this one and I still feel really good about having seen it. Some good life lessons in the film for anyone paying attention to things like that.
