  1. Not a Dylan fan, but stopped in to see the movie. I pay a monthly membership so leaving a movie isn’t throwing 20 dollars down the drain. I probably watch three movies a week. If a movie does not necessarily connect with me I am not going to see it through. I do think this movie will be good for a lot of folks to see though.
  2. Oh he absolutely deserved that. Probably had several other similar run-ins that never made it to light. Unfortunately what his dad should have done is gotten him some form of help and he did not do that. When I was that age I received no help because my parents just thought I was different. They were right, but they left it at that. I can remember incidents on a few occasions of being bullied. Not many, but a few. I remember harboring resentment towards those people for YEARS. Now I look back and realize that it wasn’t the world being against me, I just didn’t fit in like most folks did and now I am cool with that since I understand what is going on. The difference here is I did not go on a crusade of sorts like this monster and decide to leave a trail of pain and misery everywhere I go. I decided to pour my energy and ability to have a really sharp focus into doing good for others each day. Nothing big or anything I would ever want or ask attention for though. Just doing good for others is reward enough. Elmo went the other direction and will keep doing harm until someone stops him. That full stop isn’t coming anytime soon.
  3. I am glad he took the time to explain that. Being autistic is no excuse for his behavior, but the early part of his life and being bullied did shape him. Clearly no one got him any help. Now he is in his 50’s and has a lifetime’s worth of imaginary scores to settle and he will use the United States government to do it. Thanks again to you 77 million plus that voted for this reality. Next round of cocktails filled with Covid curing bleach is on me. To further expound on what my exceptionally smart neurodivergent brother said there, Elon likes to play people and groups off of one another. Why it is almost as if he paid attention to how the Afrikaners treated the 11 Indigenous groups of South Africans during Apartheid. You split them up and tell one group that the other group is the reason for your troubles. It becomes a never ending circle of hate for everyone. We have a narcissistic and extremely racist Afrikaner whose entire life since his childhood has been about getting back at people. He never evolved past that and now he has an actual office in Washington DC where he can talk to his god king and feed him whatever he has to in order to get what he wants. To say this is not ideal for us citizens of the United States who aren’t part of the cult is like saying Pearl Harbor was just some Japanese pilots on vacation that happened to accidentally drop a few bombs on some unsuspecting Americans. The seriousness of this moment in our history cannot be overstated.
  4. Put his office right out there on the grass next to the Andrew Jackson statue at Lafayette Park and tell him his orange god king will have a new project for him in two weeks.
  5. So I want to be fair here and I always try to preface the things I say about movies with this statement. Too often I see movies that are written off here by other posters as being terrible just because they did not like it. I did not personally enjoy watching this, but that does not mean this is not a well done movie. I feel that people who really like Bob Dylan will enjoy this one. What got me to finally leave early on watching this is that his personality in the movie was very off-putting and I just never have really connected with his music. There are plenty of people here who have connected with his music and that’s cool. If it wins some awards they will be well deserved. This was a movie I had reservations about watching, but that is just me.
  6. I don’t disagree with any of that. The best thing for the latest in the Manning family of QB’s is to be as far away from Dallas as possible. When a glamour franchise in any sport is mismanaged this badly it’s just not good for the league. It’s somewhat incredible to look through 30 years worth now of this franchise doing nothing of note. They’re basically the Jaguars with a star on their helmet.
  7. I will make this real clear. Musk knew what he was doing. Anyone on social media or real media making excuses for what he did is a waste of a human being. I am on the spectrum and you can put me in front of a crowd, ask me to give a speech and at the end, and this is key, BEING ON THE SPECTRUM WON’T MAKE ME SALUTE THE CROWD LIKE I’M AT THE NUREMBERG RALLIES.
  8. 50 senators and a guy who enjoys having sex with couches voted for a white nationalist to run the Defense Department. Good job America. 77 million or so of you need to be shot directly into the sun for this.
  9. I think you will find your life to be better in the fall not having a team. I quit being a fan of a team 11 or 12 years ago. I get people who will stay with their team win or lose, but if you get zero joy from watching your team play it’s probably time to find something else to devote your time to.
  10. You’ll be doing this the rest of your life. They aren’t going anywhere and Jerruh will live to be 130 because evil people work like that.
  11. I gotta say I NEVER want to visit that guy’s doctor. Doctor Nick sounds superior to any doctor saying that. I might as well drink bleach to cure Covid.
  12. I hope a whole lot of finding out is done by anyone who thinks that.
  13. I have not seen one yet, but I would imagine this has more to do with not being on the highways that much. The only time I get on them is to take a bus to the North Shore. They do seem interesting. I feel like I’d wreck one attempting to adjust to driving on the right side of the vehicle though.
  14. Same here. I prefer to have a female doctor for the same reason. I find that the temperament and ability to do their job with more compassion is better than that of their male counterparts on average. We obviously have some male doctors on this board who are people I would trust, but overall women have been the best doctors I have had in my own experiences.
  15. I am going to need to confirm with the Flat Earth King, Kyrie Irving, on just how flat it is.
  16. Worthless trash human being comes back to, and you’re not going to believe this, confirm that he is doubling down on being an ignorant doddering fool who supports our new racists and wannabe nazis in charge. He will one day make the world a better place when he no longer is confined to his mortal coil.
  17. There might be some folks in a few Pacific locales that want a word with you.
  18. I sent a voice message on Tuesday to the mother of my ex-girlfriend thanking her for what she did five years ago on the last night I drank. I told her that if she is able to do so to tell her daughter thank you for kicking me to the curb as that likely saved my life. Hopefully one day I can tell her myself on the phone or in-person. Her mother is an amazingly strong woman and Christian (yes there are a few good ones out there) who thought I could do better and has never stopped helping or encouraging me. Every single day I attempt to make the best of it that I can. Now obviously some days are just going to be completely out of sync. We all deal with that regularly. The difference that I tell myself is that I do not need to ever again run to a bottle and check out on life. The desire to drink died the day I quit. One of the things for me is I took that laser-like focus I have with being on the spectrum and used it to form good habits instead of something that was destroying me bit by bit. The only part of this that sucks is that 1st year saying goodbye to my aunt a year and a day after I stopped drinking. I had to see her incapacitated on a FaceTime call and say goodbye to her while I was in Vermont celebrating one year sober. I will forever think of how alcohol robbed me of her and her children of their mom and the grandchildren who she was in the beginning stages of showering with love. She was a nurse for three decades and knew better, but her and her longtime alcoholic boyfriend just kept drinking. She stopped a month before she died, but it was too late. If any of you reading this feel like alcohol is taking over your life please reach out to someone on this thread or someone in-person you trust. The alcohol never loses. You do not have to let it win though. You can make a stand and say no more. Perhaps it will not be as painless as it was for me to walk away, but do it if you cannot function without drinking. Your friends and loved ones will thank you for doing that.
  19. Same to you my friend! 🤘
  20. My favorite movie I have ever watched outside of the movie Patton is Jojo Rabbit. I saw it the night it came out and got to listen to Taika Waititi talk to us after the movie ended. He took questions and explained the movie and why he did it, which was cool. That was October 2019 when he was sounding the alarm about feeling a sense of frustration that he was making a movie to remind people about the nazis. If you have ever seen him talk you know he is a pretty lighthearted guy that is universally loved by the folks who work with him. He was pissed having to trample on Nazi ideology again almost eight decades after they got beaten senseless in WWII. Here we are confronting homegrown idiots now. I am sure they will all peacefully denounce their beliefs once they hear some reason and common sense from those of us who aren’t wannabe nazis.
  21. It saddens me greatly to see what this orange clown and his band of death cult followers have done. Hardly unique to see this kind of person in power throughout history, but you would never have expected it to happen in America, but here we are. Our soon to be allies in name only are hopefully putting together contingency plans to deal with us for at least four years, if not longer.
  22. You are a trash human being who should be completely embarrassed to say what you just did.
  23. ISWYDT We are absolutely Fubar’d. I have never been more angry and embarrassed to be an American than I was today. The right words for today escape me. None would be nice though. 77 million people wanted today and got it. Elon Musk would have gotten beaten to death 80 years ago by every single American for what he did today and their orange cult leader would have been a laughingstock, but not today.
