  1. Flying out on the 11th. Got a place in Honolulu since it’s close to work. Going to spend time much more time in nature again for the first time in a good long while. Looking forward to being able to travel to South Pacific countries like The Solomons and Palau. It was not feasible to do so living in NYC because of the amount of time it took to get there.
  2. Never get tired of seeing this every year at The Met. Went to see it one last time before I leave in a couple of days.
  3. I checked and he was out in the California desert getting his 500 dollar chili bowl haircut today so he’s off the board!
  4. He’s about 13 or 14 years in now with ‘Merica. I watched him eat enough for three people each day the year I worked with him. He never put on a single pound.
  5. Not a shocking outcome here. Part of it is this is his only living son. I would posit most of us would do the same thing if we had that kind of power to protect our child from prosecution. Does it make it right? No. I personally think Biden just finally said to himself “F it. You guys wanted me to step down as the nominee because I couldn’t win yet we still lost.” He is at least going to protect his son at this point. He has nothing left to lose. Caring about how he is remembered is not real important once you are dead and gone. That legacy stuff just matters to those still alive or the historians writing about it.
  6. I would not expect all of them to leave, but any journalist staying on there is aiding a narcissistic megalomaniac in making more money. A long time ago a coach told me you either take a crap or get off the toilet. I will not feel bad for those journalists that stay, whether I like them or not, and wind up covered in feces.
  7. Good. Now let’s find out how many American journalists are willing to do the same thing.
  8. One of my co-workers loved it. He was really anticipating seeing it and he said it lived up to his expectations. This is a movie that is not really one for me so I am going to take his word for this being a great experience. He is not prone to hyperbole either which makes me think it must have really been a fantastic movie.
  9. I work as a server and had one aggy couple that came in near the beginning of the game. They were watching it on their phone and I asked them who they wanted to win. “We’re rooting for A&M!” All I said back to them was I hope you get beat by a 100.
  10. The Celina-Stephenville semi-final should be a fun game. Lampasas is in the process of imploding defensively and giving up half a hundred. When you are the slower team on the field and your opponent is from the Panhandle, you severely lack team speed. Hopefully next year they find a way to get Ty Johnson more involved. This year was mostly average because it was a run first QB in Jerome. He was really good at that, but when you have a 2027 WR that UT has already invited for a visit you might should let him touch the ball more often than he did. Still a really good year by Lampasas standards.
  11. I left a laughing emoji only because it is common knowledge that Christians are the worst tippers. Thank God I work in tourist areas and can avoid those Sunday after service crowds.
  12. Going tomorrow morning. Seems pretty cool and I enjoyed the first one.
  13. A Real Pain. Directed by Jesse Eisenberg as well as starring himself and Kieran Culkin. This was a beautiful movie and they got a lot done in 90 minutes. Culkin’s character was poignant and will probably resonate with some folks here. The Concentration Camp scene was great in how it let the horrors there speak for themselves.
  14. I’d greatly appreciate never hearing again about Elon being on the spectrum. He is a complete embarrassment of a human being to the rest of us who are on it as well. This is not directed at you Brisket. We have people posting here about it who think they are experts on the subject that do not know and will never know what this is like because they are not on the autism spectrum. I can tell you that Elon makes a choice to be the narcissistic clown that he is. He is wholly unrelated to those of us just wanting to live a quiet life and do better for those in the world around us.
  15. Marco’s was the first chain pizza I had that used that cup pepperoni. They make some really, really good pizza. I can recall as a kid when Tony’s frozen pizza used that kind of pepperoni. Never had a better frozen pizza than that, by far.
  16. Pizza Hut was always my favorite pizza as a kid and it still is. All those Friday nights eating it as a kid watching TGIF was good memories. My mom worked at the one in Lampasas before I was born. My brother loved Mr Gatti’s. Good, but never supplanted Pizza Hit for me. Gatti’s ranch dressing was/is great.
  17. That reminds me of a story a friend from Niger told me when he first came to America. Someone took him to a buffet and he didn’t know what it was. He said to his friend “You mean I can pay 11 dollars and eat as much as I want to eat?!?! He ate for two hours. He weighs about 140 soaking wet. He couldn’t believe such a thing existed.
  18. Fork’em! This is a fun first season to be a supporter for ASU!
  19. Helobious just doomed a high school football team last night to a loss in a game they were up by 18 in the 3rd quarter. He is nails at that kinda stuff.
  20. I enjoyed it. Plenty of fighting and Denzel did his thing which, honestly, it does not much matter what he is in because he’s just great at his craft. I watched it in IMAX and though the sound was a bit much it did make it a cool experience. I liked Pascal’s character as well. Mescal, at times, I found him to be annoying, but that seemed to be the point to be that way in some of his scenes. The rest of the cast did not matter much. The monkey was humorous to watch.
  21. Georgetown has junior Lampasas transfer Jett Walker at RB. He had over 2200 yards and 35 TD’s (36 total with a TD catch) going into the game. Can’t imagine how he and his teammates have to feel waking up today from that nightmare.
  22. Just incredible. His words took away a victory for them. He has a real talent for this.
  23. The Calhoun game is a bit of a revenge after they lost to Davenport last year. Good on them for getting that win.
  24. West Plains pistol whipped Brownwood 49-14 and Lampasas won 55-21 against Dumas. That game was done again by halftime with a five touchdown second quarter by the Badgers. Stephenville beat the Whitefaces from Hereford on Thursday night 35-7. Stephenville should win handily again next week. Lampasas is going to have to come out strong from the start next Friday. West Plains opened in 2022 so this is mostly new to them, but they have to be pretty good to put up half a hundred on Brownwood in a playoff game. Believe the game is being played at the Mustang Bowl in Sweetwater. Lampasas hasn’t gone this far in Region 1 since the state semi-final appearance in 3A while a part of district 8 that year. I still can recall listening to the radio broadcast from the playoff game that year against the Crane Golden Cranes. Lampasas kicked a 30 yard field goal as time expired to win 10-8. My parents were not taking us to the games as we were too young for my parents to want to drive my younger brother and I really far. I think that was the 3rd round game that year against Crane, but not entirely sure. I went to check and it was indeed the 3rd round. If I could remember things that were actually important I’d have it made! 😂 Fun year until the state semis against Jefferson where we lost 26-0. Best season we had until the 2019 Ace Whitehead Experience got us so painfully close to being in the state title game.
  25. This ends exactly how it does with everyone else that tried to be BFF’s with numb nuts. They will eventually turn on each other, but in this instance the insanely rich immigrant will get put out of the country by the guy who can do it. From there it’ll get really interesting.
