  1. Lancaster was some good memories for me. They have had Coach Doug aka “Coach Snoop” for almost two decades. Years ago I volunteered as a basketball coach and the first year I went to Lancaster to scout Hutch because they were a district opponent for us. Hutch got roasted as I recollect, but they were tough. I would also posit most of the women from Hutch would wipe the floor with Perkins.
  2. Oh about tree-fiddy.
  3. Hard to believe this happened 60 years ago today. Civil Rights icon John Lewis was beaten and suffered a fractured skull while trying to cross a bridge named after one of the traitors that fought against America in the Civil War. He later became a congressman in Georgia for 34 years until his death in the summer of 2020. That day changed so much about America. That African-Americans were willing to be beaten to show how horrific life was in the Jim Crow south speaks to the incredible courage they showed that day in Alabama. This picture says more than any words I can say about where the country was at and also what kind of man John Lewis was.
  4. I haven't had a drink in more than five years now so kick rocks. You deserve what is transpiring. I never liked bourbon anyhow when I did drink.
  5. He’s one of the few non-Lakers I would watch when I had time before he was traded. He plays the game with the joy a kid has for it. Kinda like Magic back in the Showtime days except he can shoot. The NBA has very, very few guys in any given generation that can carry a team to a title. Steph has been one, LeBron was that guy when he was younger and so was Dirk at the height of his powers among others. If Wemby stays relatively healthy he is one as well. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out Doncic is one of those guys after the run last season. Nico is still an all-time on the moron GM list for this trade. Unless he was explicitly told to trade Luka or lose his job by that oompa loompa Dumont he should never get a job in the NBA ever again.
  6. I don’t think he watches anyone play.
  7. Can someone tell Kendrick that there is no one who cares that he is from Beaumont. He is not a tough guy and was a spare as a player for most of his career. Seeing him talk tough would be like seeing Chris Bosh act like he has some hood cred because he was able to drive from the Hutch area to go to school in South Dallas at Lincoln.
  8. All of that is now history. In times of necessity you find out who actually cares. In this new fun era of the US being governed by nutjob grifters and outright traitors someone has to step up and try. For now at least that someone is France and I'm alright with them putting forth the effort.
  9. France being the big balls character in the story is quite the turn. More of them kicking dirt publicly on the orange god king please.
  10. Thanks for taking the time to respond with a detailed post like that. I appreciate responses like this. I kept my observations narrowly-focused because the USAID to where I will eventually live is sorely needed. Australia does what they can, but we cannot expect them to be able to keep the entire South Pacific afloat so to speak. We owe those nations far more than we give and if we don’t step up we will lose them for at least a generation or more. This whole thing just sucks watching America descend into chaos and authoritarianism with half the voters cheering it on.
  11. It has not only consequences in terms of deaths that are being caused by stopping USAID, but it also gives China a new way to make inroads in areas we should care far more about. I care about the nations in the South Pacific. China cares about them insomuch as they gain sway over their politics and allegiances. What we are doing right now is killing trust with those countries, three of which have a free association agreement with us. If I were them I would not trust the US to abide by what those agreements mean. I would not trust the US no matter what they say were I in their shoes.
  12. I use Regal here. I had AMC for years, but when I moved my choices for still having a movie pass were just down to Regal. The one I go to is maybe a 10 minute walk and I pay 26 a month to watch as many movies as I want to. The ones that cost are the 4DX, but since I usually go at night there are always empty seats. I went to see an action film in Mandarin in 4DX by just going right in. It was actually pretty cool and engaging. The soft drinks are disgusting though at Regal. AMC never, ever had anything that tastes as bad as the Diet Pepsi does from their fountain. I like that you can mix your own drinks with those machines. I just bring my own drink instead now to this Regal. I thought maybe the first time it was just not great that night, but no not the case. I'd buy a drink from them if they had something that didn't taste so horrid.
  13. Why not a mix of both?
  14. In two weeks.
  15. My post can be merged here if you want. I just didn't see this thread already started. It was a really fun movie.
  16. It was just, well, it made zero sense and for the exact reasons you mentioned. I know there was one poster here that supported it, but outside of that I believe it was roundly derided here and in the media for the most part. Beal played 53 games last year and is on pace to possibly get to 60 this year. Respectable game totals for him, but you don't trade for Beal knowing you already have two guys that can do what he does better. Since Ishbia takes advice from Isiah Thomas, I wonder how much his voice influenced that trade. Doesn't matter now I guess as the trade went about like you thought it might. I would guess Dan Gilbert is probably the person enjoying seeing Phoenix be mediocre the most.
  17. Zion put up 37 tonight, but man this guy just cannot rebound for his size. Luka, supposedly overweight and out of shape, puts up 30/15/8 and he doubles up Willliamson in rebounds. How can you be 6’6” 280 and you get four rebounds? You almost have to intentionally not try at that size to be that bad at rebounding. This guy’s entire six years have been an exercise in wasted time for New Orleans.
  18. Yeah what’s left probably did and others surely would have, especially with the internet screwing with the elderly’s ability to figure out what is actual news and what is propaganda. I would highly suspect the guys in their younger days would not have been so kind in seeing their country destroyed by a draft-dodging buffoon when they all either were drafted or volunteered to go fight for America.
  19. And Luka gets the assist on the triple from James. Fun bit of history to be part of.
  20. I’m reading a book about PT boats at Guadalcanal instead of watching. That’s a place where actual heroes died defending our country to their last full measure. So glad most of that generation are now gone so they don’t have to witness what we have become.
  21. So the East River then. I’m good with that.
  22. Once we come out of this years from now and get a government that has to wipe away the stain of these traitors it’s highly likely he gets re-buried at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.
  23. LeBron is one point away from 50k combined regular season and playoffs. Let it be a lob from Luka on the opening possession tonight.
  24. No. I am attempting to speed up the process and be out of the US by the end of next summer. I do not want to return no matter what transpires.
  25. I had no idea what to expect from this movie because it was the Monday night movie at Regal where they release a movie early, but don’t tell you which one ahead of time. This was good, REALLY GOOD. Jack Quaid is the star and he has a rare medical syndrome where he can’t feel pain. The plot had fun twists on a normal action/comedy. The bar scene near the beginning was great. One of the deaths made me cringe yet laugh out loud at the same time because of the brutality of it. I’d recommend watching this. It is quick and to the point with the story and is a cool movie to watch in under two hours. I’m definitely going to see this again.
