  1. I can respect that opinion. This is way outside of my normal movie range. Not every movie is for everyone and there’s plenty I make no connection with. I think it is just how shocking the movie might be why I enjoyed it so much. I would appreciate more outside the box thinking from writers and directors like this across all genres.
  2. I thought I would give @Beau Vine the weekend to admit he may have been a little off the mark saying Wimberley would “beat the **** out of Lampasas again.” Stoever had another really good game, but had two turnovers that turned out to be crucial. If he had Ty Johnson to throw the pill to this game might have turned out differently. Johnson’s 91 yard kickoff return was the first highlight. It’s be fun to have that size and that track speed for a day. Should be interesting to see how long it takes for Texas to send him an offer for 2027.
  3. Yesterday I went to the beach for the day, but had to take a different route there and back because of track replacement on the A line. I come back through Queens and man this message is not passive-aggressive, but just plain ol’ aggressive-aggressive.
  4. His sperm donor looks like he’s almost got both his feet in the grave.
  5. Well you will get plenty of both. Demi Moore deserves a best actress nomination for her performance. Just a wild movie. Go and watch it. Again nightmare fuel, but too good of a movie to not see.
  6. Yes that fascination is something I will never get. I get to read books for class about the Holocaust. They are not fun to read, but at least serve a necessary purpose.
  7. A low rent/imbecile at work likes it. I have learned in my interactions with this person that things they like have been overwhelmingly things I do not. Yes that’s enough for me not to watch it. Again I also stated I do not want to watch a show about a garbage human being that murdered someone in cold blood. This is something that should never have been made. When that coward died that should’ve been the last time his name was ever mentioned. He was a trash human being that got what he deserved.
  8. I work with several hundred people at work. There is a grand total of one person in the lot of them that I stay as far away from as possible. That one person mentioned to another co-worker that he is watching this show. That alone is enough for me to never watch this. I am sure it has some watchable moments in it and might well turn out to be okay, but I’ll skip it. Hernandez was a dirtbag who murdered another human being. We all know that though. Do not really care to see about any part of his life leading up to that moment or what happened after. He personified FAFO and he is one of the few human beings I feel that got exactly what he deserved for what he did.
  9. I would not bring in any food. When you see some of that stuff it’ll make your stomach turn. That movie goes right off the rails, but it all fit together so perfectly.
  10. I posted about it in the thread for the movie. Just absolute nightmare fuel that last half hour to 45 minutes. Absolutely bonkers movie experience. Must see movie though.
  11. I have a friend from up there who used to play against them when he was in school. They’re the big boys from what I remember for the Denver and Front Range area.
  12. My best friend went to Garland in the early 90’s. The stories he has of that place from back then.
  13. This movie is NIGHTMARE FUEL. ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE FUEL. I just finished seeing it and my God that is a well done movie, but again be prepared for some crazy dreams because of that film. I could not stop watching even when I knew it was going to be stuff that made me squirm. Some of it was funny, but Hoo boy that was quite the two hours. Just a wild movie dealing with how beauty is perceived in our culture. I would call it a must watch film.
  14. Lampasas wins 35-27. Wimberley fumbles at the Lampasas 10 and then Johnson makes an 18 yard catch on 3rd and 9 to ice the win. I was hesitant to say that Lampasas was going to be able to get the ball in his hands enough, but they did. I am sure BeauVine will be by shortly to eat some crow, or not. The QB for the Badgers, Reed Jerome, was the best player on the field tonight. Was accurate and ran right past a tired Texans front time after time. The Badgers line play was stellar all night.
  15. Lampasas up 28-14 at the half. Ty Johnson has a touchdown receiving and then for some inexplicable reason Wimberley kicks to him after getting to within 21-14. He took it 90 yards and ran all the way across the field to do it. Looked almost exactly like the 87 yard receiving TD he had last year against the Texans. Badgers have the ball to start the 2nd half.
  16. I don’t have the best feeling about how tonight’s game with Wimberley will go for the Badgers. Wimberley I think comes in the hungrier team after a close loss to one of the best teams in the state in LBJ. I think @Beau Vine’s guy Stoever should have a pretty big game as the interior of the Badger’s defense has had issues as well as contain problems on the edge because of a lack of speed. Jerome has ran the ball really well this year without Walker behind him, but his accuracy in getting the ball into the hands of Johnson and Roberts leaves a bit to be desired. He does the best he can though and that’s all you can ask I think. I think Wimberley wins tonight on Homecoming for the Badgers. My brother is taking his 5 year old and two year old out there. I will be shocked if he makes it to halftime with them or that he sees any of the game. Good that he is taking them though. Lampasas has the most talented individual player in Ty Johnson, but that doesn’t mean a great deal if the ball is not consistently in his hands. I think Wimberley gives safety help all night to keep him from going over the top. He is coming off of catching three TD’s last week and another rushing against Chaparral. He’s still primed for a big season, but tonight is going to be some tough sledding against the Texans. Wimberley should go over 40 again this year.
  17. This is their history. They threw out meat into the grinder on the Eastern Front 80 years ago. It was so ridiculous at that point that a German commander commented that they could take out 12 divisions and they will just throw 12 brand new ones in. The loss of life meaning nothing is a feature of their overall culture. It is the stupidity in their thinking that is the most mind-blowing. I don’t look at them as sub-human mongrels like General Patton and others did, but good Lord these are astonishingly and breathtakingly unserious people. If they did not have nuclear weapons we would have already sent in a NATO force to take them out. Moscow would be a hellscape for what it has done to Ukraine and the country would be partitioned up and given new regional names based on their favorite cheap vodka. Those nuclear weapons are the only thing propping their tin pot dictator and friends up.
  18. It really is impressive that this third world country run by a dictator somehow manages to continually one up itself in abject stupidity. I do not have to wonder how so much destruction happened at a munitions depot there. These are not smart people. These are abjectly ignorant humans that will do whatever the dumbest possible thing is that can be done. In this case they let thousands of tons of ammo get blown up on such a scale that it’s visible from space. I cannot believe we spent 45 years in a Cold War with such inherently dumb people. If you told me that the average Russian male wakes up and pisses on the wall while trying to eat a bowl full of rocks for breakfast I’d say that sounds about right. What a completely backwards society that really needs to be shut off from the outside world.
  19. Dear Sheryl, SHUT UP. No one cares what you think. You are a petty old has been that is no longer relevant. Signed, Everyone not in your petty friend group.
  20. It was an interesting movie. McAvoy played his character pretty well. In general he’s just good at whatever he does on the big screen. The husband in the visiting family was a bit of a coward, but it worked in the story. I think this is worth watching. I will give it some time and eventually watch the original so I can see the differences.
  21. I have a married couple I work with and the wife just lost her father. His illness was quick and he passed in less than a month. Her father was her best friend. The husband also lost a relative right around the same time. I mentioned to him that they are probably getting a lot of advice right now from people that is well meaning. He said they were getting a whole bunch of that. I told him I have no advice to offer because your situation is unique to you and your wife. Grieve for as long as YOU want to in whatever way you want to. If other people cannot understand that, well, that’s their own problem. The same goes for you. This is unique to you and you can grieve for whatever amount of time you want because this was a relationship between only her and yourself. There is no one size fits all way to deal with death.
  22. I work with a few Haitians. Just like most of the Gambians I work with they are also hard working yet pleasant to talk to. They just want a better life. Seeing these intellectually bankrupt cretins trash immigrants is a blight on our society. Four years ago I had preached patience in trying to reintegrate these maga people back into society. The 1938 Neville Chamberlain route if you will. Now I want to go full blown Roosevelt in 1943 at Casablanca and offer nothing to them but their complete capitulation. Do not stop until these people and their racist ideas are completely eradicated from American society. I would gladly take a tax increase to relocate all of maga to Russia and Belarus. Just be done with these hateful people for good and get some people in this country that belong here.
  23. Gotcha. The Wild West era in Russia. So much to unpack and I would yield to you on this as I have never devoted serious amounts of time to this part of Russian history.
  24. This movie is just so GOOD. It has English and Mandarin subtitles as I believe this is a film from Thailand. I went to watch it last night (The Big AMC in Times Square has a good amount of foreign films due to having 25 screens.) and this was so very well done. Watching the relationship between a grandmother and grandson develop while she is dealing with a terminal illness is so poignant. This film better make it to the final group of international films during awards season next year. I believe this is on Netflix as well so please watch it if you have some time to do so. I definitely want to see it again. The director, Pat Boonnitipat, needs to win a best director for this one. The grandmother was so funny yet amazing in her role. The sponge bath scene was a really hilarious moment in this film because of the conversation.
