  1. The attention Clark brings the WNBA is good. Her mere presence in the league has given it elevated attention that it has never received. I hope she keeps on grinding and eventually engineers a big turnaround in Indiana. One of the reasons they have been so horrid and got that top pick is they took the Byron Scott route and determined that having all bigs and no shooters was the way to go. Get Clark some floor spacers around her and things will change. This year will be probably the roughest she has or ever will have ever again. Going to Indiana is like being drafted by the Hornets or Wizards.
  2. I should be living in a place close enough, God willing, to see some of the games in Tokyo.
  3. It was a fun movie. I decided to watch it in a smaller AMC showing than their IMAX ones and it was still great. I enjoyed the lack of dialogue at times and the action scenes were well done. Hemsworth being the bad guy was different to see, but he played the character well. I would watch this again. Anya Taylor Joy was also really good and her reactions told more of her inner feelings on things than extended dialogue ever would have.
  4. Every classic story from elementary school. I had the ability to read at a high level, but none of the books we had to read interested me in the least. You name it and I did not enjoy having to read it. I loved books about actual history, but that was not on the agenda at that age.
  5. Can a meeting be arranged between Franklin and Putin in any random hotel in Russia? Putin is evil incarnate, but he does know how to make good use of windows for people like Franklin.
  6. Anytime someone visiting NYC asks me about visiting Texas I tell them the first stop needs to be Austin and Barton Springs pool. What a relaxing place to hangout at and enjoy a hot spring or summer day.
  7. It’s all subjective and it’s cool that there are so many actors that people here find enjoyment in watching. The qualities that someone enjoys in one actor may not resonate as well with someone else and that’s alright. This bodes well for the film industry that there is so much excellent talent available for the silver screen. COVID did a number on the industry, but hopefully all these talented men and women can help revive things.
  8. I will defer to you on her as I can tell you zero about her work. A guy I work with did a nice breakdown of the movie for me because I do not really read reviews ahead of time. I would have it listed as a drama and not a horror movie, at least in the traditional sense of what watching a horror movie means. The focus on the trans experience is why I believe there will be a personal connection to the movie that will resonate better with others who watch it. I believe movies like these have an important place in cinema even if they are not movies that everyone can connect with. I would say to perhaps stream it when it comes out and see what you think of it and not what others feel about this one.
  9. Bingo, bango, bongo. Our coup didn’t go so well in The Congo.
  10. I remember taking a course in college called World Religions and the Baha’i Faith was one I found pretty interesting. Of the actors I have met in New York the kindest was Rainn Wilson and he was raised in and still adheres to the Baha’i faith. He was unbelievably kind and considerate to all the fans that came off the street to meet him while he was eating. That’s a long way of saying that faith is cool in my book.
  11. @Hank Kingsley that is an incredible story that you shared and I am glad you let us read it. I am certain your grandfather was a good man that would be proud of you.
  12. You have zero ability to have any objectivity. It’s one of the reasons you miss so badly on almost every single prediction you make in all sports. The Yankees would be better served if you picked them to finish dead last every year.
  13. I watched Challengers this week and that movie was all over the place, but mostly in a fun way. Ostensibly it had to do with tennis, but mostly about the two guys fighting for her. It was a good watch once I thought about what I saw later on after I left.
  14. Pretty cool for the young guys win the biggest game of their careers thus far. Denver will have to be content to remain at the one-time table of NBA Champions while the Wolves try to join them there. Should be a fun final two rounds.
  15. And have two major cogs that have injury histories. If Soto was to leave this lineup for any appreciable amount of time they would be in a world of hurt as he is the player most responsible for the Yanks returning to being good again. Perhaps you are intentionally glossing over the potential injury issues that can come up for the Yanks with Judge and Stanton. Beating up on bad teams is how you build winning records so mission accomplished from the Phillies so far.
  16. I Saw the TV Glow. Watched it last night. I am certain it will resonate better with other folks. It was a one time watch movie for me.
  17. If you had the Phils and Yanks as having the best records in each league right now you might want to head straight to Vegas and bet the farm on whatever you want to. The Phillies seem to have more staying power out of the two I think mainly because you cannot trust Stanton nor Judge to stay healthy for the entire season.
  18. Flat Earth> Injured Leader of his team. I have a feeling that he’s going to go completely off the map in the WCF and Luka will have to really round into form to get the Mavs to the Finals.
  19. Well yes they would qualify as a not real good team this year! Mediocre might be my nicest interpretation of what I saw from the Purple and Gold. Probably trending further downward going forward as well which I am sure makes a lot of NBA fanbases happy.
  20. I’d root for the old Red Army team before I will pull for THOSE GUYS. I’m cool with this Pacers team winning. They are pretty entertaining when they are firing on all cylinders and they’ve got the nobody believes in us chip on their shoulders that seems to be helping them.
  21. The Pacers are a dumpster fire on the defensive end, but they can score almost at will at times. If they had an actual big man on their roster I would pick them to win the ECF. They could take this to six if everything goes right for them though.
  22. Skip straight to the 32 owners of NFL teams. No need to kill some well-intentioned, but not enormously talented, c-list actors.
  23. Mike Miles. You want to brush up on this comic book villain. Currently in charge of HISD, but also a guy who has charter schools in Texas and Colorado. Transferring a few million from his Texas schools to ones in Colorado that are in serious debt. In effect he is taking Texas taxpayer money to pay off Colorado school debts. He also ran DISD for three years and managed to wind up being universally hated before leaving the district.
  24. Miles is a criminal and it would be nice to see our justice department investigate him for being one. @YGIFS get out your Batphone and make some fun calls to Miles office and then to some people that can ruin him professional and financially for this.
