  1. Judge doing his level best to make sure this is not a sweep with another solo shot. He’s even getting some help tonight from Grisham who got his batting average into triple digit numbers with his homer.
  2. I never have followed any WNBA team closely, but I will keep up with the Fever more often than any other team. I find the Aces to be a fascinating team because of how they play as well though. Clark is what a dozen games into her rookie season and is the face of the league. I find the jealousy exhibited towards her to be childish and immature, but people are going to people. Nothing new under the sun.
  3. As soon as she said “With that being said” you knew she would undo everything prior to that.
  4. If the league is meaningless to so many people then a negative comment shouldn’t mean that much, even coming from Silver.
  5. It is. Silver has said it has taken longer than they originally envisioned, but yes when the commissioner of the NBA feels the money is well spent then I believe that says the money is being put to good use. A year of whatever it is that Westbrook currently is could fund four years worth of the money required from the NBA. I would rather see money spent on things that are positive instead of 200 million handed to a guy who cannot stay out of trouble like Ja Morant. Again this is all chump change to the NBA.
  6. I have never objected to the NBA putting money into the WNBA. I agree with the rationale you presented and I think Silver has said something similar. The money they put into the league is well spent.
  7. Per NBA team it comes out to 400k per year right now. They should be on the cusp of break even if they can use the momentum Clark has brought. Another way to look at that money is the Sixers spend 36 million a year on Tobias Harris. 12 million comes across as a rounding error in NBA money terms.
  8. This series was a wrap once Soto decided to get rest for his injury. Dodgers looking like they will get a sweep tomorrow. The Yanks have as many runs in 18 innings as one swing of the bat got for the Dodgers. Totally different team without Soto, which shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. At least Judge is still swinging an extremely hot bat even if it is a blowout.
  9. Looks like the Yanks will be shutout in 11 unless they figure out a way to generate some runs. Not a good first game without Soto in the lineup.
  10. I am still not entirely sure why this is a guy that has a job working in the media. He is not eloquent nor is he particularly informative. For me he is the basketball version of Dan Orlovsky. No real good reason either has the job they do.
  11. Pretty cool how he’s friends with a direct descendant of Neanderthals. Won’t help him in court, but maybe she can find him a rock to go live under once he loses everything.
  12. Maybe he winds up homeless and hooks up with Icono and gets his drugs while doing the thing Icono enjoys so much. That seems a more fitting end.
  13. I feel like those families want to see him feel just a tiny bit of the percentage of pain they carry with them everyday. I think that factor motivates them more than monetary payouts. Knowing his life is completely destroyed seems to bring them more satisfaction. I am absolutely good with that. If he lives past his 50’s I would be shocked. I think he OD’s on opiates before then.
  14. It sounds like Soto will be fine and has been playing through the pain. Looks like he is just going to pinch hit this weekend. I wanted to go watch a game in this series with LA and my boss at work even offered me his two season tickets to one game if I wanted to go. I will probably wait to take him up on his offer for a Mets or Red Sox series when Soto is back. I guess we get to see if the Yanks can fill the void this weekend and beat Ohtani and the Dodgers without him.
  15. I want that stuff included. I do realize it was prior to the appointment, but we know why he got it paid. Man have we failed so miserably as a country to be in this position with the highest court in the land.
  16. This total is absolutely false. That guy had debt wiped away like it never existed and I am supposed to believe he took only a 100?
  17. This is a somber day I believe to remember the young men who died trying to retake Europe from the Nazis. There were so many more lives to be lost between Europe, China, the Central Pacific Drive, MacArthur retaking the Philippines, Iwo Jima and the biggest battle of all for Okinawa. Just so much death and yet here we are not learning the lessons that these brave men taught us 80 years ago. We need to do better and honor the few still left and insure the world is never plunged into the mass chaos that happened across the world from 1931-1945.
  18. Anytime Chrispy, or one of his numerous accounts since then. inserts his hetero argument on players just ignore it. A baller is a baller. End of story. Clark just came along at the precise right time to capture the attention she has. It’s good for the WNBA and that’s awesome in my book. Hopefully it leads to other players and teams gaining in popularity.
  19. Just to commment on one aspect here. The Huskies took 18.6 seconds per possession, which is quite a bit of time. The movement and length of these plays are pretty cool to watch. Where this would translate to success for the Lakers is that LA has to play a slower style with Davis and James on the court. I think it would also lead to another year of getting about 24 free throws a game, which LA needs in order to give the old guys a rest at times. Or this could backfire massively and LA winds up looking like the 80’s Clippers. Either way it’ll be interesting.
  20. Yeah there’s no getting around that. He brings a media frenzy and then when he goes full passive-aggressive when he’s frustrated it brings unwanted attention to the team. He’s been mostly good to have as a Laker, but man the unending attention is I guess like when Barca had Messi. Being in LA also helps bring that tidal wave of attention.
  21. Once PE shows up the end game is to close you down by-by-bit.
  22. I would counter that at the top they are the exact opposite of the Cowboys. Jeanie is the most respected governor in the NBA and does not interfere in personnel decisions. She stays out of it and just supports the team. The circus stuff comes from so many reporters wanting to beat each other to the punch on a story that should be a run-of-the-mill type thing to report on. I think Woj sat on the info while his former protege put out other stuff. I was joking with a Mavs fan friend earlier about the attention being on LA now. It’ll subside as soon as the opening tip happens tonight. This could be one of the best finals in the last 25 years and no amount of Lakers news will diminish it. Now next year when we’re trotting out Bronny as a starter on opening night? Hoo boy get ready for some Japanese media following Ichiro or Ohtani related craziness.
  23. He was also probably trying to see if the value of his building went up since it was the tallest one again. There is no low for him. We all know that, but what we see as negative human traits his followers see as “He’s a moron just like us!”
  24. Just so we all get a good reminder of what a good person is in comparison to a narcissistic psycho. Steve Buscemi is down there volunteering and risking his own life and health alongside his brothers trying to save lives at the WTC. His instinct was to help those suffering and to save lives. I do not believe he has ever willingly brought it up unless asked about the experience. Meanwhile Dotard is saying this. What an incredible difference there is between these two people.
