  1. I’m cool with that. Great coach that excels at player development. Pay him what he wants. The best part is reading Woj just mention his brother almost in passing in that article.
  2. He definitely is a good guy. I am friends with the guy who played Buscemi’s butler on season two of Boardwalk Empire. He said working with him was a great experience and he was so kind to everyone on set.
  3. That schedule right out of the gate was insane, especially so for a team with very little in the way of top shelf talent on the roster.
  4. These leagues have brought this upon themselves in the pursuit of more revenue.. Eventually there will be a star get another lifetime ban.
  5. You do not have the ability to look at opinions other than your own and you know this. Objectivity is being able to see another point of view, in this case why are the Yankees better this season than last year. My opinion is it is because of Soto and that he is the engine of the whole thing. You have a different opinion and that this is a Judge driven machine. Neither opinion matters .
  6. Once again you have zero objectivity and are obviously perturbed about an opinion, that much like your own, does not matter. The difference is I can read your opinion, as can others, and not respond like that. Get over yourself and get back to your bread and butter of making wildly inaccurate predictions about high school football. I gotta say that Mr. Mendoza finds this to be an impressive line.
  7. My argument, if there is or will eventually be one to be made, is that Soto is the engine making everything go. Volpe is having a much better year with Soto behind him and Judge is benefitting hitting behind him. Even Stanton has managed to remain upright this year. You take Soto out of the lineup and the Yanks are right where they were last year.
  8. He should be the front runner for AL MVP right now.
  9. The Yanks have had quite the 9th inning. Soto’s contract just keeps going higher with moments like that. I don’t know where this team would be without him.
  10. My brother had a really serious work accident about a month ago and he could’ve died had he not finally gone to the ER. We don’t talk a great deal and it is because of me being a terrible older brother when we were kids. All of it looks different now in the context of having had autism and no one knowing, but you can’t change the most past. I sent him a text and he responded a few days later once he came around. He told me to come visit this summer since I haven’t been home in three years. He has some severe anxiety that contributes to his health issues, but hopefully he heals up and everything that happened does not hinder his long-term health. Sometimes I think family issues are the most difficult to overcome and this one has been a life-long hindrance to us being much more than acquaintances. I just give him his space to hopefully eventually sort through the past and make peace with it. I apologized five years ago for not being a better brother, but time has not yet healed these wounds.
  11. I randomly saw that Lampasas RB Jett Walker transferred to Georgetown. That’s a big gain for them getting Walker. Lampasas will definitely be throwing the ball more now for sure which I am glad about since all of the WR’s and TE/H-Back and QB returned. WR Ty Johnson is going to have quite a sophomore season now with one less guy to share touches with. He’s a guy that were he at one of the big 5A or 6A schools would already be far higher up the recruiting lists for 2027. I believe I read he got his first official offer from Tech this spring on a visit.
  12. Chiang kai-Shek was to be kind a terrible leader of China before the civil war, but he did warn our diplomats about Mao and the Communists. Peanut saw the coming storm in China once the Pacific War ended. If you had told America in the 1930’s that China would be an adversary almost a century later they would’ve laughed as Americans were almost universally sympathetic to their fight with Japan in the 1930’s.
  13. Ezra. It was a movie about a father and his autistic son and an unplanned trip they take across the country. I enjoyed it because I saw so many things in the movie that the child experiences that I still experience as an adult on the spectrum. DeNiro had a supporting role that he took because I f having one of his own children having autism. I feel like this is a movie where if you do not know much about autism or have a child that is on the spectrum then this would be good to see.
  14. I honestly don’t care who Europeans like or do not like. It was an anecdote about Finns I know and their opinion. I mostly meet some pretty nice French people both here and when I was in Tahiti. My opinion of New Yorkers is 12 of them did the right thing today. Don’t really care about the rest of this city. Those 12 did good and that’s all that really matters.
  15. The Finns are good people. I have stayed in contact with a couple I met five years ago. I remember a quote from the guy when we were talking about Europe, France and French attitudes in particular. “Nobody in Europe likes France. We all hate the French.”
  16. I believe the better part of this is how it is Walton going above and beyond to make others happy. It’s not just an “I met Bill and he shook my hand and went on my way story.” He really made sure that by the time you were done talking to him that you felt like you had made a new friend. That level of kindness and generosity is so very rare. I cannot think of another athlete of his stature that treated everyone he met like they were the celebrity.
  17. The reaction was so fantastic though. He said everything that every single player ever wanted to say to him in that outburst. I mean even the other umpires are glad he is gone. There was quite literally no one in the sport that liked or respected him. It’s insane that he did this for three decades. MLB would have been better served to pay him to not umpire games instead of what they got from him.
  18. Hope the Mavs win tonight and get four more wins after that. I may not like the things Flat Earth says off the court, but he has fit perfectly alongside Luka. Getting away from the glare of the New York media has been good for him. It seems he has mostly focused on basketball again. I think Dallas wins the finals in 6 games. They will have the best player and 3rd best player on the court as well as guys who just fit seamlessly around the two stars. I actually might amend that to the two best players on the court play for Dallas if Brown reverts back to his past failures on the biggest stage.
