  1. Last Breath. I enjoyed it. Direct and to the point. I did not see the documentary, but this was worth watching. Mark Bonner is a favorite actor of mine from the UK shows I have watched him in like Shetland, Line of Duty and Unforgotten. I’ll also watch just about anything Woody Harrelson is in.
  2. I would argue that it was not in vain. We as human beings have a tendency to look at the here and now as being the most important part of things. One day we'll be gone and be supplanted by the next group of people doing the same thing. Bonhoeffer, and those like him, will always have someone willing to pick up their mantle and fight back against tyranny. What is happening now makes his sacrifice no less important. He is still a guidepost to how you deal with these pricks.
  3. So much of how those theaters went depended upon America. I would contend that Burma would have probably ended up like it did at the end of the war. India would have been a bridge too far though. India was at that pivotal moment in their history where they were not going to be ruled by anyone any longer. There were still exceptionally impressive achievements from that theater though, especially the Burma Road and the flights over The Hump to name a couple. I’d speak more on the military accomplishments of Viscount Slim, but what he likely did in Australia after the war gives me great pause on discussing him that much. Read his autobiography though which was a pretty level-headed account of the fighting and his own shortcomings as a commander.
  4. This sounds like a book a friend gave me to read called House of Leaves. That was, well, it was quite the read.
  5. I decided recently to leave the restaurant I was working for. The environment was something I struggled with and I knew I had to go. The older I get the more I value peace while working. I chose a local place near Pearl Harbor. We will see how this goes. I have a years and a half left to finish this degree so I try to have a schedule with work that makes sense when it comes to studying. I like to experience as much as I can in life and those experiences honestly help in my overall happiness. I think I would be in a deep rut emotionally if I did the same job for years on end. Nothing against those that can, but that would drive me nuts. i see the posts on here about what y’all are dealing with. The only advice I have is to just keep waking up each day and do something kind for someone else. If you can just do that you will have made someone else’s day better. Maybe open a door or say thank you to someone. Being a good person costs you nothing and you will just feel a little better about the journey through life you are on.
  6. I’m not too far behind you. This is 38 years of being a fan of the Purple and Gold. I still have the Magic jersey I got back in 1988. He made me love the sport by how he orchestrated things and the joy he played with. I was also glad to see Knecht back. The biggest puzzle piece is getting a serviceable starting center in the off-season that Luka will feel good throwing lobs to. He can do that with Hayes, but Hayes is not my idea of a starting center and probably no one else would think that either. Still this is a fun time to watch The Lakeshow. I’d love to stick to the JV team in the playoffs because of Ballmer running his mouth nonstop with nothing to show for it aside from a pretty cool arena it seems.
  7. I am posting this picture by itself because this is a guy who did more for America by his early 20’s than 99 percent of us will do in a lifetime. Next time you fly in here please stop by and spend a minute paying your respects to him. His grave is easy to find by the road. His Medal of Honor story is incredible as well.
  8. Which is just laughably insane to anyone with a functioning brain like yourself or millions of like-minded folks. His sexual preference supersedes his superior intellect in the year 2025 in America because too many insecure morons feel that takes precedence.
  9. Elmo is a garbage person that does not deserve to live in America. North Korea seems to be more up his alley.
  10. I liked the mini-series I watched as a kid more. It was scarier to me as a child than watching two movies about it as an adult.
  11. The Monkey. This did deliver comedy with the death scenes. I LOL’d out loud along with the rest of the people there when they happened. This was a well done movie and it went straight to the point of things. I would watch it again. If any of you have a frustrating day mark down watching this one once it starts streaming.
  12. Because I enjoy animated movies I went to see this. I liked it.
  13. 32-10-7. Is that good?
  14. What name total is he up to now with this one?
  15. AOC is consistent on this as well, but Pete just has an ability to communicate in plain talk that surpasses the rest of the Democrats by a country mile.
  16. If he runs for president he is who I will back. I am not going to allow the opinions of morons to dissuade me from casting a vote for him in a primary.
  17. He is the smartest politician in America. I know his being gay is going to be used against him almost all of the maga cultists, but this is the person we need to chart a course that betters our country. This guy is the American Dream personified. He just has that rare ability to connect positively with people when he talks to them. I do not care one bit about who he is married to (Although by all accounts his husband is a great guy), I just care about him being someone that has the required intelligence to lead us out of this crater. The more people focus on his words the higher his profile will go. Arguing with idiots focused on his sexuality does no good. Buttigieg is a big boy and we all know he can handle dealing with the barrage of attacks he will get.
  18. Every single time he uses the r word to attack someone he doesn’t like is exceedingly cringe-worthy to me. This is a child with no idea how to act. My niece just turned six amd she would never say something like that about another person and yet this guy has a press conference in the Oval Office acting like he is the president. Just incredible.
  19. That revised edition version with that chapter is only available in Ohio. No one there can read anyhow so no big deal.
  20. If there is one thing Americans can agree on it is that they don’t like pissant kids messing with their money and benefits. Elmo will be the only person that will employ any of them once he gets his walking papers.
  21. Every single person that voted for the orange con man shares responsibility in her death. This child was still in the infancy of life. She had barely started scratching the surface of her potential and what she would become because of 77.2 million people who voted for an idiot thinking nothing bad could happen. The kids that bullied her got the message that it was okay because their environment at home did not care about the effect the election would have on children. Congratulations you idiot cultists. This child’s blood is on your hands.
  22. Well this isn’t cool. I hope he is able to come back ready for next season and that he has no long-term issues that would keep him from doing what he loves.
  23. Since the inevitable comparisons to the Nazis are going to be made here is where there is a line. Germany in the early 1930’s had a whole bunch of veterans from The Great War that felt they did not lose the war. They felt unfairly blamed for the war and the Versailles Treaty was still fresh on their minds. The Wehrmacht at that point was a skeleton of its Great War size, BUT, and this is key, they had grievances a mile long against France and Britain. You had the necessary ingredients for Hitler to be able to have a military that pledged allegiance to him, especially so because he had served in that war. Revenge was still on the minds of those soldiers and the children who had to hear for their entire life to that point that Germany needed to gain revenge against those countries and a centuries old scapegoat of the Jews. Our military is not suffering from a crisis in the confidence of itself or the values it is sworn to uphold. The United States military owes nothing to the con man, its idiot and racist defense secretary or any of the rest of them. We have a military built upon 250 years of weathering two wars with England, a Civil War, two world wars and now 80 years past that still being the dominant force in the world. It is built to weather morons like Trump. People routinely make fun of the Marines and their supposed lack of intellect. I’ll take that marine and his commanding officers and their vow to protect us. Our politicians will fail us continually like they are now, but our military I have zero qualms about trusting them. Push comes to shove they still have the big guns, tanks and planes and the orange con man has only his own plane and his cadre of secret service guards to try and overtake that. To that I say good luck.
  24. Do you believe our military doesn’t have contingency plans for when a president gets way out over their skis? Until I see it happen I will not think or believe that the United States military will choose to follow his orders over the Constitution. There are people there that take their oath seriously and care more about the country than following an orange man off a cliff. To be a real big boy dictator like his friend in Russia you have to have a military backing you up. Right now he’s still just a paper tiger in comparison.
