  1. The god of the GQP cult only protects thieves, liars, rapists and con artists. Little kids are on their own once they’re born with those folks.
  2. My man Carlitos! Can’t wait to watch him out in Flushing in a little more than a month! I wish some of Rune’s fans had stuck around to yell out Ruuuuuuune during the ceremony when Djokovic got his well-earned not championship trophy.
  3. Trump will not win this election. I don’t condone anyone trying to murder him, but this is not going to push him past 270. Biden and his diminished mental faculties will still win. Is the next four plus months going to be wild? Absolutely. It will still end with one final loss to put on Trump’s resume of losses, bankruptcies, decisions in court made against him etc.
  4. I would prefer he have to face the penalties for a lifetime of awful and horrific behavior towards people. I do not support someone attempting to murder him. I want to see him behind bars not six feet under.
  5. Why only 80? Why not 40k feet over an active volcano?
  6. Oh I am certain we will all hear it a bunch. I am gonna go to the beach and just watch it on my phone and hope that when Alcaraz arrives in NYC in August that he is the back-to-back Wimbledon champion.
  7. Time for Alcaraz to put Djokovic out to pasture permanently on Sunday.
  8. This one really hit me because of how he was killed execution-style right there in a neighbor’s yard. Murdered the kid and then QI covered his backside (The law changed somewhat right after this execution happened in Maryland, but it won’t put the murderer behind bars). The murderer was even referred to as being “the victim” in this. I told a friend at work last night that when I leave the continental US in January that I will never set foot on it again. So much cruelty for no reason other than people can do it.
  9. Dave McKenna wrote this article and he has covered this ongoing miscarriage of justice. Some of y’all I know subscribe to Defector and while most of the content is sports they do not limit themselves to solely covering that and report on a plethora of other topics. They will write about pretty much whatever they want as the employees collectively own the company. McKenna is a Tech grad I believe, but is a DC lifer outside of his time spent in Lubbock for college so this is a story that hits really close to home for him. The picture taken by a neighbor of this child less than a minute before he was murdered is so heartbreaking and infuriating. https://defector.com/u-s-court-of-appeals-rules-against-cop-who-killed-peyton-ham
  10. Obviously working in a restaurant means I will cross paths with a whole bunch of people who either are doing hard drugs or drinking heavily, or both. I know one of them drinks sometimes at work because I can smell it amd I have heard him mention it to someone else. I saw him last week and said I wanted to ask him a question. I asked him how much he drinks. He was a bit evasive at first, but he told me a good bit of his story. He’s in his late 30’s and has been in drug rehab six times and that yes he does drink. I just told him that if he drinks it is not my place to tell him what to do, but if he needs to talk to someone that he can always speak to me. He gave me a hug and thanked me for taking the time to see how he is doing. Now I know he drinks too much, but I cannot control that. I can be there to help him though when he asks for it and at least listen to what ails him in his life. I think that’s important and perhaps something we should attempt to do more with those around us.
  11. Medvedev just broke Sinner in the 3rd set. This seems like this might be a bit of a problem for Sinner. Sets at 1-1 but Medvedev up 3-1 in the 3rd and his serve is yet to be broken.
  12. His childlike mind is more fragile to being criticized than Kevin Durant. One of the most unlikeable tennis players in the history of the sport. My younger brother still plays competitive tennis (Won the doubles tournament in Texas in 2022 that got him to nationals in San Diego the following spring) and he really does not like Djokovic.
  13. Absolutely racist, but considering the source it’s believable that it would be the Post printing that. They might as well rename themselves the Staten Island Daily. They remind me of newspapers ran by William Randolph Hearst during WWII. He took a side and it was with Republicans. They would run articles about General MacArthur filled with even less truth than what we are reading now. I guess the point here is the print media didn’t just start with idiotic stuff like this in more modern times. It’s been there for decades and decades.
  14. California should tell the rest of this country to kick rocks considering that without them a lot of the southern sisters of the poor states would lose a whole lot of federal funding.
  15. Mentally he is completely exhausted and cognitively we can all see the decline. He’s in his early 80’s and he should be resting comfortably in retirement. Instead he entered the 2020 race to make sure we got the worst president not named Andrew Jackson out of the White House. Mission accomplished there. Now that same psychopath is not only not in prison for trying to overthrow the government, but he is running again. Biden should be able to hand the baton off to Harris or another viable candidate, but right now that isn’t the reality of the situation. He does not want to leave and step down. I feel like part of it is he wants to keep TFG from returning, but also being the most powerful political person in the world is probably something he also does not want to relinquish yet. I will give him or his replacement my vote, but boy what a time to be alive.
  16. I am absolutely good with a president like Biden. You delegate out responsibility to subordinates who understand their role in America and the greater world as a whole. You do your job and you make sure that at home and abroad we are taking care of our citizens and strengthening ties with countries we are close to as well as ones we need to have good relationships with. The alternative is a narcissistic nutjob that thinks airports were around 250 years ago who, and this is kind of a big deal, LEAD AN INSURRECTION to keep control of the government less than four years ago. Give me quiet competency versus a crazy person whose greatest contribution to American society will be the day he no longer walks among the living.
  17. I stopped celebrating a few years back. It’s just another day.
  18. This is where I see so many of y’all being at. I have family back in my hometown in Texas, but the pull is not enough to ever make me go back. I empathize with the situation you and your wife have in front of you. We just get this one life and I’ll be darned if I am going to waste it attempting to help folks who do not want it. I’d rather go be part of a different culture and be a positive contributor there while trying to do right by folks. When the lowest rung of society, not monetarily, but the lowest of the low in ethics, morals and all that entails has decided the being decent is no longer a requirement to be a part of society, well, that is the bright blinking sign telling me to head elsewhere.
  19. I am mostly in line with this. Social media, as a whole, is a cesspool she needs to steer clear of. Just focus on basketball, connecting with the fans at games or PR events, and lead a good life. She’s the breadwinner right now for a league that needed one and I hope she just keeps on keepin’ on. I also hope she eventually gets teammates that can catch her passes. That seems kinda important as well.
  20. The humidity and rain can be a real beating in the South Pacific, but the people are good and I already put together the basics of an exit strategy from American life over the last year and a half. Some absolutely wonderful places there to work and call home if you are okay with uprooting and becoming part of an entirely different culture. This kind of stuff is right up my alley as I have always gravitated towards people and cultures different from what I grew up in. This ability to adapt has been a strength for me. For others I can see looking at the South Pacific as way too far removed from the life they live to do it no matter the circumstances in the mainland US. I guess it’s mostly a matter of how you want to spend your life going forward. For those of y’all with families it is far more complicated than someone like me that just has two dogs to take with.
  21. Klay is a nice addition for Dallas. He could’ve solved some issues shooting-wise for my guys in LA, but he’s a better fit alongside Luka. Should get a ton of great looks from beyond the arc all season long.
  22. You have to learn how to shoot going forward. She could do worse than visiting Holger. He seems more than willing to help players out, even those who can’t hit anything outside of 10 feet. Hammon helped usher this style in. Within five years if you can’t space the floor you’ll be out of a job or be a role player . The women’s game will evolve just like the men’s game has. I think that part is cool how the game just evolves continuously.
  23. Y’all have fun with all of this. I’ll hopefully have a place in The Solomons to live and work while y’all are dealing with some of the most hateful people on the planet. The history written by folks watching this in other countries, places that actually believe in the rule of law, will not be kind to these six justices. The GQP will probably build them a national monument in front of The White House.
  24. Well yes it does have to be addressed. During her double-double streak she’s shooting 42 percent from the floor. The WNBA is undergoing the same thing the NBA went through and post player, especially undersized ones like Reese, are going to have to figure out how to stretch the floor. Right now she has zero ability to do that and that’s kinda going to be important if she doesn’t want to be a one dimensional player. Were I her I’d go find Dirk Nowitzki and get his old coach Holger to teach her how to shoot from beyond the arc after the season.
  25. I am honestly trying to understand how you can shoot 42 percent on a layup. I mean that to me is just incredible. The odds of her layups going in are roughly what Chris Dudley’s odds were of hitting those ridiculous free throws he shot.
