  1. It’s about that time for the city to be super crowded for about three and a half weeks.
  2. Arizona State beats…It doesn’t matter. Making the playoffs was good enough. Still might as well win the whole thing while you’re there!
  3. I’m flying out of there on Wednesday morning. I don’t anticipate any issues, but it’ll be because I am there 5-6 hours before the flight leaves.
  4. Does anyone here foresee his getting captured, sent to trial and then being acquitted because several of the jurors will have been denied coverage by UHC or their own healthcare plan? I put the odds at -800 on an acquittal of murder. This seems like it will be like some murders that occurred in the Japanese army more than a century ago where underlings killed those in power because they were harming people through their actions.
  5. I hope you will go through there again at some point during the holidays. I drive out in the morning to stop for three days in Lampasas. Last time I will ever set foot there. Want to meet my almost three year old nephew before I fly out and see my almost 6 year old niece for the first time in three years. New York has been good to me and I learned a lot from so many people from all around the world. Time to learn about new cultures and explore new parts of the world and blend in all over again. It was really nice to have met you Penelope. You’re a really good person. Keep on traveling and making the world a better place. Keep doing you and being the coolest Texan I know!
  6. I am aware of which one is the big island. I just didn’t feel like creating a whole new thread and used this one instead. I was just out there the first 10 days of November to find an apartment. I’d rather be on the actual Big Island, but the job and convenience of travel to other destinations is on Oahu. My next move will be as far into the South Pacific as I can get. For now though Hawaii is good by me. I can’t even recall the last time I read about Rocko. Whatever happened to him?
  7. I’ll be honest. I do not wish violence or death upon people, but this man enriched himself at the expense of millions of Americans. Millions of people whose lives and those of their loved ones were forever altered by UHC and their ilk not stepping up to help those in their time of need because profit mattered more. I think the best way to treat this man’s death is to just ignore that he ever existed and if they ever find the culprit, well, fine. If not, well, that’s fine too. I’d have NYPD spend the same amount of time investigating this as they would a street mugging.
  8. Flying out on the 11th. Got a place in Honolulu since it’s close to work. Going to spend time much more time in nature again for the first time in a good long while. Looking forward to being able to travel to South Pacific countries like The Solomons and Palau. It was not feasible to do so living in NYC because of the amount of time it took to get there.
  9. Never get tired of seeing this every year at The Met. Went to see it one last time before I leave in a couple of days.
  10. I checked and he was out in the California desert getting his 500 dollar chili bowl haircut today so he’s off the board!
  11. He’s about 13 or 14 years in now with ‘Merica. I watched him eat enough for three people each day the year I worked with him. He never put on a single pound.
  12. Not a shocking outcome here. Part of it is this is his only living son. I would posit most of us would do the same thing if we had that kind of power to protect our child from prosecution. Does it make it right? No. I personally think Biden just finally said to himself “F it. You guys wanted me to step down as the nominee because I couldn’t win yet we still lost.” He is at least going to protect his son at this point. He has nothing left to lose. Caring about how he is remembered is not real important once you are dead and gone. That legacy stuff just matters to those still alive or the historians writing about it.
  13. I would not expect all of them to leave, but any journalist staying on there is aiding a narcissistic megalomaniac in making more money. A long time ago a coach told me you either take a crap or get off the toilet. I will not feel bad for those journalists that stay, whether I like them or not, and wind up covered in feces.
  14. Good. Now let’s find out how many American journalists are willing to do the same thing.
  15. One of my co-workers loved it. He was really anticipating seeing it and he said it lived up to his expectations. This is a movie that is not really one for me so I am going to take his word for this being a great experience. He is not prone to hyperbole either which makes me think it must have really been a fantastic movie.
  16. I work as a server and had one aggy couple that came in near the beginning of the game. They were watching it on their phone and I asked them who they wanted to win. “We’re rooting for A&M!” All I said back to them was I hope you get beat by a 100.
  17. The Celina-Stephenville semi-final should be a fun game. Lampasas is in the process of imploding defensively and giving up half a hundred. When you are the slower team on the field and your opponent is from the Panhandle, you severely lack team speed. Hopefully next year they find a way to get Ty Johnson more involved. This year was mostly average because it was a run first QB in Jerome. He was really good at that, but when you have a 2027 WR that UT has already invited for a visit you might should let him touch the ball more often than he did. Still a really good year by Lampasas standards.
  18. I left a laughing emoji only because it is common knowledge that Christians are the worst tippers. Thank God I work in tourist areas and can avoid those Sunday after service crowds.
  19. Going tomorrow morning. Seems pretty cool and I enjoyed the first one.
  20. A Real Pain. Directed by Jesse Eisenberg as well as starring himself and Kieran Culkin. This was a beautiful movie and they got a lot done in 90 minutes. Culkin’s character was poignant and will probably resonate with some folks here. The Concentration Camp scene was great in how it let the horrors there speak for themselves.
  21. I’d greatly appreciate never hearing again about Elon being on the spectrum. He is a complete embarrassment of a human being to the rest of us who are on it as well. This is not directed at you Brisket. We have people posting here about it who think they are experts on the subject that do not know and will never know what this is like because they are not on the autism spectrum. I can tell you that Elon makes a choice to be the narcissistic clown that he is. He is wholly unrelated to those of us just wanting to live a quiet life and do better for those in the world around us.
  22. Marco’s was the first chain pizza I had that used that cup pepperoni. They make some really, really good pizza. I can recall as a kid when Tony’s frozen pizza used that kind of pepperoni. Never had a better frozen pizza than that, by far.
  23. Pizza Hut was always my favorite pizza as a kid and it still is. All those Friday nights eating it as a kid watching TGIF was good memories. My mom worked at the one in Lampasas before I was born. My brother loved Mr Gatti’s. Good, but never supplanted Pizza Hit for me. Gatti’s ranch dressing was/is great.
  24. That reminds me of a story a friend from Niger told me when he first came to America. Someone took him to a buffet and he didn’t know what it was. He said to his friend “You mean I can pay 11 dollars and eat as much as I want to eat?!?! He ate for two hours. He weighs about 140 soaking wet. He couldn’t believe such a thing existed.
  25. Fork’em! This is a fun first season to be a supporter for ASU!
