  1. I think if you gave that guy complete anonymity to say what he thinks of Irving it would be as brutal a takedown as he did on Harden. Since talking about the Mavs is how he pays his bills I think we’ll have to wait until Kyrie is off to his next team to burn down. I also don’t think it matters who Harden is teammates with. He has zero understanding of anyone outside of himself. He does share that trait with Kyrie.
  2. If Brian Ferentz needs a place to make a soft landing after Iowa cans him I think @Sbbruin’s guys seem like a nice place to go to. No expectation to score points and you get better weather.
  3. I am reading a book right now that focuses on a few of the individual Marines that fought on Tarawa. Reading about them reminds me about the level of sacrifice each of them made to repel Japan and destroy their armed forces completely. That battle was pure hell on earth. I have nothing but admiration for them and everyone else that has served our country. My father was German, but within three years of coming to the states he was drafted to go to Vietnam. He would get his citizenship over there and he was placed in the motor pool. Despite qualifying as a marksman (My dad was a heckuva shot) he was sent to the motor pool where he did what he excelled at unlike any person I have ever met. He received the Bronze Star during his tour, but never said how he got it. He was so proud to be an American citizen and to have served in the armed forces of his adopted country. I will never forget when my uncle died in 2006 and my dad had lost his sight due to a doctor’s tragic mistake, he got up and he saluted my uncle (Also a Vietnam vet that got his leg blown off by friendly fire. Found that out 15 years later.) while they played taps.
  4. Well I gotta tell you that wherever he got it done it’s noticeable. Big upgrade. I am pretty certain my man is also on the spectrum like I am which means he’s probably an encyclopedia of Knox City football and their other sports in general. It would be cool to meet this guy at some point in life because I can guarantee he’d be entertaining to listen to. Also Knox City is 1st in the state and national six man rankings right now. They beat the number two team in the state and nation early in the year by 4, but look to have to play them again in a couple of weeks going by the brackets
  5. Pretty sure 15-0 qualifies as Brian Ferentz running up the score and doing a victory lap.
  6. Whoa, whoa, whoa…That’s a bridge too far right there.
  7. 6-0 in the Bottom of the third. What riveting stuff. BUT, and brace yourself for this, they have thrown the ball 23 times and 13 of those have been caught by guys in Hawkeye jersey so far. They may hit that magical 300 yard barrier of total offense before this one is done.
  8. HOO BOY…WOW. I mean that guy just said everything on live TV that fans say about him. That was a takedown from the top rope.
  9. Outside of THOSE GUYS I really don’t actively want to see other teams fail. Age will do that to you as a fan. Whatever team employs Morant though is one I want to see go face to concrete over and over. He should not be playing at all this season.
  10. Man I am with you on having seen one of these late. IB I enjoyed for the humor it provided. Django I think I saw in the theater, but who knows. I was maybe more lukewarm on that one. I just didn’t connect as well with it. Does not mean it wasn’t a cool movie overall. Sometimes a movie can just fail to captivate you as to where most everyone else may love it.
  11. Here is something else Knox City related. The original video I saw because of Danny Balis and Corby getting the audio played during a broadcast of The Hardline. I wondered if this guy was still around and by God the Knox City Superfan still is! Looks like he has had some dental work done at some point in the last dozen years, but as big a fan of the home team now as he was then!
  12. He's on 97.1 The Freak now. Along with Mike Rhyner. Well how about that. Learn something new everyday. I thought Rhyner had retired as well.
  13. Well the Clips system is still attempting to fit THE SYSTEM into their team. Should be a dynamite season watching all of that transpire.
  14. I want to see a team that possibly is playing in June have a shot to get a high pick. Being mediocre or hoarding draft picks should not be the only way to wind up with a really good pick. Nuggets win this tournament, go back-to-back and get at least a top 10 pick. Make it happen Adam Silver.
  15. I think of the “Knox City Knocker” Danny Balis. I assume that he still works for The Ticket. I guess I could just check the thread dedicated to that radio station to find out.
  16. I remember playing McNeil back in 1994 when the Mavs were still the new school in that area. I was on the freshman team that year and they pistol-whipped us. Our varsity returned the favor the next night though. I always like the RR schools because a cousin that I still call from time-to-time was a starting defensive end on the 1992 RR High team. All 5’10” 180 lbs of him. I remember going to watch them play their first round game against Temple the year the Wildcats won state. The Dragons had Ines Perez as their coach and they got up 14-0 pretty quickly. The only problem was Coach McQueen and Temple scored the final 55 points of the game…😂
  17. They should get a top 10 guaranteed pick with the odds commensurate of a team with the 10th worst record, thus giving them a chance to be even higher than that. You do that and we will see teams and organizations go all out to get that pick. Sam Presti might sell his family for a shot at another lottery pick.
  18. Real shame…I feel bad for no one on the JV team. It is almost like getting Harden instantly makes you play 4 on 5 on defense while having to cater to him on the other end or he’ll sulk eventually.
  19. Payback was indeed really good and you can definitely see the association with Line of Duty with one cop feeding info to the bad guys in the show. So the main bad guy is played by accomplished Scottish actor Peter Mullan. You might also remember him from the 2nd photo as well where he played a bad guy from out in the sticks in an American series all of us would know called Ozark. The carryover from each character is evident. He excels at this kind of role whether using his normal accent or American one. This was a highly, highly watchable show. Not sure how they could do a season two, but I am in if they figure it out.
  20. They did not waltz through 5-5 Taylor to begin things. 28-28 going into the 4th before scoring twice in the final period. Matter of fact Boerne’s district went 1-3 in the opening round. Even taking into account their 42-28 win they were outscored in the 4 bi-district games by a combined total of 184-73. Davenport 62-14 Fredericksburg Burnet 42-17 Somerset Lampasas 52-0 Uvalde If Lampasas played their starters after halftime it would’ve been one of those 70 plus point wins so many teams are putting up now. Davenport will win the region and win that 3rd round game by double digits. They have been tested by better opponents overall this year and they have the best offense in the region, by far. Burnet gave Brownwood a pretty stout test on the road early in the season and have not lost since Lampasas beat them to open district play. It would not shock me to see Burnet in the regional final.
  21. I feel for you and your family. Such a beautiful spirit that your nephew had.
  22. I had a next door neighbor that used to go hunting for mushrooms with his dog out in the forest when I lived in a really rural area some years back. He’d sell some and use some. He was around his mid to late 40’s, but looked like he was 60. Guy had a rough life as far as I could tell. Seems like the mushrooms helped him with his anger because the excessive alcohol sure wasn’t helping. I still drank at that point in life, but have never used any drugs. I am all for what you men and women in this thread are doing though. Anything like this that can help you sort out life and put you on the road to being in a better place is good with me.
  23. I caught the end of the Lampasas radio broadcast and the head basketball coach for Lampasas has done the YouTube broadcasts all year with a new guy from Illinois (Who is a great play-by-play guy). He was explaining why Calallen losing in the first round was a big deal.
  24. Lampasas won 52-0 over Mr. Alright, Alright, Alright’s Alma mater. Lampasas pulled their starters on offense with three minutes left in the 1st half when it was 35-0. The defensive starters were out shortly after halftime as well. Nice to see a lot of back-ups and some JV guys get into a playoff game.
