I’d go with Halliburton though
Schroeder wound up being the MVP of the tournament and deservedly so. Taking out his horror show game in the quarters he was the leader for The Deutschland and seems to take a lot of pride in that. He is the ideal point guard in FIBA basketball. He is what every country needs in a floor general. It really is pretty cool how he takes control of the Germans when he he has the ball in his hands. Germany will be better in the Olympics if Kleber play. Playing far closer to home in Paris will also be big for the Weltmeister.
I am still not sure Fox would fit the profile of what you want in that style of play. Curry is even at his age the kind of player that can play well despite no experience with the FIBA game. When 35 feet is your range you can be on the court despite defensive limitations. His relationship with Kerr will be a big plus for him, especially if they bring Draymond aboard. When Curry is on he’s the most dangerous guard in the game. Halliburton would be someone to have, especially with the experience in the World Cup. The US needs some continuity. Reaves needs to be brought back and given a bigger role.

If you compare him to Favre, Rogers seems like a stand up guy. Keen mind, too.
If I compared someone that said 2+2=potato they would also be in the stand up guy column when compared to Favre. It’s a 7th Circle of Hell level bar Rodgers is higher than. Such a waste when you consider the good he could have been doing this far in his life. I kind of feel like Rodgers has done his family a favor in being estranged from them.

I don’t wish injuries on anyone, but this one seems fitting for Rodgers. He is not the sharpest tool in the shed and his embracing of quack science vs. now having to embrace doctors who will be using actual science to get him back to full health is quite the 180. Rodgers comes across as a really uneducated human being when he starts talking so I can only imagine some of the eye-rolling a few doctors and rehab specialists will be doing in dealing with him directly for at least a full calendar year.

The US needs big men on the roster that can shoot and defend. The Germans just showed us the roster construction you need to win. They did it with Schroeder handling the ball the majority of the time, but he had the Wagner brothers and Theis out there as well as another really solid big in Johannes Voightman. They were not your typical European squad and their size is going to be a headache again for the US if we don’t send guys who understand the international game.

Germany wins it, but the Serbians made them earn it. Schroeder and Franz Wagner were brilliant today. Without Schroeder the Germans probably don’t make the quarterfinals. His ability to handle the rock for long stretches of the game was invaluable for them and it’s why he’s an elite point guard in the international game. Franz looks like he is taking that next step and is using this competition as a springboard for the upcoming season. He and his brother Moritz looked a lot better than their American teammate did in this competition. Kinda crazy to think that the Deutschland is now the World Champions in basketball.
I also think Isaac Bonga needs to be given another shot to make an NBA roster. There is no way that he can’t be at least somewhere between the 12-15th player on a roster. He’s just 23 (Even though he looks like he’s 35) and can play some really good on ball defense.

what. it blows my mind you like tennis but didn't like to watch them play even if only for the high level of tennis they played.
I was in a different place in life and tennis was not a part of it. Not real hard to understand. I just rarely watched the sport during their heyday. I had other priorities and to be honest I watched very little in the way of sports overall during most of those years.

I have watched him, but I am so used to seeing sleeves on shirts that what they wear all just becomes the same to me. I also did not watch much of the Big 3 era because I had no rooting interest in any of them.

How awesome is this?!?! I wish I had gone out there today to watch the match! This win could not have happened to a more deserving person. It’s so hard to believe she is still only 19 with the game she has and how she carries herself. I can’t wait to watch her run roughshod over women’s tennis for the next 15 years.

Interesting. I wasn’t able to watch the match yesterday until I caught the end of the 3rd set when it was pretty entertaining. I’ve watched a decent amount of Shelton matches this season and don’t remember any entitled tantrums (beyond the normal tennis player stuff).
He does come off as bro at times but I love his game.
I thought an apt punishment for the loser of the Tiafoe-Shelton match would be that they are relegated to wearing shirts with sleeves for a year. The end brought some entertainment mainly due to Shelton finally deciding that hitting a single versus going for the three run homer on every return was a better strategy against Djokovic. Novak was rallying him to death and Shelton does not yet possess the patience required to beat someone like that. Shelton’s overall game seems like it can be fun to watch. He just has to mature some. I try to remember that Shelton is your average 20 year old when it comes to maturity upstairs and that Alcaraz is the exception here at the same age.
The shirt thing I had no idea they could go sleeveless. That has been a new one for me seeing that.

I decided to watch Lampasas play on my way home from the US Open and they were playing East View from Georgetown. It was 21-14 Lampasas when I tuned in to start the 2nd quarter and that turned into 66-21 with 7 minutes to go in the 3rd after a Badger returned an INT for a TD. The back-ups played after that it seemed like. Not a real fast team as they live up to the mantra Lampasas has had since the day before forever of “We may be small, but we’re slow.” Jett Walker seems a bit out of the ordinary for them as he is a fairly tall RB with pretty good speed. He played a lot last year in his freshman year so seems like he got the Ace Whitehead on the job training treatment which was good for him instead of staying on the freshman team.

Ha. What do you think Shelton fully deserved for his celebration infractions?
Novak should at least have the balls to own up to it…”I thought it was really cool, I copied him”. Same Novak story - still mad the crowd doesn’t love him like Roger and Rafa and is apparently miffed that the NY crowd was pumped on a 20 year old American newcomer in his 1st year on tour.
Meanwhile Shelton said if you win you should be able to celebrate how you want.
Maybe Ben should adopt the shirt rip and expose his nipples off for all to see.I am usually pretty indifferent towards athletes that are showmen and don’t care. I’ve never been the old man yelling at clouds, especially since I find Deion’s three ring circus at Colorado entertaining. However, Djokovic was absolutely slaughtering Shelton start to finish and Novak was standing there watching celebrations the entire match. He watched the young fella throw tantrums throughout the match as well. It was embarrassing to watch just as a fan, much less anyone associated with him that had to watch the immaturity on display. He gave off a strong entitled douchebro vibe which, yes, is harsh to say, but that is how Shelton came across yesterday. So yes Novak was more than justified in making fun of him. I do not care much for Djokovic as Alcaraz is why I pay attention to men’s tennis. Shelton decided to poke the bear for two solid hours and he got owned throughput the match and with the post match celebration.

Fuck the NFL. Some of us actually prefer tennis over the NFL. Hell I’d watch a WTA 500 over a rando NFL game.
I was out all day what happened ?

I don’t blame him at all for doing that. Shelton deserved more than that, but that was really funny.

Crazy how much better Schroeder is in international play. I didn't watch, but looked at box score to see where the difference was. It appeared to be an incredibly even game with neither team playing defense. If there is one advantage for Germany, they had 5 or 6 more offense rebounds and thus more shots.
Once the game slowed down in the 4th it really favored the Germans. They were not going to be able to keep playing at the pace of the first three quarters.
Schroeder really plays incredibly well in international ball. Gotta give him the lion’s share of the credit for the win today as he played a great game. The final should be really good against Serbia.

Elon Musk: Nazi traitor piece of shit [Confirmed]
in Daily Texan
Criminal, war criminal, narcissistic head case, clownfraud, irredeemable human excrement. You can pick a ton of labels for this coward and all would fit. I have detailed my biggest issue with him, but to the rest of the world he needs to be remembered as a cowardly criminal that backed down in the face of authoritarianism because it is what he respects and aspires to be. He’ll never be the hero that he is in his mind (Absolutely has delusions of grandeur), but if you can control the narrative you can be whatever you want people to see you as.
